  1. Good God. Are you going to start posting quotes from the latest Harry Potter novel to support your beliefs next?
  2. Stay tuned for my EXCLUSIVE interview with Santa.
  3. You may be hearing from PocketRocket's lawyers....
  4. Calling Martin and/or the Liberal Party of Canada "corrupt" is, clearly, much different. While I find the term evil to be generally nonsensical, something like it could easily, and justifiably, be applied to a group determined to prevent the equal treatment of all people. ]
  5. So why hasn't the original poster retracted his statements by editing his post yet?
  6. The worst of the Gomery report has come and gone. The Liberals have seen the worst of whats coming... it'll only get better for them. Actually, the NDP, when contrasted with Harper's cut taxes and increase spending policy from last election, are pretty fiscally responsible. Well, to be fair, they don't even try.
  7. And the optimist of the year award goes to........ YODELER! Wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole??? Many believe that Klein bludgeoned him pretty good with a large pole in the last election. Ralph "skipping work to go fishing on tax payers jets" Klein talking about honour and forthrightness? Ralph "hires a fraudulant consultant" Klein talking about scandal free governments? Surely I've heard it all now.
  8. Its not that simple, really. In the global market, a reduction in consumption across all of Canada would have a negligible effect on gas prices. The oil companies would simply sell more to the likes of China and India, nations that are always willing to buy more. The people hardest hit by high gas prices aren't the ones out shopping for Smart cars while sipping a latte. They're the ones scouring the bargain finder for a car they can buy for as little as possible so they can get to work and keep their job after the last beater died. Likely because you're viewing the issue through decidedly middle class/upper class eyes.
  9. I generally agree. Though in the last election, these swing voters handed over seats to Conservatives by jumping ship from an NDP candidate that likely would have won, resulting in large vote splitting. That sort of thing has the potential to cause major problems if the number of swing voters gets much larger.
  10. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Look at the poll history. Every time Harper creepes up to a substantial level of support, its followed shortly thereafter by a large drop in support. Combined with Harper saying "When I'm Pm..." (what... 6 times in a single speech?), you have a recipe for Conservative disaster. ps. I know where I'd like to shove those "insults," bud.
  11. By all means, say something worthy of discussion. I'm not holding my breath, though.
  12. A predictable consequence of Canadians hearing Harper say "When I'm PM..."
  13. Thats rather elitist of you to say, given that he is far and away the most trusted party leader by a large margin.
  14. Well, in the future we can save a lot of money by simply asking Argus what really happened. No more inquiries, no more criminal trials. Such things will be obsolete in this nation. We'll just get our answers from the oracle of Argus.
  15. Anyone that resigns as an MP to go work for a lobby organization, and then claims that if he becomes PM, will pass a law prohibiting former MP's from lobbying for 5 years is a deceitful hypocrite. Its as simple as that. Anyone that claims that, if he becomes PM, will reform election finance laws, but as of yet has not reported his campaign funding for the last election is more than a little suspicious. Why doesn't Harper introduce his nice little package on his next little opposition day? Then he'd have a little credibility. The thing is, the Liberals don't really have to portray Harper in that way. As long as there are media outlets at Harper's press releases, there will be more than enough to sink Harper, straight from the pastel cowboys lips.
  16. Its pretty dishonest to try to equivocate between explaining and justifying.
  17. Basically, Harper has avoided doing his job as an MP for this entire term. I can't think of any other job where a person could get away with publicly declaring "I don't like my co-workers, so I refuse to do anything!" Thats a tough record to run on.
  18. Theres no chance of that happening. Nothing will cool the Conservative's poll numbers like the actual possibility of them forming government. Particularly when that shining exemplar of principle, Mr. Harper, has all but declared his previous actions to be unethical andhas yet to formally declare his campaign finances from the last election (I wonder why?. Look for all of this to become oft repeated if the government falls. Anger at the Liberals will be very quickly replaced with horror at the idea of a Conservative government.
  19. Doubtful. Bong smoke doesn't seem to be helping you get the point.
  20. I'm not sure if you've ever had to study a technical document, but there are a lot of things external to the document itself to consider. Issues such as jurisdiction, constitutionality, other currently existing law, etc. Imagine that! Trying to get something accomplished, rather than "principled" truancy from their job, makes them look good! Thats right! And whatever the two of them decide over a latte at Starbucks will be passed into law, without consultation or vote, in the commons!
  21. So you read a "kook-left" website, and then extrapolate to the left as a whole? Do you not understand why that might be problematic? Damn, I fed the trolls again. :/
  22. Why do you have such a problem with providing explanations that have held up in sociological studies for quite some time?
  23. Well, more or less. I don't think that he has principles beyond what happens to be useful for him at the time. Not quite the radical change in governmental style that Mr. Harper likes to pretend, is it? Well, lets see. Harper's economic beliefs are circa 1900, his social beliefs..oh I dunno... circa 1450, to be generous. In what way is this man "progressive?"
  24. Are you seriously suggesting that he is motivated by the same goals as that dastardly Liberal party?!
  25. Harper, this great man of principle, is now proposing to pass into law precisely what he mounted a court challenge against while president of the NCC. Much like Harper's thoughts on the privatization of health care changed when he became leader of the Conservatives. My only question is, was he lying then or is he lying now?
