Dion is calling on Harper today to answer the question, is there a deceit and to open the books before the election. The media keeps hinting that there may be one and I think the rule should be that when an election is called the seating government opens the books so Canadians will know. The Min. of Finance left Ontario with a 5.6 BI debt, so what has he done with the Canadian debt??

When you want to be richer and maintain that richness - you must depend on human nature - or the lowest part of it - like standing on a bridge over the High Way Of Heros and saluting a passing corpse. Is that because perhaps Harper has used the unemployment surplus? He's got 2 Billion in a new fund for unemployment but what happen to the 55-58 Billion surplus? Do you know? I'm sure if he's not in a deficit, he'll show us the money!

There simply cannot be a deficit. Amanda Lang of BNN asked Jim Flaherty 3 times if there was going to be a deficit. Of course everyvbody in Ontario knows what kind of guy Jim Flaherty is and how much you can believe Jim when it comes to deficits.

I know that Mike Harris balanced the budget of Ontario after a $9 BILLION deficit (the biggest ever) under Bob Rae and then Flaherty balanced the budget EVERY YEAR he was finance minister until Mike Harris resigned.

You can say what you want about Ernie Eves and what he did because even PC supporters feel betrayed by his legacy, but when you talk about Flaherty's record in Ontario why don't you ask Dalton McGuinty why he's whining about budget problems after something like $24 Billion worth of spending increases along with higher taxes since 2003.

Flaherty used some clever accounting tricks as well. By private sector standards, he did not balance every deficit until Harper resigned. (selling a highway would not bring you out of a deficit in the private sector.
