Nortel has been into schemes and scams for close to a decade. I recall smelling the stink of John Roth as he was exiting Nortel and cashing out hours before the stocks tumbled. Nortel lost any credibility with me around that time, but people continued to be suckered into supporting this company and in the following years, we have seen some outrageous business plans.

But there is always a great price for incompetence. Yes, we must pay high dollars to keep the scammers and the incompetents running the company. Our courts are very complaint at providing for the most powerful and most incompetent at the same time.

No, instead of cutting these guys off at the knees..... the courts provide them will millions to stay on.

Should I expect anything more.... absolutely not.

An Ontario judge has allowed Nortel Networks Corp. to pay three Canadian senior executives bonuses as part of an incentive plan to keep them with the company to drive a reorganization as it tries to emerge from bankruptcy protection.

Courts in Canada and the U.S. granted the company the right pay a combined $7.3 million U.S. to eight top-level managers Friday even as thousands of former employees are being denied severance payments.

Russell Schooley, a former Nortel software developer in Texas who lost his job, health benefits and about eight months severance pay in January, was disappointed the U.S. court did not listen to his objections.

"Where is the fairness in giving these executives a bonus just a few months after they deny other employees their severance pay?

Well, Russell, you need to be retrained, You need to get into technology.... opps wrong speech for the unemployed and severancely shafted...... our bankruptcy laws here, wouldn't do shit for you either. You are screwed.

Russell you must recognise what could happen if we don't give these big fat bonuses to a bunch of Corporate bums.

Sponsor an Executive

Money well spent :P

That is insane.

Why, because it doesn't agree with your personal moral values?

"personal moral values" How dare you attatch the words personal and moral? What you are saying personally speaking if a guy has a thousand dollars and you want it -- it's fine to hit him on the head with a rock and take it because it is GOOD for you and fits your personal and "moral" needs..somethings are wrong and some are right - If you want to maintain a happy and civil society you need laws (morals) - If lawlessness suits you then I guess that is what you VALUE..
