Jobu Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 I think PEI will be a very interesting province, one that no one is talking about. All four ridings have been Liberal for some time, but all four are in play and very close. Islanders hate the carbon tax, and this has hurt the LPC fortunes materially. Earlier this week I would have predicted all 4 to go LPC again, but the momentum has shifted and if the CPC can pick up one or more of these seats, I think it will be an indication of things to come. And Islanders here with any thoughts? Quote
Moonbox Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 I was browsing PEI newspaper websites and they were extremely negative on the carbon tax. Quote "A man is no more entitled to an opinion for which he cannot account than he does for a pint of beer for which he cannot pay" - Anonymous

peijay Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 liberal roots run deep on the island and if the liberals are able to get the vote out they may pull through. that is a big if though as islanders have been led to beleive that the carbon tax is bad for fishing and farming. other than that they don't care for dion and are hoping for a minority cpc and the getting rid of Dion. other than an awful lot of signs ,i ,personally have not seen hide nor hair of any candidates other than the liberal. remains to be seen if islanders fall for cpc scare tactics.
