Go get 'em Geraldo! Damn that Bill O'Reilly for giving Geraldo a chance to defend himself and allowing the tape to be shown on TV! Seriously though, it appears that the Bush-bashing liberal NYT is going after Geraldo because he recently said he considered himself a conservative liberal, or liberal conservative (I forget which but I saw him say that on Fox a couple of weeks ago when someone referred to him as a liberal). I know that Geraldo has done some dumb things in the past (drawing locations in the sand of US troops positions in Iraq while on the air; the Al Capone's vault fiasco), but he does not deserve to be slandered like this. The video is here

Wow, what a well thought out and considered response. Your invaluable contribution to raising the level of debate is greatly appreciated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know he/she's right. The 5 exclamation marks proves it!!!!!

The left outed once again
Montgomery Burns replied to B. Max's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Argus: What's that got to do with the price of tea in china? Louisiana has received more funds than any other state, under the Bush Administration. Louisiana has received more aid than any other state during the 5 years of the Bush Administration [snip] "But over the five years of President Bush's administration, Louisiana has received far more money for Corps civil works projects than any other state, about $1.9 billion; California was a distant second with less than $1.4 billion, even though its population is more than seven times larger." The irony meter just exploded. No one but the most fanatical Bush-haters would be trying to pin the blame on Bush for the failings of LA's Democrat Governor and NO's Democrat Mayor. Incredible (il)logic. Bush gives the people their money back through tax cuts and Argus calls this thievery on the part of Bush. -
The left outed once again

Black Dog: No. It is not an interview with a Fox News correspondent. It is a Fox News correspondent interviewing Hugh Reading comprehension skills doesn't appear to be your strong point. From your link: Acess to New Orleans is controlled by the National Guard and local authorities and while we are in constant contact with them, we simply cannot enter New Orleans against their orders. Again, reading comprehension skills doesn't appear to be your strong point. Thanks for proving my point. Now, who is in charge of mobilizing the National Guard? Bush Administration has given more money to Louisiana than any other state. [snip] "But over the five years of President Bush's administration, Louisiana has received far more money for Corps civil works projects than any other state, about $1.9 billion; California was a distant second with less than $1.4 billion, even though its population is more than seven times larger." So after Nagin and Blanco finally came around and declared a state of emergency, Bush is irresponsible because he didn't chime in? And if he did, you would accuse him of playing political games. I'm only stating the truth and refuting the lies about Bush being responsible. Flaming! Now you're in trouble. Cartman and Mirror are going to be running to the moderator now and get you "punted". Cartman, Mirror, where are you two? *crickets chirping* Personally, I rarely go to Newsmax (too many damn pop-up ads). However, as I stated earlier, most of their news stories come from the leftwing Associated Press. As for their punditry: it is conservative because it is a conservative magazine and makes no bones about it. Duh! I find it telling that you had nothing to say about radical sites like awolbush.com and buzzflash.com. -
Mirror: You mean no assistance from Governor Blanco - who was sitting safely in Baton Rouge. You do realize that the feds can't run in until they are asked by the state. And Mayor Nagin had a chance to help his people by implementing city rules and getting those hundreds of buses in use to evacuate the poor. Instead he did nothing but Blame Bush! FYI, over the 5 years of the Bush Administration, Louisiana has received far more money for Corps Civil Works Projects than any other state; about $1.9 billion. California is a distant second at about $1.4 billion. Shamed them into cutting their vacations short? Who's "them" who were on vacation? And since when did the Secretary of State's duties become disaster relief? Selective Memory Syndrome, indeed. Good for Canada. However a search and rescue team reached one city 5 days before the US Army did. But the Louisiana Senator is a politician on a mission to discredit the federal govt's response and stick up for Louisiana’s response. Btw, the US Army is not the first responders in any emergency, nor is FEMA. It is the local police and the LA National Guard (which Blanco dithered over), which is under the control of the (Democratic Party) state Governor. The Secretary of Defense is in charge of disaster relief?

