  1. 7 trillion?! There was a European scientist on Fox News' global warming special tonight--who said that the UN claimed that it could cure all of the world's ills (HIV, the poor in Africa, etc) for $75 billion per year. He asked if it made sense to spend $150 billion/yr on Kyoto, which he said would do little good, or $75 billion/yr on doing a whole helluva lot of good. The special also discussed the "credits" that Scriblett's link mentions. Some guy in Russia (I forget his name and title) said Kyoto was great for them economically. The limits posted on Russia (and the rest of Eastern European Soviet satellite states) have the level of Kyoto reduction rates at 1990 levels and that gives them an advantage over the rest of the industrialized world. Anyways, the guy said that Russia signed onto Kyoto because we (Russia) would make about $12 billion in the next 3 or 4 years selling credits from other countries. Russia is a vast country with many areas virtually uninhabited (eg, Siberia) and those areas emit little greenhouse emission gas. Some of their plants haven't been upgraded since 1950. And like I suspected, the Euro-socialists have a political agenda when it comes to Kyoto. Some Euro official (I forget her name and exact title) said that the purpose of Kyoto was quote: To level the playing field economically. The Euro-socialists are getting their butts kicked economically by the capitalistic USA and they want to knock them down. They also quoted Jacques ChIraq saying that Kyoto was a step towards a one-world govt. I should have posted about this FNC global warming special earlier today. Did anyone else see it? If so, do you remember that Euro official's name?
  2. Oh my. Mr Fancy Pants™ has his knickers in a knot and is demanding Rona Ambrose resign: *Insert laugh track* But as usual, when it comes to liberals, the real reason why Mr Fancy Pants™ is foaming at the mouth is this: And Mr Fancy Pants' statements are not outrageous and dangerously duplicitous. As Ann Coulter so famously quipped: Liberals hate America, they hate flag-wavers, they hate abortion opponents, they hate all religions except Islam, post 9/11. Even Islamic terrorists don't hate America like Liberals do. They don't have the energy. If they had that much energy, they'd have indoor plumbing by now.
  3. 2 words in English, i.e. This mayor ain't talking progressive liberal-speak! They aren't the "nightmares of terror." They are the resistance, insurgents, militants, or my personal fave - activists. And the US is not the lions of bravery. They are fascist neocons under the control of the Zionists who are out to steal your oil. Obviously the lying Mayor hasn't watched Fahrenheit 9-11. Iraq was a kite-flying paradise before US forces arrived. This is unquestionably true because Michael Moore has an unblemished reputation for speaking The Pure Truth™. JIBOURI IS A CIA AGENT!!!!! The killings were all done by US troops (which us progressives support--honest we do), not The Resistance. Oh sure. "Mistakes." Mistakes never ever happen in war. Wars always go super-duper smooth. Read your history, you US puppet. Thank Go, er, goodness I reside in the reality-based community.
  4. gerryhatrick: How do you know it it false? Amir Taheri is a reputable analyst. The article is 3 pages long and is chock full of details. It seems odd that Taheri would risk losing his credibility to make up a false story. From Tehari's article at the NP: While the Iranian economy appears to be heading for recession, one sector may have some reason for optimism. That sector is the garment industry and the reason for hopefulness is a law passed by the Islamic Majlis (parliament) on Monday. The law mandates the government to make sure that all Iranians wear "standard Islamic garments" designed to remove ethnic and class distinctions reflected in clothing, and to eliminate "the influence of the infidel" on the way Iranians, especially, the young dress. It also envisages separate dress codes for religious minorities, Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians, who will have to adopt distinct colour schemes to make them identifiable in public. [...] The new law cannot come into effect until consensus is reached on what constitutes "authentic Islamic attire." [...] A committee that consists of members from the Ministry of Islamic Orientation, the Ministry of Commerce and the Cultural Subcommittee of the Islamic Majlis is scheduled to propose the new uniforms by next autumn. These would then have to be approved by the "Supreme Guide" Ali Khamenei before being imposed by law. Far beyond Rathergate and Korangate? Oops. I forgot. Those 2 bogus stories embarrassed the Bush administration