They are lies and bleary-eyed fanaticism of a raving lunatic with Bush Derangement Syndrome. -
So the Dept of Foreign Affair’s International Policy Statement saying, "Canada will focus on making a distinctive contribution to help build a more secure world, in particular with regard to failed and fragile states" is a bunch of BS? Working to build a strong, self-sufficient democracy in the heart of the Middle East is "none of our goddamn business"?

Argus: Of course I know what the word means. Apparently my attempt at facetiousness went over your head. And you are the last one that should be lecturing on rocket science. You are the one who seems incapable of graspng the fact that the US has local, state and federal govts, and that this is the order in which crises are dealt with. Enlighten us. And when you are done, please enlighten us on Canada's inner-city slums. Is it a blight on Canada too? You ever see the conditions that the majority of Native Aboriginals live in? I guaran-damn-tee you that the underclass in the US is far better off than Canada's poor. So your suggestion is what? Higher taxes? Taxing the hardworking wealthy even more? And after telling us your suggestion(s), please email them to Canada's govt since Canada has no national policy for this. How is one supposed to take "This is again a failure of leadership on both sides of the House, but primarily by Republicans......But the Republicans are too short sighted to care about that. Cut taxes! Cut taxes! Sure. There's a good idea"?

Incomes taxes up 11.8% in past year

Cartman: Many are forced to go to the US and spend their money there. However the poor cannot afford to go to get healed in the USA. They can't afford to pay twice (once through Canada's high taxation and then again in the USA). So they get screwed. And the people that can afford it also get screwed by having to pay twice for healthcare. -
September 2, 2005 Your thoughts on this? Comments? I find it frightening that this international unaccountable corrupt organization would have the authority to implement and collect a global tax. John Bolton, please stop this.

mirror: You came to that conclusion because of one point in a poll? How do you explain the poll posted here the other day that showed that more Americans blamed local and state authorities than the Bush Administration? Well, at least he stays in the country; unlike Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew who appears to spend more time in the red-light district of Paris than in Canada, and was in Paris when the tsunami devastated South Asia last December and, along with a holidaying Prime Minister Paul Martin, was critisized for Canada’s sluggish response in the first days after the disaster. He didn't return to Ottawa for several days. Pettigrew was again caught in Paris during the terrorist attacks in London. And when bombers struck a market in Sharm el-Sheikh, a popular Egyptian tourist spot, his parliamentary secretary, MP Dan McTeague, was brought out to answer media questions about possible Canadian casualties. What Bush should have done was show some of that class that the Democrats show. Like when NO's Democrat Mayor Nagin launched an obscentiy-laced tirade at the feds on the radio, and then suggested that if something happens to him and he disappears, it would be because of the CIA. Or like when that Democrat LA Senator said that if the Bush Administration continued to question the tepid response by the state and local authorities, she would literally punch Bush in the face. Or like when Democrat LA governor Blanco refused to allow the feds to co-ordinate the disaster because she feared Bush would be playing politics. Democrats: They're all class.

Argus: Let me try to figure out this convoluted thinking. You say that the Republicans are primarily at fault because not every US citizen is working and producing. Are you now blaming Bush because single person in the US is not working? Then you mock Bush for cutting taxes. After inheriting a recession, having 2 corporate scandals happen early in his first term, and then having the economic whammy of 9/11, the unemployment rate had rose to 6.4% in Bush's first term. In Canada, 6.4% is considered a fantastically low unemployment rate, but the Americans are far more demanding and some were calling for Bush's head (even though there is only so much a President can do regarding the economy). Bush then issued more tax cuts which has resulted in a roaring economy, increased govt revenues, and reduced the deficit. Are you unaware that the US unemployment rate is now 4.9% - a full 2 points less than Canada's?

Since the Bush tax cuts have the economy roaring, increased the govt coffers, and resulted in a decrease of the deficit, you just dissed yourself. -

Argus: I see you've been visiting the Democratic Underground Message Board lately. Btw, those 5 people convicted of voter fraud in June 2005 were...Democrats! And don't get me started on the crap they pulled to steal the Washington State governorship. There is a reason why they are called the Party of Graft and Corruption. Anyone who is unaware that Bush's tax cuts resulted in increased govt revenues and resulted in a drop in the deficit, should not be referring to others as idiots. Also, your "Corps official fired for questioning contracts" title is misleading. She was demoted for doing a poor job. That can happen if you do a poor job. I haven't heard that but since they are the best at what they do, I see no reason for them not to do the cleanup. Halliburton got no-bid contracts from the Clinton Administration too. Any business that has bid on a government contract knows it can take up to a year to go through the normal bidding process. This is unacceptable during emergencies. Halliburton has been making 1.5% to 3.7% net profit for their Iraq stint. For most businesses, 6% is a decent average net profit. Halliburton: Profitless Profiteering -

