    I've seen several interviews with the migrants who have reached Germany and/or are headed for Sweden. They're eager to get their papers so they can bring over their families. So 25,000 quickly becomes 100,000. Besides, Mulcair has already increased his numbers to maybe 10,000 a year. God only knows how many that wuss Trudeau will be bringing in.

    I'd like to address this. I'm not entirely comfortable with the in-your-face demands of the gay community that I have to 'respect' them as being completely the same as everyone else.. I admit, in other words to some disapproval, and even then mostly on a case by case basis. But I sure as hell would be opposed to putting them in prison, let alone executing them. Nor would I befriend those who do feel that way, and would not be thrilled at the idea of bringing hundreds of thousands of such people to Canada. Your suggesting those who frown at two gay men holding hands should welcome those who want to kill them is foolish. It's like saying that since I'm conservative I shouldn't be critical of Nazis. Or if I'm left wing I shouldn't be critical of Communists. I don't like extremists of any ilk, be they political or religious. I don't find that funny. I find it stupid and hypocritical.

    The only way this ends at all well is, believe or not, If Putin decides to end it. He's the only world leader with the power to do so. If he, as some suggest he might, sends in Russian troops and aircraft that could end the Syrian conflict, cut the legs out from under ISIS and make their operations in Iraq unsustainable. The Western powers don't have the balls to send troops in, and the Arabs don't have the will or reliable troops. The Turks could do it, but they're more Pro ISIS than they like to let on. Putin could end this in a couple of months, then do a quick changeout of someone else for Asad.

    My focus is and has always been on the misogynistic mindset behind such acts, not on the acts themselves. You don't get rid of the acts until you change the mindset. And I do not welcome that mindset from whatever part of the world where it thrives. I do not want it here in small part or large.

    Who is talking about undermining the legal system? The law is a reflection of society. The more misogyny in society, the more misogyny there will be in our laws. Can you deny that?

    The Muslim world has something like 60 countries in it, so it's more than slightly dishonest to bleat about it having had more female leaders than Canada. The Muslim world is also filled with tribalism, and the only female leaders it has had were members of ruling families where there were no male relatives available. And while FGM isn't practiced throughout the Muslim world misogyny takes many forms, and that IS heavily present throughout the Muslim world, especially in the ME. Maybe they don't practice FGM in Afghanistan or Pakistan but they still beat the shit out of any woman who dares to show the slightest sign of independence - or even dares to show her face.

    And you know this how? I've interacted with a ton of newcomers to Canada and I have yet to meet anyone who came here because they admire our legal system. Every one I have met came here because we're a lot richer than where they came from and they hope to live in a big house and drive a big car, and have their kids live in an even bigger house and drive an even bigger car.

    Yeah, I hadn't even caught that part of his post. Not that there might not be a few adult women who get it, pressured by society, but almost all FGM is done to little girls against their will.

    I know why people do it. They do it because of an oppressive cultural view which says that female sexuality is evil and dangerous and causes nothing but trouble. That cultural view of female sexuality is prevalent throughout the Muslim world. The act itself, like child marriage, like domestic abuse, like honor killing, is merely an reflection of the cultural mindset behind it. You're willing to condemn the act but run like a terrified sheep at the thought of confronting the cultural mindset behind it.

    Why? Are we not letting Muslims vote? Are their numbers not growing? Do a million voters have no impact on the culture or political views of a nation? What about two million? Five million? At what point do you think they'll begin to have any influence? They'll NEVER have any influence? Seriously? Is that your position?

    A very small percentage of women in the West get breast implants because they have issues with self confidence and appearance. And it's essentially harmless and reversible. I doubt many were dragged off to a doctor when they were nine to have them shoved into their bodies against their will. Africa, and you mostly mean north Africa, where Islam is widespread, might do it because there is such a brutal, anti-female cultural attitude among the cultures there that they give into it. It means they can never really have any sexual pleasure, either through sex or masturbation. They surrender ever having any sexual pleasure because their cultures think that should only be for men. You cannot honestly equate this to a woman who gets implants.

    Because willingly getting breast implants to make yourself feel better about your appearance is the same as being forced to have your clitoris removed.

    Laws are written by governments which are elected by people. The more people in the electorate who support beating women and mutilating children, the more politicians they will vote into power, and the softer the laws against such practices will become.