Why Has Greg Abdicated His Responsibilities
Montgomery Burns replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Then, in only one miraculous post in the thread "Why isn't Canada helping to promote democracy?, Why isn't Canada in Iraq?" Burns said: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1) Are you denying that the communism is on the left side of the political sphere? Are you denying that communists don't want a democracy in Iraq? 2) When someone advocates socialism, you are forbidden to conclude that they are socialist? If someone wants to call me a capitalist, they are free to do so. I won't go running to the moderator and complain. 3) It was a reply to Black Dog insults to me. However, I admit I shouldn't have taken the bait. I should have taken the high road. Curiously you failed to list Black Dog's insults. I find that telling. 4) I admit it was not the best choice of words, but I feel it is true. I think those Islamists are pussies for blowing up innocents and trying to prevent Iraq from becoming a democracy. Will you be offended if I call them Islamofascists. Historians call them Islamofascists. Or will you deem that offensive and not politically correct? Can I call people who blow up innocent men, women, and children - terrorists? Or do I have to call them militants and activists so I don't offend you? 5) When someone makes an over-the-top statement claiming that Iraq and Al Qaeda were never linked, they sound dumb. 6) What is incorrect about calling the CBC, Canada's state-run, taxpayer-funded, Soviet-style news service? -
Why Has Greg Abdicated His Responsibilities
Montgomery Burns replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Had you created a thread saying that hatred is evident in any political party, I would have gladly supported your efforts. This is not what you did. I do not believe you read my last post carefully. I never claimed you made such a statement so it cannot be said that I am constructing a straw man. I said that the thread title was inappropriate because it stereotyped an entire group of people and this is impossible to disprove (or prove). The only way to disprove that the left is hate filled, would be to cite a poll demonstrating that people who identify themselves as leftists also have reduced levels of hatred. I doubt that such a poll is available. This is stereotyping "The Ugly Hate Filled Left" This is not "Examples of Hatred from the Left" Not true. I have had several good debates here with people of all stripes. I enjoy diversity, but I do not tolerate stereotyping. You should follow examples of others on the right who post with sincerity and politeness. And BTW, it is not just you IMO. B.Max created a similar thread entitled " The left outed once again: A despicable lot". Individuals on the left may be despicable, but the entire lot? My fantasy? First, please refrain from thinking about or constructing my fantasies. That disturbs me. Second, I just think Greg should warn you, not ban you...not yet anyways. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1) Where's all the ugliness and hatred from the right in the Katrina aftermath? IT would be dishonest creating a thread titled "Hatred on both sides in the Katrina aftermath". 2) I find it telling that you are quibbling over how I titled that thread, but you were silent when one poster accused President Bush of sitting around doing nothing because it was only ni**ers dying warranted not a peep from you. Apparently the way I titled that thread was more offensive to you. And I never titled the thread "All of the left is ugly and hate-filled". I gave numerous (and could have given many many more) examples of the ugliness and hatred that popped up after Katrina. Indeed, it was another example of Bush Derangement Syndrome. Indeed, we saw many on this forum rushing in to politisize this tragedy. They know who they are. And you could not muster the energy to tell them to stop it. Perhaps you were too tired from complaining about the title of the thread. You even stated that the topic was illogical and that the thread and posts were "insane." Illogical? Insane? 3) It was not stereotyping. I provided numerous examples of deplorable conduct in the wake of a tragedy. Instead of stepping up to the plate and saying that it was deplorable conduct, apparently you wanted the thread deleted. And your argument that it was like titling a thread called "Hate-filled African Americans" was a strawman. The irony that you used an argument like that was probably not lost on others on this forum - in the wake of your silence about the 'ugly claim' (there, I said it) that one poster made about Bush not caring about the Katrina victims in LA because they were mostly ni**ers. 4) Now you backtrack and say "I just think Greg should warn you, not ban you...not yet anyways" after I called you out on your statement. I can't shake the feeling that you do not want anything posted on any topic that shows the left in a negative light, and if someone does post like that, you want them "punted". I hav noticed that many on the left seem to claim their free speech right, but when it comes to the right and free speech, it is another story. Who could ever forget the hypocrisy of those leftists camped outside Fox News in NYC (during the Republican National Convention) chanting that Fox News should be taken off the air. Then when a reporter from the NY Post confronted them, they said they were exercising their right to free speech. You should follow the example of others on the left who sincerely and amiably condemned the actions of many of their own for their deplorable antics (blaming Bush for the inaction of local and state officials) and attempts to politicize the Katrina tragedy. -
mirror: Apparently, you are unaware of all the corporate stores who have donated money and supplies to the victims of Katrina. I guess you ignored it because it doesn't your "corporations exploit people" meme. And what about all the money that has been donated individually? And yet you suggest the govt should be in charge of everything. Didn't you see the local and state govts response to Katrina?
-
Cartman: That's code for "I don't like it when the liberals are forced to back up their drivel on Fox News". How many times have we seen liberals who appear on Fox News get that misty "CBC doesn't ask me to back up my words" look in their eyes? No wonder so many liberals are chicken to appear on Fox News. More often than not, they end up looking like clowns. O'Reilly has, for months, been calling for Howard Dean to appear on The No-Spin Zone. Howard has refused to appear.

