August1991 Posted June 6, 2009 Author Report Posted June 6, 2009 This government is no better...and slightly worse, than most others.Hein? When the Liberals had power, they gave taxpayer money ($100 million or more) to private firms who then gave the money back to the Liberal Party. Quote
Smallc Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Actually, most of that never came back the Liberal party and it was paid back. That doesn't change the fact that Harper is a liar and a hypocrite. Quote

Smallc Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 According to investigations that were done at the time. The Liberals returned a little over $1M to the taxpayers of Canada. Quote

Topaz Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Really? How much does the average voter know about Harper's wife? Just because you seem fascinated with personal details, that doesn't mean that voters in general. From what I have seen and heard in the media and in life, personal lives matter very little in Canadian politics. Good question, I didn't know anything about Laureen Harper but after checking I found out she was married to a new Zealander for 3 years in the late eightys and she met Harper at a Reform meeting. I find the only time we hear about her and see is when she getting on a plane to go out of the country. I wonder why she didn't go to France for D-Day? Quote
Smallc Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 What I wish would have went to France is the Airforce. I realize that the French, English, and Americans had jets much closer, but we certainly could have spared 4. Quote

She milked 9oz in one minute, while Madely had 3oz, which doubled what he milked last year. LinkIt's tough to milk a cow. Call me naive but I'm happy to know that our PM married a woman who knows how to milk a cow. Quote

Call me naive but I'm happy to know that our PM married a woman who knows how to milk a cow. with all the hullabaloo surrounding the false allegations against Dhalla - that nannies were forced to perform non-job related tasks/duties, it is most refreshing to see the Harper household held to account by a former chef who launched a $250K lawsuit against the Harpers, alleging he was expected to perform non-job related tasks/duties... like babysitting, pool cleaning, running errands, etc. Unfortunately, that court settlement related gag-order prevents us from realizing full/complete details surrounding this aspect of Laureen Harper - task-master extraordinaire! We are also led to believe she rides a hog... and also has a motorcycle Quote
fellowtraveller Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 The story made the front pages because it was the prime minister's son. Do you never tire of this BS? It did not make anywhere near there. The reporters at the time went easy, because that is how they used to roll. Not any more, the press has chosen the low road on their own initiative. Quote The government should do something.

normanchateau Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 Is Don Martin a closet Liberal supporter? You call this Don Martin column Liberal support? "The rookie Liberal leader went from condemning the government on multiple fronts, preening himself as a portrait of moral rectitude willing to defend his party’s virtue on the campaign trail if those Conservative evil-doers didn’t play nice with the unemployed, to a leader who was knocked back on his heels by a Prime Minister who did nothing but reject his key proposal. That whirling sound you could hear on Parliament Hill within hours of his ultimatum list was Mr. Ignatieff backpedaling away from his own rhetoric. By watering down his demands, Mr. Ignatieff seems to have spared Canadians the most needless of elections at the worst possible time. But he may have inadvertently saved his enemy some money. Now that the alleged easy ride from foreign import to prime minister-in-waiting is over, the Conservatives can cancel their “Just Visiting” Ignatieff attack ads. He’s proven himself capable of mortal misjudgments — and that reputation is here to stay. " http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/f...-honeymoon.aspx Quote

Smallc Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 No, it certainly isn't. Don Martin doesn't support anyone though....although I must admit, he seems to have a strong dislike for the Prime Minister. Quote

Almost anyone who has carefully delved into the Prime Minister's history would have a difficult time developing an affection for him. Quote
