Poll of 3625 Iraqis: 79% in favor of draft constitution and 8% opposed 3625 is a large number of people to poll. The poll also gains credibility because it is reasonable to assume that your typical Iraqi is exhausted by the violent attacks upon them by the Islamofascists and would hope that a "Yes" for the constitution sends a message to the terrorists and the world. Given that it will take 3 of Iraq's 19 provinces voting against the Constitution by a 2/3rds margin to knock it down, it seems highly likely that the Constitution is going to be approved by the Iraqi people.

Bill O'Reilly
Montgomery Burns replied to Black Dog's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I still contend that you are overreacting, Newbie. I doubt you have even watched The O'Reilly Factor. Yes it is entertaining, because you actually see fierce passionate debate on Fox News between lefties and righties. And dropping another leftwing Media Matters (FAIR) link will still not convince me that O'Reilly isn't credible. He is known as an excellent researcher and he trips up liberals; thus your anger towards him. It is the liberal media who has been caught in scandal after scandal, not Fox News. -
National Review Rather odd that the "rightwing-controlled MSM" hasn't provided this context.

Liberal Bias in the Media?
Montgomery Burns replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There's no doubt that there is liberal bias in the MSM. The anti-Bush and anti-Harper "reporting" (more like opinion pieces sometimes) by the MSM is embarrassing. No wonder people are tuning them out. Right-leaning Canadians are forced to pay for the CBC's hard-left propaganda. I can't believe that 5 people actually voted for a rightwing bias in the MSM. If the media is biased to the right, then why do liberals denounce only one MSM news source..Fox News? -
Just in time as a federal election nears. The Liberal Party's propaganda machine is back!

MapleSyrup: I know #3 has already been downsized by the EU - 21 months after this announcement. The EU's Big Three (Italy and especially Germany and France) had dismal unemployment figures and GDP growth in the last 21 months. OTOH, the USA's economy has been the opposite (excellent unemployment numbers and GDP growth) the last 21 months. Thus, the EU revised their 2010 goal.

Norway might've swung to the left but I believe more countries are moving right. Germany (although still about 50-50), Poland, Estonia, Australia, USA, Britain (foreign policy-wise and Blair has the sense to keep Thatcher's economic reforms).

You forgot to mention that Fox's Carl Cameron broke the Bush DUI story a few days before the 2000 election, turning what appeared to be a sure Bush win, into a nail-biter. Curses that rightwing propagandic Faux News! Oh, and Begala and Carville - two Kerry campaign advisors - according to you, "(They) weren't reporting". What do you mean by that?

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Tom DeLay, because of the expansion of entitlement spending under his watch. But having said that, this indictment seems to be a sham. The money swap was a perfectly legal move, and the Democrats did the exact same thing. On Oct. 31, 2002, the Texas Democratic Party did the same thing when it sent $75,000 to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and received $75,000 back from the DNC the very same day. Even people who aren't fans of Tom DeLay should show some intellectual honesty and admit that this is an out-of-control prosecutor and a phony charge.

Apart from 'fair and balanced' being laughable, I read from all of those news stations regularly. I am not sure how much further right CNN could go... when the invasion of Iraq happened, CNN was 'beating the war drum' the loudest, and I eventually got tired of the blatant 'pro-US propaganda' that filled up the hours between the minutes of actual news. If Fox is considered by some to be 'fair and balanced', they should be somewhere in the middle...yet I can't see how there could be any room to stand 'further right' of it... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hope you are right about the 5% ownership, but I disagree with your assessment of CNN. I think CNN is left-centre but not as left as the CBC or BBC, although I would put CNN International with the CBC and BBC; loathsome propaganda against conservatives/rightwingers. And finally, CNN had two John Kerry campaign advisors as hosts of Crossfire, Paul Begala and James Carville -- a blatant conflict of interest. As you will recall, The Wall Street Journal's Peggy Noonan took a leave of absence when she went to work for the Bush/Cheney campaign -- the ethical thing to do.