so those were merely wee "f$%k ups". What experts? Who are they? Can you tell me the name of the last regime (besides Iran) who wanted to wipe out the Jews? Hint: The answer is in Harper's quote. If it does turn out to be false, I agree with you. The MSM has been caught lying far too many times. I understand that mistakes can happen, but with all their claim of "layers of fact-checkers", you'd think this would rarely happen. Just off the top of my head: - The bogus TANG memos (Rathergate). - The bogus story about US soldiers flushing the Koran down the toilet at Gitmo (Korangate). - The bogus Associated Press story that the crowd at a Bush/Cheney rally booed when Bush wished Clinton well in his upcoming heart surgery. Fox News was there and played the audio tape of when Bush wished Clinton well and we all heard that there was no booing. Damn that evil Faux News! - The NBC reporter, after Hurricane Katrina hit, sitting in a canoe, with an oar in one hand, reporting that the flooding was very high where she was....and then 2 people walked in front of her canoe and we saw that the water was ankle-deep. Actually, this one was pretty funny. No wonder their newspaper circulation and TV ratings are dropping... Edited to delete: - my claim that the FNC was also reporting the "non-Muslims will have to wear different clothing" part. I only caught the end part of it when I clicked on the TV. However they just reported it again (bottom of the hour) and they are only showing excerpts of the law concerning the "Iranian women having to cover up" part.
  5. Hmmm. Just after I posted a reply to Gosthacked about Libya's Ghaddafi giving up his WMD, who appears on Fox News' Journal Editorial Report? Judith Miller from the liberal (and their editor has admitted it is a liberal rag--like it was a ha-yuge secret) NY Times. What was Miller talking about? Ghaddafi giving up his nukes. Her opinion--from talking to Libyan sources? He got nervous when the US kicked the shit out of the Taliban, and the kicker was when a dishevelled Saddam was pulled out of a hole in the ground.
  6. Cont'd to Gosthacked (my computer froze during my last post): More from Hans Blix dated from his March 6, 2003 report--two weeks before Operation Iraqi Freedom: I understand that you are unaware of these statements by Hans Blix. From your previous postings on this forum, I can tell that you solely rely on the liberal MSM for your news. You cannot retort that I live in a bubble and only see/read right-leaning news sources, because I am constantly assailed by the MSN - with the exception of the FNC. I am skeptical about the MSM reporting regarding Iraq because there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the liberal MSM has a political agenda in its Iraq reporting. Cripes, the vast majority of Iraqi blogs paint an entirely different picture of Iraq compared to the MSM. Indeed, Bill Roggio - whose is embedded with US troops - tells a completely different story about Iraq and Afghanistan compared to the MSM. His article yesterday mentioned that the MSM is exaggerating the strength of the Taliban in Afghanistan, and notes that it is propaganda meant to weaken the West's resolve. He noted - in yesterday's report - about Harper's slim 149 to 145 win for committing our troops to fight the ppl who harbored the ppl who killed 24 Canadians on 9-11. NOTE: Roggio is going to be imbedded with Canadian troops next week. Can't wait to read his reports. According to him, the Taliban is taking a drubbing (but still are dangerous). Whoa. You are denying all the reports that Iraq's WMD were moved to Syria's Bekka valley? Iraqi military personnel - and Israeli intelligence...and if anyone has good intelligence in the ME, it would be them - have reported that Iraq's WMD were spiritied to Syria before Operation Iraqi Freedom...with the help of the country who supplied 57% of Iraq's arms - Russia. To finish off: 1) WMD have been found in Iraq. However the MSM has perpetuated the "no WMD have been found" because the WMD that was found was small amounts (not a huge warehouse filled with warheads stamped "WMD--Next Stop the Great Satan America") or "old WMD" from the Iran War. Apparently the ceasefire and UN resolutions allowed for old WMD and small amounts of WMD. The terrorist-supporting MSM has morphed this into "no WMD have been found", just like they refer to the Swift Boat Vets as "the discredited Swift Boat Veterans" even though they were never discredited. Indeed, it was Kerry's campaign who backed down from his claim of being on a Sooper Seekrit Mission in Cambodia under orders of President Nixon--who was not even president at that time. And it was Kerry's campaign who admitted that one of Kerry's Purple Hearts *might* have come from a self-inflicted wound. 