There is no call to legalize Pedophilia and it doesn't seem to be a major political issue in Canada at this time.

Perhaps it would be better if you explained why such a poll is required.

I appreciate your concern but your remarks, as usual, come off as reactionary offering an extreme solution (death penalty) to a complex problem.

developmentally, it seems about the age when most teens might be able to make informed consent. 14 isjust too young, 18 is not realistic to prosecture offenders. even at 16, what if the girl is 15 and boy 17? what exactly is informed consent? what is taking advantage? can a 16 yr old boy have sex with a 30 yr old?

frankly, we shoudl charge the parents of kids who get abused too. its a legal responsibility to protect your kids. else dont have them. my parents made me thier #1 priority all thier life. others can to.

child abusers- life in prison. i got no problem killing people who kidnap kids or kill them. once you are that deviant, there is no reason society should reabilitate or maintain your life. you are dead weight. we got new babies to take care of.

If two people are within a day either side of the age of consent, then bloody well wait a day..

as for punishing pedophiles, I've said it before, death. I'd suggest worse, but canada does not allow torture. I have no sympathy for lawbreakers.

Well I think that most of us can agree that we all have a disgust for pedophiles, however I find it a bit sick when the ACLU goes up to bat for NAMBLA, saying that NAMBLA has a right to publish articles on how to rape children. However it seems that we need more officers on the streets to help make this country one of the best in the world.

PS: if Canada goes overboard and legalizes all drugs, prostitution, and pedophilia, then I'm movin to the US and joining the LAPD.

I have no idea who this NAMBLA group is, but being a public advocate only goes so far.

Freedom of expression does not extend to those who promote hatred, or illegal activity. I find it sickening that there might be some association that is pro-paedophile and is trying to lobby for its legitimization...

Wishful thinking, and i think they have about as much of a chance as the KKK would if they attempted to publish a document on how to commit a murder on some ethnic minority and get away with it.

NAMBLA - Stands for North American Man Boy Love Association. If you do a search on Google or yahoo you should be able to find them.

I know very little about them other than the name alone is repulsive. I am not aware of any official position the Gay community has taken toward them or if such a position exists.

There doesn't seem to be much mention of them at all in the mainstream media that I could find. I have no idea how big they are or how much if any influence they have.

Their very notions are so ridiculous I can't see how they'd ever make any political headway anywhere.

If anyone else has more information perhaps they could follow up on this.