Bill O'Reilly
Montgomery Burns replied to Black Dog's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You are overreacting, Newbie. O'Reilly doesn't shout down his guests; they try to shout down O'Reilly, with their constant "why don't you send your children (clever codeword) to Iraq" baiting questions. The O'Reilly Factor: No Spin Zone provides good shows, especially considering it is on for 5 hours per week. Although O'Reilly is right-of-centre, he is hardly a staunch conservative; he supports many liberal social issues, thus, making him somewhat unpopular with some of the right. I also like O'Reilly's viewer emails. He's not scared to read emails that bash him. One liberal wrote in and called the show The Fascist Factor. Neil Cavuto also reads anti-Cavuto emails on his show. When was the last time you heard CNN's Jack Cafferty read out a pro-Bush email? And Bush won 51-48. Media Matters is funded by the radical billionaire George Soros. They state that they are a progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media. Yeah right. That infamous rightwing MSM. Those zany "progressives". -
This is disturbing. Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, who made headlines after Sept 11th when he visited Ground Zero and offered then-New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani a $10 million cheque for relief efforts, has bought 5% of the Fox News Channel. A few days later after offering Giulani a $10 million cheque, the prince released a statement that blamed the US and its support for the only democracy in the Middle East - Israel - for the devastating 9/11 attacks. To his credit, “America’s Mayor” immediately returned the prince’s check with a statement: “There is no moral equivalent for this attack. The people who did it lost any right to ask for justification when they slaughtered…innocent people….Not only are those statements wrong, they’re part of the problem.” This may translate into a worrisome new set of constraints on the network millions of Americans have come to rely upon for fair and balanced reporting. Nowhere has this been more important than Fox’s news coverage of the Middle East - a region CNN (especially its international arm), the BBC, the CBC, and most mainstream print outlets cover with only slightly less hostility to America than does Al-Jazeera. This is worrisome.

A history of the US Communist Party's attempt to destroy religion and promote the left's radical agenda: Note: I'm not terribly religious but I am appalled at the way the left demonizes everyone who is religious. Yes, some religious people are kooky, but personally, I find the 10 Commandments a good moral guide for society... My Webpage I'm not religious at all. I consider myself agnotstic; I'm not sure if there is a higher being....but then again, I am not convinced about Darwin'w Theory - although I tend to lean towards his theory. However, I am appalled at the sneering condescending tone of liberals towards religion. Indeed, it strikes me as being very intolerant.

The NY Times took 2 weeks to report on AAR's stealing of $875,000 from the federally funded Gloria Wise Club, in which the NY Times blatantly lied about what Al Franken, to his credit admitted..."I understand that Paul robbed Peter to pay Paul." The NY Times, of course, reported the transcript as Franken saying, "I understand that Peter borrowed from Paul. However, I got a big chuckle out of this: Air America Radio is virtually broke; they're now begging for cash donations. But the best part is this: Translation: We'll send you some e-mail spam. Dontcha love the notion that by sending AAR $50, listeners get "FREE STUFF?" Only a liberal hack would buy that argument. It's the same argument that they swallow when arguing that government should provide services for "free". Those wacky zany liberals.

Gee Black Dog, Here ya go. A clue for you. If you didn't watch Fox News, as apparently the liberal University of Maryland's PIPA didn't..., you might have known that George Tenet's October 2002 letter stated: Indeed, it was Tenet’s letter that later led James Woolsey, Director of the CIA under President Clinton, to remark on CNN’s Late Edition, to Wolf Blitzer, November 16, 2003: Illiterate? Yikes. Maybe Black Dog should take some basic reading courses! These suckers that only get their news from the liberal media....