2) For the 1132nd time on this forum, I am going to post The Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq , passed by both the House and the Senate, with Democratic as well as Republican majorities on October 2, 2002. It has 23 short clauses and only 2 mention stockpiles of WMD. However 12 of the clauses mention the 17 UN resolutions Saddam ignored and defied. If you had access to the Fox News Channel, or were willing to look at conservative news sources, you would be aware of this. I can't help it if the MSM put a blackout on this resolution. 3) Do you think Operation Iraqi Freedom was "illegal and immoral"? I'm not trying to lay a tap for you here... No, no I am not....heh. 4) Type something like "10,000 litres of anthrax Iraq" into Google if you think I am bullshitting about the MSM blackout about Blix's report 2 weeks before OIF. Like Judge Harold Baer's legal ruling that Iraq was involved with 9-11, there is a virutal MSM blackout. They are not telling you everything. I've said it before and I will say it again: The MSM is on the side of the enemy. Even though the Islamonazis have little in common with leftwingers, with the exception of totalitairianism, the left's fanatical hatred of Bush - its Bush Derangement Syndrome - has moved them to take the side of the enemy. I've said it before and I will say it again: The left is far too partisan. They march in lockstep more than the right does. I've argued/debated with Shoop - who claims to be rightwing (he's actually a centrist) and Argus (who is rightwing unless you bring up Bush), but the left would take to the streets protesting the rise in unemployment rates of laboratory rats if Bush found a cure for cancer.
  7. GostHacked: You don't think it was important that Khaddafi gave up his WMD program? The US and other countries had no idea his WMD program was that advanced. You should read some books about intelligence, GH. In the murky world of intelligence and counter-intelligence, it is difficult to be 100% sure about anything. That's the nature of intelligence. Really? You are sure about this? I'll grant you that. Did the intelligence agencies of the UK, Germany, Russia, China, Israel, and France (yes - France!) also "lie"? Or does that term only apply to the Bush administration - but not the Democrats in Congress who also claimed that Saddam had not come clean? I hope you can find this article about Hayden "cooking the books"; I'd like to read it. Even your link to the far-left CBS is titled "No Hard WMD Proof". Like I said previously, it is difficult to have "hard proof" in the murky intelligence and counter-intelligence world. Some other quotes from your link: - A White House spokesman says a small portion of the still-classified report is being taken out of context. He says the entire document's conclusions support the Bush administration's position. - The briefing paper said Iraq "probably" had illegal chemical stockpiles, and also reported that Iraq was thought to have biological weapons, but said the amount and condition of the weaponized germs was uncertain. Sneer quotes around the word probably. I'm impressed. Just like the CBC and their "so-called War on Terror" sneer quotes. Fair and balanced, unlike that ultra-rightwing Faux News Channel. Ever seen this? Unless you read conservative websites or have access to the Fox News Channel, I doubt it. Not sure what you mean here. If you are insinuating I am running and refusing to reply to you, that is untrue. I am not here everyday, but if you strongly want me to reply to something you wrote, just send me a quick email with a link to your MLW post. I will reply; I promise. Indeed he did. January 23, 2003:
  8. Thelionusfleabag: Why are you against the Jewish people returning to their homeland? Why are you against them having the right to a national home?
  9. Black Dog: Does that also apply to the people who refer to Bush as Hitler?
  10. Geoffrey: When one is spinning wild conspiracy theories, hanging out with people who take to the streets protesting for the destruction of Israel, I think it is reasonable to call them anti-semitic. Can I call Iran's PM anti-semitic? Do you have any idea how many suicide bombers attacks kill innocent Israelis? There was yet another one the other day. The #1 duty of a govt - in my opinion - is to protect its own citizens from its enemies. If the "Palestinians" do not have enough hospitals, then perhaps they should spend the billions of dollars they receive in foreign aid - on hospitals, instead of weapons. I have zero sympathy for them. Glad to hear that you are not "impressed" with them. Wow.
