capricorn Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Every time Ignatieff raises his eyebrows, the Liberals rise a point in the polls. Well then he made a mistake trimming them. There used to be more eyebrow to raise. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers

Mr.Canada Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Dr. Dhalla, will not survive. Dr., lol, this is ridiculous. Why does she call herself a Doctor? She completed 2 years of chiropractic school, she is not a Doctor. She cheapens the title every time she's announced as a Doctor, outrageous. She isn't recognized by anyone she really needs to stop using Doctor in her title, it's very misleading and fraudulent. I'm not surprised though look at the many distasteful things she's done so far. Starred in a Bollywood film that included many racy scenes that were nearly x-rated. She and her family is currently under investigation for the extremely poor treatment of nannies under her employ. She denies both of these things of coarse. She cannot possibly be innocent of everything. She's another Liberal politician who's got caught with their pants down, so to speak. She needs to resign or she'll be slaughtered by a very strong Tory candidate in her riding next time around. Bryan Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Yes, yes she is. Also, it's 4 years on top of a BSc, not 2 years. Sure chiropractors are doctors, in the same sense that witch-doctors are doctors. The Rug Doctor is a doctor too then. Quote

Chiropractors are doctors even if they aren't Doctors of Medicine. They are Doctors of Chiropractic, a discipline that now has pretty widespread acceptance, and they have the education to back it up. Moonbox Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Chiropractors are not doctors. They're chiropractors. They doctors only in the same sense a PhD is a doctor. If someone was shot and someone yelled, "Is anyone a doctor!!?" The chiropractor wouldn't stand up and take charge. If there wasn't a medical doctor around I would certainly hope that they would. The ones I know have a great deal of medical knowledge. Also, PhDs are doctors, and they deserve the respect of the title if they prefer it. Quote

Good one on "The Rug Doctor", had a nice chuckle there. It's absurd, they offer courses to be a chiropractor on late night television, courses over the internet and by mail. So sorry mail order Dr.'s are not Doctors, it's absurd. Chiropractors are giving people stroies by manipulating their necks and spines. As far as I know they don't take the Hippocratic oath either. These are quacks not Doctors. Quote "You are scum for insinuating that isn't the case you snake." -William Ashley Canadian Immigration Reform Blog
Keepitsimple Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 (edited) No, it means 'Doctor of Chiropractic'. It would be nice if you could get off your Liberal soapbox just once. This would be a good time to perhaps concur that the continuous use of the term Doctor as it relates to Ms. Dhalla is misleading and in using it herself, verges on Hubris. Most non-medical "Doctors" have a sense of humility and only use their titles within the spectrum of their professional community. Edited May 18, 2009 by Keepitsimple Quote Back to Basics
Smallc Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Most non-medical "Doctors" have a sense of humility and only use their titles within the spectrum of their professional community. My chiropractors office has the title doctor in front of the name of each chiropractor working there. It is not at all misleading and to say so is simply untrue. Quote

The usal MD, Dentistry etc are all there though....give it up Smallc, you're beat and you know it. Mr.Canada Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Chiropractic isn't taught at UofT. Thank you, that's what I needed you to say. So she completed her "her Doctor of Chiropractic in 1999 in Toronto" which is to say it is taught in only one place in Canada in English - Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. This goes on to prove that Chiropractors aren't seen as real health professionals as the course isn't offered in ANY major institution of higher learning as MD's, Dentists etc are. Smallc Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 (edited) So in other words, you have no idea what you're talking about. You do know that doctors (M.D.) teach at CMCC, right? Edited May 18, 2009 by Smallc Quote
Mr.Canada Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 (edited) So in other words, you have no idea what you're talking about. You do know that doctors (M.D.) teach at CMCC, right? I wanted you to say that they don't teach it at UofT or any other recognized University in Canada. It isn't recognized by the CMA, the governing body for Doctors. Chiropractors aren't looked at in the same light as MD's by MD's and that's a fact. Doctors would never send one of their patients to a Chiropractor and they certainly would never refer to one as a fellow Dr. Don't be ridiculous. Smallc Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Doctors would never send one of their patients to a Chiropractor Just keep thinking that and it'll all be ok. I saw one of the Doctors (M.D.) from the local clinic at the chiropractors office getting treatment...and doctors often send their patients to chiropractors...insurance agencies will also refer you there after car accidents, etc..but this is getting pretty far off topic. Mr.Canada Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Ok good, you agree with me on the other points then. 1. They don't teach it at UofT or any other recognized University in Canada. It isn't recognized by the CMA, the governing body for Doctors. 2. Chiropractors aren't looked at in the same light as MD's by MD's and that's a fact. 3. They certainly would never refer to one as a fellow Dr. Don't be ridiculous. And aside from a few Doctors who would send their patients to one ... 4. Doctors would never send one of their patients to a Chiropractor is largely true. Thank you.
