BubberMiley Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 President McCain has a nice "Tom Clancy novel" ring to it. Yes, I like the idea of it remaining as fiction too. Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
BubberMiley Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 It's crazy to suggest that McCain is a closet Democrat or he's to the left of Hillary Clinton. McCain approached Tom Daschle in 2001 to negotiate switching parties. He also discussed running as VP for Kerry in 2004. He is also to the left of Clinton on many key issues, such as illegal immigration. McCain is on the same page as Ted Kennedy on that one. Shady Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 McCain has more reasons for Republicans to dislike him. He's pro-choice. He's a flip-flopper (anti-war/pro-war)No. John McCain is pro-life. And no, John McCain isn't/wasn't anti-war. He criticized the strategy in Iraq and believed more troops were needed to accomplish the mission. Quote
HisSelf Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Talk radio in the US is no different than a billboard. You have hosts who hang up on anyone who disagrees with them. The result is that people who disagree with the hosts do not call in. Putting it all together.... Talk radio is essentially a platform for the people who hire talk radio hosts. Quote ...

I listen to Rush Limbaugh from time to time, and he puts liberals who call in ahead of any callers on hold. Quote
Rue Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I happen to think that some of these rightwing pundits have an inflated sense of their own importance and it bothers them that they didn't predict McCain's nomination or that McCain seems to do his own thing. Dunno. I think you hit the home run with the above analysis. McCain say what you want does what he thinks is right not what he thinks will pacify his enemies. Probably something to do with being tortured and refusing to be pressured. Some call that integrity, others character, others bull-headedness. Quote