  11. Thanks for the "welcome back", Gosthacked. It's been quite busy at work the last while. DISSENT IS PATRIOTIC!!! SITTING BEHIND YOUR COMPUTER AND BITCHING ABOUT EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING THAT DOES NOT GO 100% RIGHT - AND WE ALL KNOW THAT THINGS ALWAYS ALWAYS GO 100% RIGHT IN WARS - IS PATRIOTIC!!! IT'S IDEALISM, NOT CYNICISM!!! They were found. In Libya. Close enough for me. The Man Whose Name Is Spelled 100 Different Ways™ suddenly got a shrivelled nutsack when he saw a dirty dishevelled Saddam pulled out of a tiny underground hole.
  12. Yes. Now if only Rumsfeld wasn't a lying, arrogant weaselly incompetent who ignored the advise of his generals and screwed up the war. But ahh, he knew better. After all, he was ..... around... during Vietnam, though he, like Cheney, like Bush, made sure they never had to serve. Long on insults towards Rumsfeld but short on specifics, except that Rumsfeld did not serve in Vietnam - because one is incapable of leading the military, being a President, or even Vice President, unless one: 1) served in Vietnam, (being a pilot in the military is not good enough), or 2) fled to England and helped organize anti-war marches like William Jefferson Clinton. (Sorry for forgetting the MLW leftist rule: Clinton is off limits to critisism) FYI: But Rumsfeld has no experience as Secretary of Defense! What military experience did former Minister of National Defence Bill Graham have? Rumsfeld is arguably the best Secretary of Defense in the last 40 years. - Rummy reorganized the defense strategy for the US, replacing the old model for sizing forces with a newer approach more relevant to the 21st century. - Rummy helped plan to remove about 60,000 to 70,000 US troops from Europe and Asia in a sweeping reorganization that he said - correctly - would better prepare the military to handle crises. What has Rumsfeld accomplished since then: In less than a month, about 25 million Afghanis were freed from one of the most repressive evil regimes in world history - the Taliban - in Afghanistan...all while the cynics claimed there would be thousands of US casualties, bloody urban combat, terrorist attacks against America, uprisings throughout the "Arab Street", humanitarian catastrophes, the dreaded "Afghan winter", and inter-ethnic warfare shattering the country in a violent civil war. In less than a month, about 25 million Iraqis were freed from one of the most sadistic mass-murders of our time...all while the cynics claimed there would be a slide into violent anarchy, Iraq would spiral into a massive humanitarian disaster, mass wide-spread demonstrations in Iraq demanding that the US leave, mass wide-spread support for the "Iraqi resistance", America would "lose the peace", the US is going to steal Iraq's oil, and the ever popular Vietnam Quagmire. Free elections in Afghanistan (the first Afghani to drop a vote in the ballot box was a 19 y/o female, a great human rights story since the Taliban had forbidden women from attending school). No more public arena executions and a democratically elected parliament. Three free elections in Iraq, the 3rd election held less than 33 months after the commencement of Operation Iraqi Freedom. No more rape rooms, no more mass graves, democratically elected parliament, and unprecedented economic growth. All of this accomplished with very low military and civilian casualties - although the cynics think all this could've been accomplished with zero military and civilian casualties. Plus: - The light shining on the cockroaches at the UN for their massive corruption in Oil For Food program--although unless you read conservative news sources (or have the Fox News Channel), you are likely in the dark about this. - About 75% of Al Qaeda's leaders captured or killed. - Saddam Hussein on trial in Iraq. - Zarqawi writing letters lamenting that he can only amass 110 fighters in Iraq. - A sworn enemy of the US is now an ally of the US in the War on Terror--or as our state-run news station calls it, the "so-called War on Terror". But ahh, Argus knows better. After all, he.....uh......appears to be inflicted with BDS. Plus several retired generals throwing their support behind Rumsfeld. Shockingly - - these generals didn't get invited to the talk show circuit, the MSM morning talk shows, or get an invite to appear on 60 Minutes.
  13. What about Bob Novak and Pat Buchanan - both rightwingers - attacking Israel and taking the side of the Arabs, but the left has labelled them anti-semitic. Sounds like a double standard. A lot of people on the left cried foul when Jonathan Pollard - the America convicted for spying for Israel - and accused the Reagan administration of being anti-semitic, especially Secretary of State Casper Weinberger - who was pro-Arab When someone on the right critisizes Israel, they are labelled anti-Semitic. When someone on the left critisizes Israel, they claim they are not anti-semitic. This is a double standard. Also, why do you think the state of Israel was created? Might it have something to do with the rampant anti-semitism in Europe? Many in Israel today are descendants of the people who escaped the Holocaust. There's even some alive today who were liberated from the Nazi death camps.
