This is a valud point and I always wondered why every single damn Muslim country the west has intervened is in such chaos! The rise of Alqaeda, Bin Laden or ISIS was unheard of before 9/11. Certainly the corrupted saudi family supported by the west provided the breathing air for and these muslim wahabism and the creation of ISIS. The US administration always perceived Islam post cold war era as tge new evil yet it provided support to these extremist groups financially and by arming them to tge teeth militarily. This still carries on through lucrative contracts ... In Britain home grown muslims and british natives are recruited to fight side by side against terrorists in Syria and one has to wonder what is behind all these madness....

Fair enough! Do it but rationally instead of attacking and generalising that everyone who is a muslim is indoctrinated by the same principle which isn't true. By all means criticise their government but going after every individual who happens to be a muslim is not the way and for sure it will inflame more alienation of their community. Do you really think by adopting such an approach it will facilitate the assimilation into the western society?

The worst that can happen is extremists in any camp deciding to take on the centre stage and attack the other groups. You can bet your bottom dollar this will feed the fanatic muslims as well as christians and others and inevitably the rest will suffer the consequences...

The topic being discussed here is muslims. If one is not a muslim then they become muslim sympathiser or worse lefty or liberals. Before you know it had the people in the world are labelled as such. Why such divisive tactic when one can argue the merits of an argument and really and I mean really try to see the other person's point of view? I don't agree with the conservative as murderers either. It is just a label we feel comfortable and perhaps to a certain extent may be valid when addressing the leaders of a certain generation. But every single person? Common!

Getting into labelling people you don't agree with as 'liberals' is quite lame and just a lazy way to get away with an argument.... The problem with this forum is that it no one wants to concede when they are wrong despite being provided with ample of evidence then you can never change that opinion. I sometimes had to retract against someone who was very conservative in their political ideology just because I felt they had a point so I had to retracted my stance. It just seems that some posters here want to argue for the sake of arguing because they are so biased that are blinded from rationality.

A bit of balanced argument would help in any discussion....Otherwise there would be no difference between you and those silent posters who tacitly approve extremism and hatred against another being muslim, christian etc.....

It begs the question though....If one cannot have a valid argument why can they not MAN IT UP and say I was wrong? It's a pretty decent thing to do.

The point was and remains that the UK faced terrorism activities from much earlier days and therefore more familiar how to deal with it than 9/11 attack on US soil. And since we are on that subject why is it that US is so friendly towards a country like the SA that everyone knows was the mastermind behind the attack. Harbours terrorist groups from Al Qaeda to Boko Harram to ISIS??? Wait they are the phoney ally that we have on war on terror and yet responsible for all tgese terrorist groups. Then what gives the West the moral equivalency to talk about ethics and human rights when we so miserably fail on these basic standards?

I would like to think you are right but when you see comments like below or taxme the it makes you wonder about the ulterior motives to use the religion.... This is not about Islam as this poster suggests...It's the battle between East and West. So when I see comments like these I KNOW this is not a fight against islam as one would like us to believe like a bunch of sheep. More like battle for natural resources and who can control them...You would only have to read between the lines. There are tons of similar posts with some posters who would silently approve them.....
