  1. Yes clearly the ones using weapons that massacre as many people as possible indiscriminantly over a wide dispersal area with a history of killing large amounts of civilians are clearly the ones we want to take part in. Why don't we try a bit of napalm and white phosphorous while we're at it?
  2. What a pile of B.S. If the U.S. was going to go out and massacre a bunch of people would it be appropriate for Canada to hold its hand and take part just to keep its 'unique relationship,' going with it.
  3. I am so embarrassed at our government at this point. It will be interesting watching some mental gymnastics from Harper supporters to try to justify this. Next thing these guys will be saying bring back the land mines! We need it defend Canada despite its you know being surrounded by ocean and all. http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Former+Canadian+arms+negotiator+blasts+Ottawas+cluster/9206591/story.html

  6. There is a difference between spying for security and spying for private companies. If you don't realize the difference then you don't have a brain.
  7. Of course police still go there. Let's be real here.
  8. Its totally disgraceful and ridiculous too. First they give away a huge chunk of our resources to the Brazillians, then use public money to spy on the resources we just gave away!!!!!!
  9. A couple more good articles: http://www.watershedsentinel.ca/content/harpers-war-science http://scienceblogs.com/confessions/2013/05/20/the-canadian-war-on-science-a-long-unexaggerated-devastating-chronological-indictment/

  11. I didn't say the government banned all studies on ice cores. Merely that it banned government funded studies of ice cores as is in the government is no longer funding any studies on ice cores.
  12. I talked to a lady whose son studies ice core samples from the arctic, but lost his job because the Canadian government a year ago banned government backed studies of ice core samples. So the only way to get information on ice core samples is to get them from other countries. For the semanticy nitpickers: I didn't say the government banned all studies on ice cores. Merely that it banned government funded studies of ice cores as is in the government is no longer funding any studies on ice cores.
  13. Is it oxymoron day? You've obviously never seen East Hastings in Van. Its always been a free area for drug dealers and whores to do business. Since when? They are being offered treatment at the safe injection sites, and the standard treatment outside of the injection sites is exactly that to shoot poison (methadone) into their systems.
  14. Here fireworks got banned so Halloweens pretty much dead as it is.
  15. Great so Canada has been taken over by the wingnuts, including many on this board. A sad day for Canada when we're desperately scrambling to be in the club of the world's pariah states.

  18. Yes send them all to Siberia Chairman, that'll solve the problem.
  19. Criminalization of substances does a good enough job on its own of perpetuating the cycle of addiction. Criminalization has proven ineffective and decriminalization in Portugal has proved effetive. Criminalization has created a permanent epidemic. Insite is merely helping to ameliorate the damages of it.
  20. Yeah sure considerably lowering HIV transmission and stopping overdose fatalities doesn't help Canadians. (sarcasm)
  21. Here you go: Ten Years After Decriminalization, Drug Abuse Down by Half in Portugalhttp://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2011/07/05/ten-years-after-decriminalization-drug-abuse-down-by-half-in-portugal/
  22. The stats show HIV transmission is down so that would be a considerable decrease in deaths. I don't think any more people are going to have gotten addicted, because of there being a safe place for addicts to shoot up.
  23. After a decade of being open, there still hasn't been one single fatal overdose at the Vancouver Safe Injection Site. HIV transmission via needles have also decreased significantly in the area. http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Insite+anniversary+Vancouver+safe+injection+site+celebrates/8939148/story.html In fact the program has been so successful Health Canada has actually recommended that addicts receive free prescription heroin drawing the irk of the Conservative Hypocrite Government. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/health-canada-heroin-decision-draws-minister-s-rebuke-1.1862601
  24. Hadn't heard about CAMA before. Here's some info on Stephen Harper's Cult: http://www.macleans.ca/culture/lifestyle/article.jsp?content=20060220_121848_121848 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_and_Missionary_Alliance