    So? Do you really think I support that? The question is why do people who allegedly are in favour of gay rights and female equality support bringing in hundreds of thousands of people who violently oppose both those concepts to Canada?

    Are you really going to try and equate the individual acts of a few crazies, all of whom have been arrested for life, with the collective acts of large groups of people who kill in cold, deliberate blood to defend the family honor? None of whom have been punished by societies which don't give a damn? Are you so desperately desperate to defend the brutal, misogynistic cultures of the ME you're going to try to compare domestic killings in Canada with the widespread domestic abuse in countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan and Egypt?!

    Our culture might have an unhealthy obsession with sexual attractiveness on the part of both sexes, but that's a hell of a far cry from cutting off little girl's clitorises because you fear they'll become whores otherwise. And while you might protest at the sexualized clothing of young girls, society has made it very clear that young girls are completely off limits, even for pictures, let alone any sexual behaviour, right up to 18. Meanwhile, there is an unhealthy obsession with little girls as sex partners in the middle east, derived from the fact the prophet married a 9 year old girl, which you completely ignore. Nobody even knows the degree of child rape going on in the region because no one would ever report such things to the police. Besides, what's worse, a culture which makes girls dress up attractively, or one which throws black ghost sheets over their heads and orders them to be invisible upon pain of beatings or death?

    You don't have the intellectual honesty to deal with your own behaviour. Go ahead and keep proclaiming your innocence while you defend repressive, brutal, misogynistic and homophobic cultures in the name of being inclusive and open-minded. You might fool yourself, but you're not fooling me. And I don't give a shit if I'm offending you. Your self-delusional defense of such things disgusts me.

    The problem is that these acts are a product of the religion based culture of the ME, and when you bring over hundreds of thousands of people from that area, to join together with hundreds of thousands more already here, you help build up a subset culture here within Canada which is self-sustaining. They have their own community centres, their own mosques, their own gathering places, where that cultural mindset is supported and reinforced. I don't WANT hundreds of thousands, let alone millions of people in Canada with that kind of barbaric value set.

    Of course they do! Of course you do! That's what you've been doing for the last several pages! Oh, you don't specifically defend the acts, but you earnestly defend the brutal and misogynistic cultures behind those acts from any and all judgement or criticism! And in doing so, you are, in effect, defending the acts themselves.

    The societies and cultures and values of that region are very tightly closed and intertwined in a very conservative, deeply observant religious grip. And there is virtually no room to question them because if it's the will of God, then you don't question that. If you do you get arrested or killed for blasphemy or insulting God. The only way it's ever going to change is through outside pressure. Unfortunately, there is NO such pressure coming from the Left, only from the Right. You won't find Obama criticising Egyptian society for mutilating girls, or Mulcair or Trudeau talking about the need for ME governments to put in legislation to combat domestic violence or respect womens rights. That's for damn sure! You won't even see them uttering a peep of protest about the vicious homophobic cultures and government laws there. That wouldn't be respectful of their cultures, after all! No, what you'll see them doing is berating Israel and putting their arms around Arab leaders for photo ops to show how inclusive they are. And you, of course, are a prime example of the Left here. No criticism of any of the brutal misogeny and violent homopobia is acceptable to you - unless it's about the Catholics, of course, or the Jews. Any attempt to point out how backward and brutal many aspects of ME culture is draw you stumbling forward to frantically defend them and proclaim Canada is just as bad!

    The one constant of Canadian cultural and political discussion is that any suggestion that some other culture or religion elsewhere in the world is bad for some reason, or has bad things about it or is in desperate need of change, will draw left wingers falling all over themselves to proclaim that Canada is just as bad, if not worse. The only reason that could be in any way honest is if Canada's society, culture and values were exactly the same as those of say Egypt or Afghanistan or Pakistan. That clearly isn't the case. We're clearly far and away more tolerant, enlightened and culturally advanced. But those on the left continually defend the most horrific behaviour on the part of other nations or cultures out of sheer stupid ideological need to be seen as embracing other cultures. In this way you are most definitely holding yourself up as a defender and enabler of all those acts which other try to condemn. You might say you're against that vicious misogynistic mindset which sees women as sex slaves, but you won't accept or allow any criticism of the cultures which practice it. None. These are conservative religious based cultures which are never going to change from the inside, particularly since women are so repressed there. They'll only change under outside pressure, and you do your utmost to fight off such pressure any way you can.
