  1. Yes it does, on both counts.
  2. Well let's see, Guergis case they were trying to pull of that stuff, pretending to be ordinary citizens supporting her at arms length.
  3. Just came across this bit of information- The government is looking for ways to monitor online chatter about political issues and correct what it perceives as misinformation. The move started recently with a pilot project on the East Coast seal hunt. A Toronto-based company called Social Media Group has been hired to help counter some information put forward by the anti-sealing movement. The seal hunt pilot project was set up in part "to establish foundations and recommendations for future programs and campaigns to use social media as another way to listen to, inform and engage with Canadians," MacAndrew added. The commercial seal hunt might be an ideal test case for government involvement in online debate. The issue has polarized Canadians. Opponents call the hunt cruel and needless and say seals are sometimes skinned alive or killed as whitecoated newborns. Supporters point out that regulations governing the hunt forbid both tactics and the hunt is heavily monitored. They accuse opponents of spreading lies by having celebrities such as Paul McCartney pose with whitecoat seals, pleading for their protection. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20100523/government-online-forums-100523/20100523?hub=QPeriod So is anyone here a federal employee, or working for the government on a related contract?
  4. Bureaucrats eyeing online forums to correct information The next time you post an opinion in an online forum or a Facebook group message board, don't be surprised if you get a rebuttal from a federal employee. The government is looking for ways to monitor online chatter about political issues and correct what it perceives as misinformation. The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has paid a firm $75,000 "to monitor social activity and help identify ... areas where misinformation is being presented and repeated as fact," Simone MacAndrew, a department spokesperson, said in an email. The firm alerts the government to questionable online comments and then employees in Foreign Affairs..., who have recently been trained in online posting, point the authors to information the government considers more accurate. Some groups are wary of government employees being paid to post comments. It appears to be just the beginning. This in itself might not seem to be a big deal but it makes one wonder, how far will they go with it. Will they identify themselves as government employees. Will they use forums as a platform to promote pro-government initiatives, as a means to sway the opinion of voting public. Especially, if these federal employees have been given training in the techniques for posting information vetted by the government that amounts to propaganda.
  5. Likewise the Germans have given up their claim to Danzig.
  6. With the break-up of the Ottoman Empire at the end of World War I, the League of Nations and the occupying powers chose to redraw the borders of the Middle East. The ensuing decisions, most notably the Sykes–Picot Agreement, gave birth to the French Mandate of Syria and British Mandate of Palestine. More than 76% of the British Mandate of Palestine was east of the Jordan river and was known as "Transjordan". The Permanent Court of International Justice and an International Court of Arbitration established by the Council of the League of Nations handed down rulings in 1925 which determined that Palestine and Transjordan were newly created successor states of the Ottoman Empire as defined by international law
  7. I think there should be a limit to what's acceptable, at some point. For practical reasons. Ultra liberalism is a degenerative disease in society, but equally harmful is harsh conservatism. Finally liberal degeneracy becomes a threat to national security.
  8. If you want to talk about Jordan talk to MDcancer. You need seomthin, alright. Thats another thread
  9. Plus, straight men and women who have families have an extra responsibility to be monogamus. The hedonists have no such added sense of obligation.
  10. Umm, let me think about it. Because lots of normal men like to look at pussy
  11. The Palestinian Authority believes that the West Bank ought to be a part of their sovereign nation, and that the presence of Israeli military control is a violation of their right to Palestinian Authority rule. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Bank Some good reading there, for the politically disadvantaged...
  12. Germany is not asking for it back.
  13. I already knew the attitude of posters like DogOnPorch, GhostHacked and Sharkman from their previous posts. I just never realized that AW was of like mind to the rest of you. So this thread has been useful in clarifying that point.
  14. Glad to see that Herper has already done the right thing, in this case. Not that it would make much of a difference to Obama anyway.
  15. Well Obama is the one who negotiated the reduction with Russia, so I don't know how important it is for our PM to communicate Canada's unequivocal support to the president. Sorry if I sound like a downer, but this 30% is probably just taking out the oldest, most obolete weapons anyway. Not much to cheer for.
  16. Just because you hold yourself to some "standard" of your own doesn't mean everyone else should, and doesn't absolve you from being a bigot. By your own words it's quite clear that you are one. And I'm not the only one here who called you on this. In fact, looking back at the thread most of the forum members replied against your views and questioned you, but your answer simply doesn't make sense. You chose instead to call them silly names for not getting it. How many times did you have to say that to other posters? Many times. I guess the rest of the world doesn't "get you". THEY must have a problem. "A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices. The correct use of the term requires the elements of obstinacy, irrationality, and animosity toward those of differing opinion." Maybe it's time for you to take a long honest look at yourself eh? But that must be real hard for someone like you to do. No, better that you continue the illusion.
  17. Obama is doing an excellent job in taking the advice of Dr. Josef Biden.
  18. I could argue more but I think enough has been said and enough damage has been done. Let's just leave it to rest now, sharkman. See you in the next thread.
  19. Well looking at the past dozen or so topics you've introduced, one could say there's a common theme in them. "Muslims bad, Jews Good". Still getting over "War, to be humane, " etc. Oh please, not again. We have people around here apologizing for something they never did, and not apologizing for something that they did. What's an apology really worth these days? Tell you what, we'll see how well you do over the next little while. Maybe if you keep reporting both sides of the coin as you say. I'll be watching
  20. No, only perverted men. I see... so you think heterosexual men are being dishonest. They're really gay inside but can't admit it? Good lord man
  21. Agreed on that. The idiots in government are actually an impediment to those who want to stand up and lead by example!
  22. It only took about five or ten minutes, during my coffee break. Only reason I did it is, I can't stand it when people try to hide what they really mean behind politically correct doublespeak. If someone is prejudiced against all muslims they should at least have the guts to admit it. Not pretend that they really meant something else.
  23. Seems like everyone else can't quite figure out what you've said anymore. I think we see ourselves as intolerant of your intolerance. That makes sense, because I've only posted what you've said. That should allow me to clarify for everyone else, who are having difficulty understanding you Ok. Hugz
  24. You can deny it all you want, but it's right there in black and white.
  25. True but gangsterism and all the associated violence is not more preferable.
