Mr.Canada Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 This is a Bob Rae proposal...how sad. Liberal supporters will not even shell out $20 for a membership to their own party...wow. SO Bob Rae wants to give them away, I find this hilarious. Quote "You are scum for insinuating that isn't the case you snake." -William Ashley Canadian Immigration Reform Blog
Oleg Bach Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 (edited) It's not funny it's pitiful. Government should not be a monopolizing bureacracy who's only goal is self perpetuation based in neputism and poll pandering. I am not an educated man - but I do like to understand language best I can - Prime Minister means first servant - oppostion are to act as care takers and advisors for that grand servant that must serve us all - Liberalism is based in egotism and not service - now how do they rise above their own base instincts? If they can give up there worst human quality which is disinhibited judgement..then they may have a chance. Liberalism has for years outlawed discriminatory judgement and judgement itself as if it was evil - you must discriminate between what is good for society and what is not...They exist in a moral neutrality that is the death of them - so be it. jdobbin Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 (edited) This has been quite a successful policy for some provincial parties. You should look into it. It actually has increased participation in the political process. I know they are starting to do it in the prairies now. capricorn Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 (edited) I may be wrong but I think the cost is more like $10.00. As I recall, the LPC has about 500,000 members. It would seem odd for a party hurting for cash cutting off this source of funds. How many members will resist renewing their current membership before the April convention because they think they'll get the membership free? This wouldn't be surprising since supporters don't seem too eager to open their wallets for the party. I can't see Rae's proposal receiving enough support at convention to pass. Smallc Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 The CPC is the centre party of Canada now that the Liberals have moved to the left. There is no centre-right party in Canada anymore. And when the Liberals get their new leader, it will probably mean a move back to the centre. Then there will be two centre choices....and one of them will be the party that ran the country about 3/4 of the time. Quote

Mr.Canada Posted November 24, 2008 Author Report Posted November 24, 2008 "the Liberals" huh... someone didn't read the Gomery report... Money flowed from the government which was the Liberals and Mr. Chretien. The $1.5 billion didn't flow all by itself a Liberal had to sign the papers. IF not than me or you could get billions too. ADScam was a the biggest theft in Canadian history. Mr.CHretien and the Liberals stole $1.5 billion from us, the Canadian taxpayer. You have to have a job to pay taxes so maybe that's why many on the left think it's ok to do this.
