You might notice a few things changing with regards to the forum design. I'm putting the final touches on the new templates that will finally integrate the forum design with the main Mapleleafweb design.

In the spirit of keeping everyone happy, I am allowing members to select between the new design templates and the old standard Invisionboard templates. If you want to keep the forum design the same way is has been for the past few years, log into your account, and scroll to the bottom of the forum website. You'll see a small drop down box, select, IPB 2.2.0 Default, which will allow you to see the forum in the old style templates.

If you have any problems with the new design please feel free to contact me directly or respond in this thread,

Thanks!

Thanks for your efforts to continually improve MLW. The new template seems to assume a 800x600 screen resolution so that what you get is a strip down the middle of the screen with lots of white space on both sides. I believe, and I stand to be corrected, that most people have monitors good enough to use a minimum of 1024x768 and in fact are using that.

Just a thought.

I use several monitors and none of them are less than 1200 pixels wide. In my opinion, the best website design would automatically resize according to the space available in the client window - a fixed width approach is definitely a step backward. Edited by Riverwind

Yes, you are right. Web developers are sometimes hostage to their techonology and it can be a choice who has to use horizontal scroll.

Good work. I will have to decide what is the best format for me but thanks for your efforts.

Very good point. Obviously I have been talking out of the wrong orifice here.

Job well done, the larger font is easier to read for me. I have vision issues, well I'm half blind on a good day and it's so much easier to read the new formatt. I'm not puckering up or anythang but thankyou to whom ever made the changes.

I like the new format.

I'm impressed that forum members are given the choice to revert back to the original format. I appreciate that the preferences of members are taken into consideration when changes are made to the MLW format.

Hoping that these kudos earn me brownie points.

For real, thanks.

I use a much higher resolution than what the new site is designed at, so unfortunately I had to switch back to the original. I'm not used to reading or writing posts in such a small box. It's hard to read with such little continuity between lines IMO.

But oh well, to each their own. If your used to the smaller resolution, the new site definitely is pretty sharp.

Same issue with me,although I do like the new MLW Masthead.

Having it will make it real easy to check out the whole site more often.

Can it be added to the old version?
