  1. Is Mrs Clinton aware that abortion isn't even legal in some American States? Clean up your own backyard and all
  2. LOL I think molly is either a) one of said unemployed or works for the gov't
  3. I recall back in my high school days going from farm to farm looking for work, everything from strawberry to apple picking. Farmers don't have the time or money to spend on traditional recruitment, it's more of a show up & see if there's work today kinda deal. That's the way its always been. And if someone knocks on that door offering to deliver 20 hard working foreigners for a reasonable rate, the farmer will take them. Saves having to spend 000's in finding temp workers
  4. Nothin' wrong with what he said, most people think the same thing. You want cash, go earn it or go take it. Just don't wait around for Cuzzin E to come fill your pockets.
  5. Let everyone own a handgun and it'll all suss out in the end. Arm the homeless
  6. Stupid & short sighted idea that would never work. Parkdale, St Pauls, Outremont can only vote 1 MP a piece. Plus cons & libs are much closer ideologically than the ndp & libs are. How would this benefit the libs any? This plan worked well for Ms May
  7. There were similar rumours last December and nothing materialized, I suspect that's the case here. If any were to defect, I'd bet on Keith Martin, former reformer & someone obscure in the LPC. There's also talk of Irwin Cotler, but I don't think he's staying in politics much longer so I don't know if there would be any advantage for him at this stage in the game. No way Dhalla goes to conservatives, she is a much better fit for the NDP, who would welcome her with open arms (as would I )
  8. Leave Ruby alone. She is mine & I will marry & make love to her every hour
  9. Well, that settles it then. Seriously, everything MI has said or done indicates he is equally or further to the right of Harper. But if you imagine he's probably okay with more lenient laws then you're probably right. So far, NDP are the only party with the balls to fight for that
  10. Unfortunately, he's not doing anything dissimilar than what Ignatieff would do. In fact, everything the conservatives have done has been with liberal support. Aside from personality differences, both are one the same side of most issues
  11. Cyprus’ extreme environmental stress may lead to early collapse! Ex-govt official: “We are going through a visual process of desertification.” After little winter rainfall, the drought in Cyprus is now in its fifth year. Cypriot water reserves are at their lowest for 100 years; however, the effective population of Cyprus (citizens and tourists) have multiplied by about 150 folds. “As long as the population remained [as] low [as] in the pre-industrial period, the water was sufficient for supplying cities which received water either from the mountains through the aqueducts or through the groundwater supply.” Said Chris Schabel, medieval historian at the University of Cyprus. The entire island including both the Turkish Cypriot north and the Greek Cypriot south divisions are drought stricken. The Island has an annual requirement of about 210 million cubic meters of water. As of July 16, 2008 the water reservoirs were only about 6.5 percent full. Down one percent in the last three weeks (33 percent of the level 12 months ago). Southern Cyprus’ 17 main reservoirs currently contain a paltry 17,733 cubic meters of water, some of which may be unsuitable for drinking. Emergency measures have limited the supply of running water to homes to only twice weekly. Most of the municipal wells have been shut down to avoid the risk of seawater contamination. “The British policy of drilling boreholes throughout the island resulted in a serious depletion, due to excessive pumping of the groundwater reserves, in the main water bearing areas of Famagusta, Morphou and Akrotiri. It was calculated a few years ago that groundwater resources of Cyprus are over-pumped every year by 40 per cent over the allowable safe yield.” (Source) Cyprus is buying from Greece 8 million cubic meters (2.1 billion gallons) of water to be delivered by November 2008 at a cost of €40 million (US$64 million). The water will only be distributed in the Greek Cypriot south. The first ship carrying water from Greece arrived June 30 at Limassol (Cyprus’ main port). The officials then realized they could not pump the water from tanker because their makeshift pipeline was 10 feet short. Because of the delay, the water turned “odorous” and was deemed unsafe for drinking. The entire tanker load of 40,000 cubic meters was subsequently pumped into the ground, instead of the city’s water network due to contamination fears! Under the initial agreement, two water-laden tankers were scheduled to leave Elefsina near Athens bound for Cyprus every day for six months (6 tankers delivering 200 shipments) between June and November 2008. The Turkish Cypriot north is negotiating a separate arrangement with Turkey for their water needs. The Greek Cypriot south plans to build a third desalination plant. US Postal Service collapses...IOUs Riyadh, the Saudi capital, may collapse catastrophically within 12 – 18 months# California State goes BUST..... $26 billion shortfall in budget. The signs are all around, things aren't going back to the way they were so start preparing NOW! The anarchy is coming as I warned you 6 years ago! Friday, July 17, 2009 Arm Yourself-Look What's Coming to a State Near You Low-priority crimes like breaking and entering might not be prosecuted and the conviction rates will continue to decline if the proposed budget for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office is approved, Prosecutor Kym Worthy told commissioners this morning. “We can’t even cover our courtrooms anymore,” Worthy said in vehemently disagreeing with the $28-million general fund budget proposed for the prosecutor’s office by Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano. “At some point, if the budget continues to be cut, we’re going to have to start making decisions about what crimes we prosecute.” The county is facing a $105-million deficit in its 2009-10 budget and has told department heads that 20% has to be cut from the overall budget. The 8% proposed cut to the prosecutor’s office would translate into 54 fewer employees and $6 million less than the prosecutor has asked for the upcoming fiscal year.
