Media is reality for most. What else to they have to go by? The big screen TV. is the new alter of worship...and those in the west are very religious about entertainment. The Roman populace of old was the same..Hockey and football gladiators are encouraged to flatten each others face while the people are soothed by violence. Stange and wonderful way of ruling a population..through base stimulation. Quote

It's marriage to violence lately is more disturbing than most realise. WRT Hollywood stars running for Pres - well it's like you said, as well as MountainMan: Name recognition. Easily marketable, easily controlled (afterall actors a good at taking direction - or they wouldn't be actors. Sort of a ready made human puppet - of course a pre-requisite for being a politician anyways. They're like actors who don't have any physically redeaming qualities ). I can think of 2 more but that's about it. Given that in the near century of hollywood, 3 or even 30 would not be so much compared to the 10s of thousands of non hollywood types.