  14. Wow. Harper is really on a roll. Even I am surprised. What a brilliant display of political gamesmanship. Harper masterfully sized up the Liberals and won. They wanted a debate and got it. They wanted a vote and got it. The left screamed about the timing because their allies in the MSM weren’t going to be able to milk this for weeks on end. The NDP, as usual, made sure their caucus was anything but democratic. Toe the line, you socialists. And Paul Martin didn't even be bother to show up. What a difference a 100 days can make.
  15. Got a goody that the MSM has refused to report--Noam Chomsky meeting with Hezbollah a few days ago. As reported by the invaluable Drudge Report, Chomsky told Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah that "the US is one of the leading terrorist states". Oops. Looks like someone else has reported this meeting in Beirut; Al-Manar, the official Hezbollah propaganda channel, banned by the US State Dept. Here is video of Chomsky, along with his Muslim wife, meeting with Hezbollah leaders. Not anti-war. He's on the other side. No wonder he is a leftist icon. Why doesn't the US arrest and try Chomsky for treason? Hezbollah is on the USA's terrorist list. I am getting sick and tired of Bush always playing Mr Nice Guy. He hasn't even done anything about the NY Times and WaPo reporters reporting classified information. These 5th columnists - and Chomsky - need to be tried for treason and thrown in jail--or executed (and the harshest penalty for treason is the death penalty).
  16. Amnesty International offers no evidence whatsoever in your link. Where did they get their info from? The displaced Arabs? Yeah, they have a great track record of being truthful. Do some children get shot or killed? Yes, because the displaced Arabs have a track record of hiding amongst civilians to launch their attacks. Is Israel deliberately shooting children while they are sitting in a classroom? Utter nonsense! This is the same Amnesty International that, last year, admitted that it had no evidence that Gitmo was a gulag and a terrorist prison where systematic torture is rife. Then they later admitted it was a publicity stunt to get attention! This is the same AI that demanded the US allow independent human rights organizations to investigate conditions at Gitmo and elsewhere. However The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has had regular access to the detainees at Gitmo (and other US military detention centers) since the facility was established in January 2002. This is the same AI that called called for other nations to kidnap Bush, Rumsfeld, Alberto Gonzales, George Tenet and others, and haul them off to the International Criminal Court for prosecution on charges of crimes against humanity. Amnesty International - led by a Muslim named Irene Khan, who used to work for the despicable UN - is an organization with a political agenda.
  17. The letter from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Bush was an invitation to Islam. Indeed, Ahmadinejad admitted this a few days ago: It also might be a prelude to another attack against the USA. Link
  18. Sorry to hear that. The exchange rate is about 1.12 now, so after adding the 2 percentage points the banks charge, a fairer price would've been $369 X 1.14; approximately $420 CDN. Can't blame the govt for over-taxation on this one - as opposed to alcohol, gas, and cigarettes. As far as I know there are no duties on cameras. Kinda surprised to hear this. I always thought that London Drugs was supposed to offer good prices.
  19. Haha Shakey. Honestly I did, for a second, have a tinfoil moonbat moment when I couldn't get in here....(are the NDPers preventing me from accessing this forum?)
  20. So that's why I couldn't get in here a few days back. A file kept on getting loaded and then it would "kill" my window.
  21. Teddy nails it. The middle, or upper-middle, class Harper seems to be someone the public can relate to. I've seen the pics of him loading up the mini-van to take the family to a hockey game. If that isn't typically Canadian, I don't know what is.
