Oleg Bach Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 You're not a racist for making observations or telling the truth. You're a racist for believing that a person's skin colour will determine how they will act. It's not just how they act - but who they are. You can not determine a persons worth by their outward appearance. If you have not noticed - human beings come in about 14 different molds - and these molds exist in all races -------------Have you ever looked at the shape of a white or black person - and said of the white or black person - I know womeone exactly like them - but they are not of the same race. People are people - an all are of different levels of high quality and inferiourity...even the best has the worst traits and vise versa... If I look at a white person and say he is an inferiour in some respects - and I am white - that does not make me a racist...but if I peer at someone of another race and am critical - then I AM CONSIDERED A RACIST....It's a stupid politically correct judgement - we should be able to tell the truth - if a person is a prick and a jerk - that's the way it is. OR if they are wonderful - and I say to a black person - "you are strikingly beautuful and smart - does that make me a racist towards whites? Quote
JerrySeinfeld Posted June 18, 2009 Author Report Posted June 18, 2009 You're not a racist for making observations or telling the truth. You're a racist for believing that a person's skin colour will determine how they will act. Agreed. SO let's abolish affirmative actions for starts as it judges people based upon their skin colour. I think we're all in favour of not judging people on their skin colour. no? Second, since the truth is not racist, then it should be fine to point out that wife beating is an accepted practice is large sections of the Islamic population, and in fact touted by Islamic clerics as an accepted preacching of the Koran. lictor616 Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 (edited) Is it racist to make and observation about the characteristics of certain cultures? The reason I ask is that I heear it all the time in the affirmative: "The Germans make superb cars" "The mokatobo tribe is a very caring and communicative mircoculture" "The Chinese excel in math and science" and I also hear it in the negative, albeit limited to certain cultures only: "American tourists are assholes abroad" "Most Americans are fat" Interestingly I rarely hear someone complain about these kinds of statements. Because society accepts them as PC. And also because many stereotypes have some root in the truth - or at least have roots in repeated observations of reality. But if I change the subject of the sentence, so too does the reaction. Just try it: "The Americans make superb cars and the mokatobo tribe are assholes abroad as well as fat." "Many Islamic societies lag badly on women's rights" The only thing that has changed is the subject - not the verbs or the adjectives. But all of a sudden you've got a "racist" statement on your hands. My observation is that most of this reckless use of the word "racist" or "bigot" has been brought about by PC progressives on the left. And it's my strong suspicion that these kinds of accusations aren't genuine in their attempt to further debate, but rather are designed to tar and blackball the speaker to SHUT DOWN debate. As well, if these people ARE genuine in their use of aggressive and accusatory terminology (racist, bigot etc.), I would suggest to them that they are taking the wrong approach. This is similar to the effect of calling every unwelcome male advance a "mini rape" by ultra feminists; all it does is belittle and trivialize the true nature of the word in language as well as true victims of real crime. If "racist" and "bigot" is thrown around as freely as I see it done by leftist progressives in today's society, desensitization will occur and these strong words will lose their effect. But I digress. Question: Is it possible that the draconian assault on discussion and language by the left is approaching orwellian levels? Are we still allowed to make observations about our increasingly diverse society without being hauled out in front of the language police? Leftists are fond of pointing out flaws in our own society. So shouldn't it be just as acceptable to point our flaws in new members of our society? Isn't insulating these people from criticism a de facto exclusion of them from the equal and proper adult debate that makes us all equal members of society to begin with? I once heeard an intelligent man say that what we need is less "sensitivity training" and more "de-sensitivity training". As a straight white male I take my fair share of name calling and bear the brunt of many jokes on television everyday. And I take it...with a smile. Maybe everyone else could try the same. Or does that make me "racist"? likewise look at the word "white trash" which incidentally means "poor, stupid, criminal ill bred and vulgar persons of the White race" funny how every time you hear the word "white trash" said to someone... no lefty or "equal opportunity" PC type has anything to say about it... you could say white trash all day and to every race (including white people) and no one would ever consider it "racist" or even mildly offensive... yet... say the word "nigger" (which designates poor, ill bred stupid, criminal black people)..... and you loose your job... get sued ... and easily expose yourself to violent attacks. how could there possibly be a more obvious double standard? Political correctness is simply Cultural Marxism.. it stems from Marcuse doublethink.... it doesn't stop discrimination but merely changes who and what is "OK" to discriminate about. PC people engage in the very thing they claim to oppose... "generalize" and dehumanize people of a certain identifiable group... Hence PC people will label people they feel are "bad people"... usually "heterosexual white males", dead white european males (DWEM'S as they are sometimes referred to contemptuously in some universities) conservatives, and "eurocentric" types... So they are no more moral or ethical then the groups they claim to oppose. remember that when some glassy eyed liberal tells you about the evils of "discrimination"... Oleg Bach Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 To find the differences or to develope differences in species is one thing-- to find the differences in races is another thing - to discriminate simply means to seperate what is personally good and what is bad - If you are going to do this with people you had better be the best judge on earth. In the meantime the average person had better proceed carefully in their judgements. Human beings are sometimes in a state of flux and develope - going from good to bad or vise versa..others are static - I believe you to be tolerant you have to understand what is good in you and what is not - if you in introspect inspect yourself you will be more tolerant in the imperfections of others - because none of us are in a perfect state - it's part of the human condition..to be constantly changing -- hopefully for the better..but not all people seek to be good - some don't give a damn - those are the ones you discriminate against... JerrySeinfeld Posted June 28, 2009 Author Report Posted June 28, 2009 (edited) ie - "Jews are good at money because Jewish culture is obsessed with making money." - disregarding the fact that Jews have historically been good with banking and trade because it was considered a "lower-class" part of the economy to the aristocracy in the countries where Jews lived and was one of the only avenues open for them to move up the economic ladder. It was also a way to make them more indispensable to the economy of the country and therefor gain more insurance against the waves of antisemitism that happened from time to time. This is excellent. I love this because it's a perfect example. Often there are good explanations for making generalist comments and they are more often than not rooted in fact. Take "Jimmy the Greek" who got fired as an NFL commentator and oddsmaker for stating the obvious: Black athletes in north america are genetically predispositioned to good athletic body types because their ancestors were selected on that basis over in africa during the slave trade. The most fit were selected, and the most fit of those survived the trip over in the boats. It's TRUE. But he got fired anyway. Ideally, wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where we could ALL talk like Russel Peters without being afraid of being tarred and feathered for racism, when all we're doing is participating in a little joksterism based upon stereotyping that we all do from time to time, in this big multiculti countrry we live in? I know every other race does it. Why can't white people? Are white people the only ones left who can "take it" - who are robust enough as citizens to not play the victim card? sharkman Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 The truth IS racist, but only because we have changed the meaning of the 'r' word. Black people are incredible athletes. I suppose that makes me a racist, but it's only the truth. Quote
Mr.Canada Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I always speak the truth when I post. The way in which I post often draws the ire of the members here though because truth for them means to distort facts instead of report them as I do. Such as... #1 Most street gangs in NA are black youth. Black youth commit the majority of the murders and street level drug dealing in NA. #2 Radical Islamic Muslims don't respect women to the same extent as we do here in the civilized world. As such take drastic measures to "discipline" their women devoid of any respect at all for our laws. #3 Outlaw Biker gangs are mostly made up of white people. These gangs are a scourge on our society and more should be done to eliminate them from our way of life. I picked on everyone equally.