  12. As a former NDP supporter, I will not come back until Layton is gone. I know many people, myself included, are not pleased how easily he shed this principles in attempt to form a coalition gov't. One day he's demanding troops come home now, and now he's willing to accept the war? His move to the 'centre' is a sell out.
  13. Exactly. People who are quick to criticize the unions forget that many of the benefits we enjoy today (vacation, sick days, 40 hour work week, etc) are the direct result from the unions.
  14. If the alternative is an election every year, then give this clown his majority and let the other parties replace their useless leaders and try again in 4 years.
  15. This is very bad economic policy. All this does is offset future demand, 2 years from now the auto manufacturers will be back hat in hand asking for another bailout. Why should the taxpayers subsidize people buying new cars? This policy also takes good cars off the resale market, bringing prices up for those who can't afford new cars. An environmentally friendly policy would encourage people to make what they have last longer, not disposing of perfectly good cars. The solution to this problem is not tricking people into more debt by purchasing new cars, the gov't should be encouraging people to save. Record job losses, record bankruptcies... cover your ears & buy a new car, your problems will go away.
  16. WHy should there be charges laid? The little prick needed a hair cut, the teach gave him one for free... a win-win, no? People have no respect for authority anymore. Back where I'm from a teacher could chop your head off & people wouldn't make this much fuss. Pussy canadians.
  17. I get the impression Ignatieff takes the public for a bunch of illiterate sloths. Does he really expect us to forget him signing the coalition and standing up there with Bob Rae defending it? And now that he comes out and says it would be illegitimate, we are supposed to take this as gospel and forget the past? This is sleazy and incredibly dishonest. Not the kind of change we need. If he came out and said he made a mistake, and after much thought he now realizes the coalition wasn't a good idea, then that would be acceptable. He is defining himself better than any tory attack ads could dream of with all his double talk & dishonesty
  18. Blaming your own brother & mother for your problems is never a good defense. It furthers the image the public already have of her, a self-aggrandizing sociopath. Whether these ladies were abused or not will probably never be proven, but it's really not the issue here. Were the nannys working illegally? That is very easy to prove, and I can't see Ruby surviving if this fact is established. Did Ruby really offer to use her influence to get the nannys citizenship? This is also a career-ender. There is no way Ruby survives this, she should just quit & come live with me. I'll be her slave.
  19. Yes people forget that the kinsella/martin/chretien gang launched some pretty vicious & personal attack ads against Day & Harper. And those grit girl ads aren't fooling anyone, these are professionally produced attack ads. Personally, I hate these type of ads because they are intellectually dishonest and insulting to voters' intelligence. Anyone who blindly follows any political party is an idiot, these guys are all the same.
  20. Okay, if that is true she should be charged for peddling her influence. This is the bigger issue. But to say the nanny's were abused for simply having them clean the floors/clinics is a huge overstatement.
  21. Give it up with you sensationalist bullshit. They weren't slaves, they are illegal workers with sour grapes against Miss Dhalla and used by others for political gain. What did she make them do that's so bad? Clean the floors? Wash the dishes? Sounds like a regular day for most people. You soft pussified Canadians have a strange notion of torture. Wouldn't last a second in Lebanon. Where ever it is, hopefully it's with me