  22. 1. This should be put to a vote by the public like they did in the USA. And like the results in the US, gay marriage will be rejected by the public. There is a reason why the Libs rammed that legislation through; they know darn well that the public would reject it. Even true blue states like Oregon (57-43%) and California (62-38%) rejected this attempt to destroy the 2000 year definition of marriage, this institution being the bedrock of society. It is the noisy radical left and their allies in the MSM who push for gay marriage, because gay unions is just not good enough for them. And if you disagree, you are instantly labelled a homophobe. I think the Canadian public is tired of guys getting fined $1500 for whispering "he's a fifi" to a 3rd party, tired of preachers getting hauled in front of Human Rights Commissions for preaching church doctrine, and tired of teachers getting suspended from their jobs for writing (on their own time) letters to the editor supporting the traditional definition of marriage. 2. There should be an abortion law in Canada. They even have that in Europe. I'm not in favor of an outright ban on abortion, but it is deeply shameful and injuman that Canadians murder 100,000 innocent babies every year - at taxpayer expense yet! Fetal viability usually begins after 23 weeks of gestation. Even in ultra-liberal Sweden, women must seek permission to have an abortion after 18 weeks, and even Hillary Clinton has said that abortion is an evil to be avoided. 3. Absolutely. It was outrageous that the MSM started whining when Harper said that the Supreme Court was full of liberals. In MSM-land, they aren't liberal; they're normal. 4. Yes yes yes. I'm estatic the left is out of power. What a change in 100 days! - Harper and MacKay visit our troops and show their support for our brave warriors in the fight against Islamonazism. Both Chretien and Martin were too gutless to do this. Indeed, Martin called Normandy "Norway" twice during a ceremony for our veterans. Bonus points to Harper for making the left foam at the mouth when he secretly visited our troops (BushHarper!!) - Rona Ambrose is ending the bogus economy-killing Kyoto Protocol and is hinting Canada will join the likes of the US and Australia in the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (AP-6). Under AP-6 the USA's record on greenhouse gas emissions is half that of Canada's under Kyoto. Additionally, she has halted funding to the tons of phony enviromental groups who have been leeching off us taxpayers. - No institutionalizing of our pre-school children. - Gordon O’Connor, who was actually a military man for 30 years, announces a boost in spending of $5.3 billion over five years. There needs to be more spent in this area and that will come when the CPC wins a majority. - Stockwell Day lays the smackdown on the Tamil Tigers terrorist group and puts them on the banned list in Canada. - Peter MacKay stops funding to the displaced Arabs, now led by terrorist group Hamas. Also, Canada recently voted against the constant bogus UN Chapter IV (non-binding) resolutions against the democratic state of Israel; bogus resolutions which seem to be trotted out on a weekly basis by the totalitarian-loving morally bankrupt UN. - $4 billion pumped into our economy as the softwood lumber dispute was quickly settled. - Our terrible relationship with the US has been healed and Harper & Co are welcome to the White House. Chretien and Martin couldn't even get their foot in the door of the WH, and were lucky if they could even get a return phone call from Bush. Soon Canada will become, once again, a major player on the world stage. No longer will Canadians be embarrassed when half the delegates at world conventions vacate the premises to go to the hotel bar - when our PM speaks. I'm feeling proud to be Canadian again.
  23. Additionally, it seems that the military was fearful of a possible military scandal like that Somalian boy getting beaten to death years back.
  24. Here's a photo of Ray McGovern sitting next to the loathsome Cindy Sheehan at an event sponsored by the Communist organization World Can't Wait. And where was this event held? Yep, you guessed it; Cal-Berkeley. And here is McGovern at an all-star moonbat tribunal: Nice company that McGovern keeps. *gag* WaPo reports on John Conyer's kangaroo court impeachment hearings: This anti-semitism was so far over the line that even Howard Dean condemned it: Ouch! When a wacko like Howard Dean thinks you've gone too far... More from Jacob Laskin at Front Page Magazine: Additionally, McGovern belongs to a group of ex-intelligence officials known as Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, or VIPS. VIPS is infamous for - get this - encouraging intelligence operatives to undermine the Bush administration by breaking their confidentiality agreements and leaking information. Indeed, McGovern himself wrote in a Sept 2004 op-ed that "leaking can be patriotic". Gerryhatrick, I have even more dirt on McGovern - including a pic of him speaking at Camp Casey last year - but I think I have made my point. As for the so-called smackdown McGovern gave to Rummy, here is a smackdown courtesy of Rummy: Well said Mr Rumsfeld.