Those Evil Greedy Corporations™ that the left hates: - Ford Motor Company is allowing customers affected by the Katrina to defer payments for the next 2 months, penalty free. - For those with two and four-legged friends, Petco is holding a national fundraiser through their stores, asking customers to "round up" their purchase to help those critters in need. - Anheuser-Busch is sending more than 300,000 cans of clean drinking water. - Lowe's is not only matching customer donations to the American Red Cross up to $1 million, they're on the case with trucks and supplies. - The left's favorite whipping boy, Wal-Mart 1) already gave $1 million to the Salvation Army, 2) is using all 3800 stores to raise money, 3) is sending trucks and trucks of supplies, and 4) have already gotten a store in Kenner, LA open for supplies. -

Louisiana Democrat Senator threatens to punch Bush in the face if if local officials come under anymore criticism. Typical Democrat. Threatening violence as usual when someone dares to comment on their ineptitude. Governor Blanco finally authorizes the use of school buses for Katrina evacuations. How many lives might have been saved? How many families might have been spared their curent agony of searching, hoping, and praying for the return of their lost children, if Blanco hadn't shirked her duty? More Bush Derangement Syndrome, "George Bush doesn't care about black people": Rapper Kanye West said this on the air during the Red Cross Katrina fundraiser on NBC. Mike Myers (standing next to West) looked like he was going to barf as he listened to West's hateful race-baiting comments. This is the same Kanye West who believes that the US govt administers AIDS and that Bush gave Saddam anthrax. This prompted the liberal Time Magazine to put West on the cover of their magazine last week, calling him "the smartest man in pop music". The Red Cross has been deluged with complaints about West's rant and have issued a press release saying they are an impartial organization and that they do not endorse any comments of a political nature. -

Brad Wall is the leader of the Sask Party. Devine has nothing to do with the Sask Party. And the liberal-controlled media in Saskatchewan loves the far-left NDP, despite their persistent hostility to business (Sask has the highest corporate taxes in Canada) and their shameful expansion of govt, thereby creating more unionized govt jobs to soak the hardworking taxpayer. Just a couple of reasons why Saskatchewan loses so many of its young to Alberta.

There speaks an open mind. There is a segment of "conservatives" who know little or nothing about conservative ideology, know little or nothing about what it means to even be conservative, but boy oh boy do they hate. They despise anyone they believe is a liberal. To them the very term is an obscenity. Utterly intolerent, chanting their godly credo, usually pretty racist, unthinking robots who, in another place, another age, would have been perfect fodder for the SS or the Red Guards. There are too many of those types infesting the body politic in the US. Oddly, in Canada, their counterparts are mostly liberal or socialist. Though I must say their hatred and contempt is somewhat milder. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Says the tolerant compassionate unhateful one who accuses Bush of wanting kill ni**ers and links to Paul Krugman and Maureen Dowd; the one who has been spewing his blinding hatred of Bush the last couple of days and incredibly is blaming Bush for the dead in Louisiana. Spoken like a true hate-filled LLL. And of course, Argus refuses to reply to my comment. The truth must hurt. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Montie - I see why you named yourself after a cartoon character. And a doddering, helpless, stupid, uncaring one at that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> More insults and you still haven't replied to my comment. At the very least, you could learn to spell "Monty" correctly.

Gee. Local Democrat officials critisize the Bush Administration. I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell you.

Shoe shopping while NO sinks... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What's your point? The Secretary of State's primary duties are advising the President in the determination and execution of US foreign policy, conducting negotiations with foreign representatives, providing instructions to US ministers and consuls abroad, little of which directly bears on coordinating disaster relief within the US

Canadians pay less tax when healthcare is factored in? What a bunch of nonsense. Tell me, do you use 11 full weeks of pay for your healthcare every year? Then again, maybe you do. Something that is perceived to be free is usually abused. And the lower 50% of Canadians pay far more taxes than the lower 50% of Americans?! And how can you claim that the wealthy in Canada don't pay their share? Do you want to tax them even higher? Quit the class warfare schtick. Your constant demonization of the productive and ambitious will backfire one day if they leave. Then who will pay nearly all the taxes? Joe and Mary $20,000 per annum salary? One of the things that highly-taxed Saskatchewan laments about is all the wealthy people (who fill up the govt coffers) leaving for lower-taxed Alberta. -

Cartman: Yeah, I don't understand how anyone would come to that conclusion. Just because he implied that Bush didn't care about the people of New Orleans because they were ni**ers (his word, not mine). And just because he blames Bush for not doing the job of the NO mayor and LA governor. How in the world could anyone possibly come to the conclusion that he is inflicted with Bush Derangement Syndrome? It just seems so bizarre. -

I would argue Bush was elected to spend money wisely, not to cut taxes by borrowing money which will have to be paid off in future years. You would argue wrongly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Grrrr. I'm so envious of your tax cuts. Easy enough to do. All we need to do is run a $50 billion budget deficit, then we could massively cut taxes too. And a budget which is not only balanced but in surplus. Or have you forgotten that, Mr. "conservative"? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps Canadians will get another annual $16 "tax cut", Mr Liberal... With a $9 billion surplus, I am sure our benevolent govt can give us peons back $16 of our money. But then again any kind of a tax cut is "Americanizing" Canada, an absolute no-no to the brainwahed sheep who watch the CBC.