Montgomery Burns replied to Ironside's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Cartman. Cartman, Cartman.... Radical leftists such as yourself are always so willfully blind to reality. From the liberal CNN's survey: 21 + 22 + 20 = 63 in elementary math. 63% for; 34 against. Looks like nearly double think the US will win. But I have a question for Cartman, the guy who demands that people be "punted" from the forum for daring to use the word "socialist", but is mysteriously silent when radical leftists accuse President Bush of laughing at ni**ers who are dying in New Orleans...... 1) Do you want the Islamofascists to be exterminated or are you hoping for them to win? 2) Do you wish Iraq to become some kind of a democracy or do you wish for them to fall under the dictatorship of a totalitarian regime? 3) Do you hate brown people and feel that they are second-class subhuman people - as Mohammed from IraqTheModelBlogpspot suggested? 4) Do you honestly think that the US cannot defeat Islamofascism? 5) Do you think that the American public will capitulate to Islamofascism, i.e., dhimmitude? -

Black Dog: Is 63% more than 50? I think so. Finally Black Dog admits his true feelings. He wants the Islamfascists to win; I KNEW it! I knew it; I knew it; I knew it. Game.Set.Match. Black Dog is the voice of the hard left, ladies and gentleman. His agenda is clear for all to see. -

PocketRocket: What part of Iraqi Operation Freedom is so utterly confusing to you? And you haven't directly addressed the $200 billion and counting of how many decades the US would have to "contain" Saddam and his Spawns of Satan's Iraq. -
Who said this?
Montgomery Burns replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Why don't you tell us all again how you can picture President Bush sitting around describing New Orleans as filled with niggers and nigger lovers? You're a hypocrite of monumental proportions and have no business speaking on any subject. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good one. You nailed the race baiter big time. -
Bill O'Reilly
Montgomery Burns replied to Black Dog's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
O'Reilly gave a good spanking to Democrat Charles Rangel the other day. Rangel admitted that he was wrong when he had previously claimed that Bush had spent less money on blacks than Clinton had. Rangle is a race-baiter in the Jess Jackson/Al Sharpton mode, but I have to give him credit for admitting that he was wrong. Rangel looked like a little school boy being lectured by the teacher (O'Reilly); funny stuff. At least Rangel had the balls to appear on the No Spin Zone and take his lumps; which Howard Dean - the coward - has refused to appear on O'Reilly. -
Yes, it is the Associated Press, but occassionally they get it right Canada's armed forces are well trained, professional, but they preside in a political enviroment just as spiritless on national defense as much of Western Europe. Luckily, Canada has the fortune of bordering a superpower which happens to be their biggest trading partner and a good friend. However to be fair, CSIS is hiring big-time. My friend just got a job with them and he tells me that Martin was spooked by the London 7/7 bombings and is worried about Canada being the only country of Al Qaeda's hitlist of 5 countries who have not been hit. However, PMPM is trying to be covert about pumping up CSIS's ranks for fear that the far left who might support him....may vote against him....because as we all know, the far left is not willing to fight Islamic extremism; they support Islamic extremism. I dislike PMPM, but I have to give him kudos for, apparently, finally (according to my friend), recognizing the threat of Islamofascism and is apparently willing to (somewhat covertly) beef up CSIS. It appears that his insatiable greed of Saddam's $1 million investment in PMPM's company has been satiated. I hope to hell that Canada does not get hit....but I think that we will be hit. We aren't fighting a conventional army; we are fighting Islamic terrorists. Sure, the US has crippled much of Al Qaeda, but the nature of this new global warfare makes it somewhat easy for Al Qaeda to strike....and provoke terror. Does Canada have the intestinal fortitude to fight back? Or will we typically fall back on our "Canadian patriotism", i.e., anti-Americanism and capitulate? Or will we take the fight to these Nazis and kill them?

$400 for every man woman and child in Alberta

August1991: Are you trying to win the Dumbest Analogy of the Day™ Award? I'm disappointed in you, August1991 A nice EUtopian vision but unfortunately reality is not that easy to attain. How do you vary health behaviour to the entire populace? August, what color is that Kool-Aid you have been drinking? Enquiring minds want to know.... -

Black Dog: It doesn't matter. It reminds people that healthcare is not free. Something that is perceived to be free is abused. Everyone knows that. How difficult is that to understand? I believe Freud had a term for that: Projection. Thereby creating - in the public's mind - the perception that healthcare is free. Great.
