bush_cheney2004 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Haven't we already determined that there was no credible proof of spitting taking place? Who is "we"? We you in the United States at airports and bus stations, or protest marches? Don't you know where the term "baby killer" cane from...it wasn't Roe v Wade. By the way, my friend Dan, well he told someone once that I voluteered for something brave too... Can you or your friend pilot the F-102? Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
WIP Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Will the left care as much as the Dick Cheney's deferments? No! And if you want to know why, it goes beyond partisan politics to the fact that worst cockroaches in politics are chickenhawks, who dodged the draft when it was their turn, but want to send everyone else's kids off to war when they are middle-aged leaders of society. Liam Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 I think they have learned.....as evidenced by the subsequent invasions and/or military actions. The application of raw American military power has not been absent since Vietnam, with the possible exception of Jimmy Carter. It has just become more politically acceptable if the casualty containers flying to Dover AFB are much fewer in number. <<The Nixon Youth's lesson is that military power is best used with clear objectives, against identifiable enemies, and not in half-way measures when necessary.>> No, the Nixon Youth (Bush, Cheney, Perle) did NOT learn its Vietnam lesson any more than the Abby Hoffmans and Susan Sarandons. bush_cheney2004 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 No! And if you want to know why, it goes beyond partisan politics to the fact that worst cockroaches in politics are chickenhawks, who dodged the draft when it was their turn, but want to send everyone else's kids off to war when they are middle-aged leaders of society. Ergo...President Clinton is a "cockroach" chickenhawk? C'mon..he wasn't that bad. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
WIP Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Ergo...President Clinton is a "cockroach" chickenhawk? C'mon..he wasn't that bad. Yes he was! But at least he was self-conscious enough to bomb the crap out of Serbia rather than risk putting the boots on the ground that would have brought the war to a quicker, less destructive conclusion. What? Bombing good but boots on the ground are bad? That worked out quite well for Rwanda. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
WIP Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 What? Bombing good but boots on the ground are bad? That worked out quite well for Rwanda. It certainly was bad if you were living in Serbia! But Clinton was afraid to put U.S. soldiers in harms' way after the Somalia disaster. At least it minimized the risk to U.S. military personnel. But George Bush has not demonstrated any similar reluctance; even using deception and fraud to get soldiers into Iraq. But George Bush has not demonstrated any similar reluctance; even using deception and fraud to get soldiers into Iraq. Oh. So you'd have felt better if Bush had just bombed Iraq, like Clinton bombed Serbia? Interesting. So it's more about U.S. casualties, and screw the rest of the world, cause they're lives aren't as important? Edited September 5, 2008 by Shady Quote

So it's more about U.S. casualties, and screw the rest of the world, cause they're lives aren't as important? Apparently it's that simple....so it's bomb, bomb, bomb....bomb bomb Iran and nobody will care, except the Iranians. I guess General Curtis LeMay was right. Hot pickle...bombs away! Don't you know where the term "baby killer" cane from...it wasn't Roe v Wade. Can you or your friend pilot the F-102? Interesting, check out this link... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spitting_Image , not sure anyone can say for sure. Now, as far as F-102's are concerned for my friend and I... no, but we've never tried! What does that have to do with my comment anyway? My point (much like an F-102 over your head ) was that anyone can claim just about anything, it sure doesn't necessarily mean it's true though. Well President Bush did try...he is a US veteran who type qualified in the F-102 at a time when that airframe was used in combat. We will never know for sure about his intentions to volunteer for 'Nam, but earning pilot's wings is a pretty stupid way to avoid that possibility. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Thats fantastic for Bush, good for him, and no we won't, but you stated it as fact. Earning ones wings in the Guard is a pretty good way to avoid combat, as is leaving early to work on a campaign.
