  1. No, I was talking about your own words after. "Jack Layton on his coup against the people of Canada." Where do you get off calling it a coup and where do you get off speaking for the people of Canada.
  2. Yeah well other parties haven't suspended parliament. I thought the goose-stepping comment was particularly apt.
  3. I supplied three examples over a litany of others and you just dismissed them as weak. So, ignoring things is just the norm then, eh?
  4. They cut the GST which has ruined the finances of Canada and thrown the rest under the bus. Try again.
  5. Meh, I suppose so. I guess I'll just have to slander you next. Considering your sig at the bottom of each of your post, you're a liar and a hypocrite, too. Coalitions are pefectly legal and by trying to mislead people about the legality of said coalitions. I'm assuming you bought a button from the party. Where'd the idea come from? I'm betting the PMO. That goes back to the entire point. He runs the entire show. That's what my point rests on. So, it seems the entire crux of yours lays on you trying to prove that Harper is actually far weaker, and not the strong glorious leader Conservatives try to make him out to be. Right?
  6. Ahahahaha only a Conservative automatically declare the argument over and the opponent lost. Are you proroguing this thread?
  7. Yep. I would vote PC, unfortunately, the party has been co-opted by Karl Rove loving Bushites.
  8. I really could if I wanted to. I'm just lazy. I think most people would agree with me, even if they don't sympathize with me over the laziness.
  9. Sorry, I still find you using "we the people" funny.
  10. Yeah, I actually do. I could be wrong but party members actually went to prison over a few of these things. As for Shawinigan, the PM was cleared. Goes to show you that once accused, no matter the verdict, you're always guilty. As for sponsorship, I think the program was worth 300,000,000 but only about 1-2 million was funneled out to the Quebec party. For the record, it has all be paid back. The helicopters were undoubtedly a mistake. The gun registry is a program that I still believe in. Firearms should never be an easy thing to own. I don't care how much pain people have to go through to get firearms.
  11. I quoted Churchil a while back and I'll do it again. "Democracy is the worst type of government. Except for all the rest of them." We have to have at least a little bit of faith in the institution. I was just laughing because I found it personally funny that a Conservative at this point in the life of our parliamentary democracy could actually use such democratically noble words.
  12. Well, no matter if he's partisan or not and it's bad news (which, it sounds like it will be), Harper is going to attack him anyways. He's done with the AECL, Elections Canada etc. etc. etc.
  13. Yet Conservatives still bring it up. Conservatives always say of the Liberals "do as we say and not as we do" referring to past scandals. Well, the Conservatives themselves are pretty good at it. It just takes the form of "Well, the Liberals did it first!" As if it makes what the party has done any better. It's a tired excuse. The only difference is that the Liberals have actually admitted the party has made mistakes. Try digging up proof of that for me with Harper and the gang.
  14. Bahahah and if he didn't you westerners would just blame Toronto Liberals for robbing Edmonton and Calgary of their hockey teams. Probably Ottawa, too.
  15. Is the amount so low because you knew you'd lose?
  16. Well, Harper broke his own election law, Flaherty lied about income tax trusts, what's her face lied about the nuclear isotopes issue. Actually, pretty much everyone lied about that. Baird lied about the economic impact of environmental change policy...that seems to me about all the important people in the caucus. Most importantly (I forgot) they lied to Canadians about the legality of coalitions. As for orders from the PMO, there are somethings everyone knows but is never confirmed until someone writes a book. Any person who knows anything about this Conservative government will tell you its the most centralized and closed government in the history of Canadian politics. Just look at how he's suspended parliament. He's even made an enemy out of Macleans which, when you're the CPC, is a REALLY hard thing to do. Just read this article. http://www2.macleans.ca/2010/01/06/actual-questions-to-dear-abby-as-answered-by-stephen-harper/
  17. Speaking of taxes and hockey, who paid for the hockey tickets and flights for all the Leaf games he's been to?
  18. I like books over the internet as well. Google Scholar just gives instant access to printed academic journal articles. When you're a student and writing 4 essays at once, being able to access information in a timely matter is a must.
  19. It's your responsibility as a Canadian as it is mine. We're all Canadian before anything else. If you've got different ideas feel free to start a seperatist party.
  20. Then get the PM to sue me for libel. God knows he's done it before. The point is the argument I made is completely true. Everyone knows that no cabinet member or general MP can make any statement without pre-authorization from the PMO. If it comes out of the mouth of an MP or Cabinet member, it comes straight from the top. Everything comes straight from the top. Remember Ronna Ambrose delivering her "environmental policy." Oh wait, that was Harper. Why? Because ever since the 2004 election where a bunch of candidates ran their mouths and embarassed the party with their right wing reactionary rhetoric. He's so deathly afraid of the hidden agenda stuff coming back that he can't trust the members of his own caucus to speak independently. This is why, after Harper is gone there is no way the party can stay together.
  21. I only have to provide one. The rest are a bunch of yes men and women in empty suits.
  22. I don't equate shifting federal tax to provincial jurisdiction as a conservative fiscal policy. Conservative fiscal policy is getting rid of the tax altogether. The newest bunch of morons did that and has created a huge structural deficit that was in place even before the recession. I don't ignore it. The Liberals did have to slash budgets. However, in the end, slashing defence spending isn't exactly the end of the world. The Cold War was over and the need for a larger military like Mulroney wanted (like his farcical attempt to buy nuclear weapons) was no longer there. Every defense analyst today argues that a country like Canada should be attempting to create a small yet mobile force hence moving away from things like main battle tanks to armoured vehicles like the LAV. The Liberals didn't leave Canada with an underequipped military. They signed the upgrade contract for the F-18s and invested in the new JSF, modernisation of the fleet, new army vehicles. The Iilts jeeps needed to replace once we got to Afghanistan and the Liberal government bought the new hardened G-Wagons. Just because Canada wasn't rolling leopards doesn't mean we were under-equipped. The Liberals did download. However, Ontario under Mike Harris just downloaded them onto the municipalities. There wasn't just one guilty party in this, there was at least 2. Guess who was a part of that Caucus. Tony Clement and John Baird just to name a few. Actually, that's probably it I'm just too lazy to look it up.
  23. Yet another blow to Harper and his merry bunch of cut and runners.
  24. I don't quite agree with that. A lot of them do but it seems to be out of necessity. Winston Churchill once said the best argument against democracy is spending time with the average voter. Populism is what creates the monster. It's essentially mob mentality. The CPC, though, seems to make its bread and butter off of image politics. It's funny that when comparing the records of Liberals and Conservatives, it's almost the exact opposite of conventional thinking. Reagan, Bushx2, Mulroney, Harper have all been the highest spending governments in history. Yet, Liberals still get the shaft as socialists who want to steal everyone's freedom. You could accuse the Liberals of the same thing with the whole "hidden agenda" affair with Stockwell Day, but in the end when you have a member of new earth creationism campaigning as a centrist in the Liberal tradition, there is a hidden agenda. The problem with Liberals is that they're too dumb and moral to play the same game.