Why Has Greg Abdicated His Responsibilities
Montgomery Burns replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Are you speaking to mirror or into one ????Montgomery.... in all my time on this web, I've not seen another poster so brimming with hate and void of facts as yourself. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's rich - coming from someone who claims that there is no link between Al Qaeda and Saddam - and incredibly claimed that the US govt said so. Indeed, all you seem to do is spout things that aren't true and spew your searing hatred on this forum. -
Why Has Greg Abdicated His Responsibilities
Montgomery Burns replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The thread was appropriate because it was topical and showed the ugly side of the left - who were using dead people to further their political agenda. As for your African-Americans comment, it is a strawman's arguement. And it wasn't me who suggested that Bush was laughing about ni**ers dying. The fact that you said nothing about, yet whined when I pointed out the ugly hate-filled reaction of the left regarding the Katrina tragedy, tells me more about you than I want to know. People like you are scary. You want anything deleted or anyone censored who does not agree with your political agenda. For all the yapping I hear about tolerance, I rarely, if ever, see it. Oh, and Greg is back. And it appears that your wish of your opponents being "punted" turned into another fantasy, instead of reality. -

What a pathetic poll. All you did was insult Greg. And you think this will convince him to ban the people who dare to call you out on your outrageous posts?! Every question on your poll makes Greg looks like a boob/incompetent/lazy. -
Why Has Greg Abdicated His Responsibilities
Montgomery Burns replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The forum has seen Mirror's constant hate-filled posts. And yet when I post a thread called "The ugly hate-filled left, Bush Derangement Syndrome running amok", Mirror, incredibly, starts blubbering about how we need a "a more impartial moderator than Greg." I suspect that Greg has not banned me (like you so obviously want) or deleted that thread (like you so obviosuly want) is because I gave nearly 2 dozen examples of the left's ugly hate-filled politizing of this tragedy. And I could have given another 2 dozen more - easily. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING that I linked to was untrue. But because you want to blame this on Bush (you even have the bloody nerve to drop a Michael Moore link to prove your "theory") and it was proven that the Democrat-laden state of Louisiana screwed up bigtime, you want Greg to ban me for daring to point this out. Hardcore-leftists like you frighten me. You have no respect for debate, alternative views, i.e., truthful views, or anything that does not fit your world-view. The thought of someone like you being in a position of power is scary. I have a word to describe people like you, but I read Greg's "no-no" words and I will refrain. And FYI, Greg once sent me an email about my posting of an entire op-ed on this forum; he said it was a copyright violation even though I gave the link. He requested I not do that anymore. I didn't entirely agree with him, but I respected his wish and have never done it since. So it's hardly like we are in cahoots or anything...just in case you were going to bring up the "neocons-in-arms" theory. Mirror, if you can't back your sh*t up (ye of the Michael Moore and Linda Quaig links), then don't go whining to the moderator and ask for your opponents to be banned. It comes across as being... Don't go starting a thread about the moderator just because you get clobbered on nearly every thread. Echo chambers are boring! -

The ugly hate-filled Left
Montgomery Burns replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Translation again: I don't like it when people point out our ugly side. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think it's more like mirror is frustrated, having to try to have an intellectual debate with complete retards. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Speaking of complete retards, aren't you the one who said that there was no link between Iraq and Al Qaeda? What a maroon. -
Black Dog: A cuss-filled tirade on the radio is inexusable for the Mayor of New Orleans. It makes him look emotional - like the typical LLL. The "rest"/next paragraph from the liberal Washington Post: "The federal government stands ready to work with state and local officials to secure New Orleans and the state of Louisiana," White House spokesman Dan Bartlett said. "The president will not let any form of bureaucracy get in the way of protecting the citizens of Louisiana." Yet another example of Black Dog's intellectual dishonesty. Er, yes it does. Not only did the American public reject the Democrat's orgasmic embrace of Michael Moore, but after Bush was re-elected the Hollyweird crowd was cool to Moore, and then we had the ultimate glorious opportunity of reading the "you're fired" letter by Michael Moore's manager to Michael Moore.

The left outed once again
Montgomery Burns replied to B. Max's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The Red Cross carves Democrat Governor Blanco’s political tombstone The Red Cross disaster relief convoys were ready to roll into New Orleans on Monday or Tuesday, but Governor Blanco forbade it. Blanco treated the people of her state like cattle, withholding essential and easily available food, water, and medicine. Lots of those people, her citizens, died for lack of those intentionally withheld supplies – and the trained caregivers that go along with them. As the transcript says: To top it off, the people couldn’t have left if they wanted to because Governor Blanco didn’t sign an executive order authorizing the use of buses for evacuation until Thursday, Sept 1, and even had to amend it on Friday to allow the buses to be driven by people who don’t hold commercial drivers licenses. Also on that Friday, four days after the storm hit, she signed an executive order allowing caregivers from out of state to enter Louisianna and practice medicine, something the Red Cross now tells us she’d been forbidding during the crucial days earlier in the week. Let's compare Governor Blanco to Governor Bush - who had 4 hurricans in Florida last year. And let's compare Mayor Nagin to Mayor Guiliani in the aftermath of 9/11. Is there any doubt as to why the American public doesn't trust the Democrats to protect the US citizens? And yet the Democrats are trying to blame Bush. They, along with their allies in the liberal media, are trying to claim that the federal govt is supposed to micromanage every single hamlet, village, town, and city in the US - even though it is clearly stated that the locals come first, the state comes second, and the feds come last. Shame on you. Shame on you heartless politicizing a-holes! And yet more Blanco bumbling Capable of treating 100 patients simultaneously, staffed by top flight doctors and protected by their own SWAT team, they were bound and determined to get to New Orleans to render medical care to disaster victims. Guess who never could get the governor’s permission to Louisianna? Guess who ended up treating victims in Mississippi instead? Three guesses allowed, but the first 2 don't count. -

Next to the present one, of course. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not even remotely close. But instead of the self-loathing impotent LLL trying to hijack the thread into their favorite topic (bashing America), I'd like to get back to the topic. And I won't even mention the extremely embarrassing situation where the Canadian Parliament gave The International Don™, Kofi Annan, a standing ovation when he visited Canada. God, that was soooo embarrassing. But I digress.... What does the forum think of the UN implementing and collecting a global tax? I've given my view. What's yours? -
Only the communistica-left would call building a democracy in the Mid East "BS". err: And if they did, the left would be screaming bloody murder - just like they did with Iraq. In pictures - Saddam treating Iraqis well Free free free. Gimmie gimmie gimmie everything for free. I want free stuff from the "everything is free" fairy. Healthcare and post-secondary education is not free. And Saddam killed 1.5 million (a conservative estimate and not counting the war he started agaisnt Iran) of his citizens during his 25 year rule; 60,000/year. I'm going to take a wild guess and state that I believe that Err is a socialist who believes in stealing from the productive and giving to the non-productive, so they can everything for "free" - courtesy of the productive. Apparently you missed the memo where the US turned over ALL of the Iraqi oil operations to the Iraqi govt. Didn't Michael Moore mention that? Now you're drowning in the Kool-Aid. The US has repeatedly said that Al Qaeda and Iraq were linked. There is absolutely no doubt. This is an undisputed irrefutable fact. I've got better things to do than type all the evidence again. I suggest you look at the end of the Ann Coulter thread where I beat Black Dog....like a Dog, and forced him to give up like a broken beaten Black Dog. Since the Islamopussies can't beat the US in face to face combat, they have to resort to acts of terrorism against the innocent Iraqi people trying to establish a democracy. That is why terrorism has increased. All the better to have most of them in one spot to track and whack them. Saddam owned and operated a full-service general store for global terrorists, complete with cash, diplomatic aid, safe haven, training, and even medical attention for terrorists. And that is why Canada is unimportant in this world. You really really hate those brown-skinned Iraqis, don't you? Your contempt for them is disgustly racist. They are nothing but subhuman second-class savages to you, who deserve nothing better than to live under the heel of a mass-murdering dictator, right? Do you have any idea how dumb you sound? Enforcing a broken ceasefire and 17 Chapter VII (binding) UN resolutions is "illegal?" I suggest you read The Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq . This is the title of a resolution passed by both the House and the Senate, with Democratic as well as Republican majorities. It has a total of 23 clauses. These 23 clauses spell out the rationale for the war. Out of all 23 clauses, there are only 2 that even mention stockpiles of WMD. What the resolution did stress – in 12 separate clauses – were 16 UN resolutions that that Saddam had ignored or defied. The Fox News Channel has reported this numerous times. What the hell? Do you get all your news from Canada's state-run, taxpayer-funded, Soviet-style CBC?

That Canada-U.S. Chill: Does Not Exist!
Montgomery Burns replied to mirror's topic in Canada / United States Relations
That much is clear. If you had spent more than 2 seconds on this, then you might know that the majority of rulings on this dispute have gone against the U.S. The NAFTA panel has ruled against the U.S. four times (NAFTA decisions, unlike those made by the WTO, are binding). The U.S. has simply ignored these rulings, choosing to side with the domestic forestry lobby over its agreed upon trade commintments. Wow, Harper even beat Bush to the punch! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1) Hooray for Judge Black Dog. If only Judge Harold Baer was as wise as Judge Black Dog. 2) Do you think this is a contest. Judge Black Dog: "We are leading 6-4 in rulings. We win. Yay!" 3) Your link didn't prove that Harper beat Bush to the punch. You seem to forget something. I have caught you lying so many times that I always factcheck your ass. Thanks for playing.
