  1. I would humbly like to ask, why are you NOT banned
  2. While Thorn and I disagree on some things, I agree with him here. members should know when someone has broken the rules such that they are banned, because it reminds us that this place is being monitored somehow. If you think it results in a debate about the merits of said banning, just make the thread so it can't be responded to. IE lock it. We should not ignore those who break the forum rules, we should report them. Recently I reported a problem and never heard back. It would be better if I got a response that the report was received and is being reviews, else I wonder if it matters to make a report at all, maybe no one's listening and reporting is a waste of time? Not that I want to shut down debate by being too heavy-handed, but the habitual abusers who offer nothing else do get a bit tiresome. Just my two centavos
  3. Seems that it no longer needs to do it "the hard way". And in my view, while Germany lost the war, Nazism didn't
  4. Is that you, M.Dancer
  5. Good post Michael Hardner. Sure plenty of people disagreed with Jack's politics. Yes, in some areas of the letter it was partisan. He was addressing the party. THIS was his life's work, and just like anyone who has invested so much of themselves into a project, he wanted to see it continue beyond himself. So let every dog have his day.
  6. You mean we have to wait? Except that "Often-wrong Dancer" is not capable of human feeling.
  7. And yet, despite having lost two world wars, built and dis-assembled the wall, embraced their east German brethren and paid their debts, even gave them jobs and free cash handouts, Germany rises once again above all others in Europe. "Deutschland, Deutschland, uber alles, uber alles in der weldt..." Kinda brings a tear to the teutonic eye...
  8. Welcome to the forum. You'll find several members hate you just because you have the word socialist in your user name. There are quite a few jerks here, just like in most forums. But if you're patient and remember to wear your rubber boots when you come here, you'll be ok! Ps// you'll get used to the smell
  9. Shocking how fast this happened. Sincere condolences to his family and friends!
  10. That's exactly why Gorbachev is exceptional.
  11. Pinochet? He killed thousands, and tortured tens of thousands. If you want to call him your hero, go ahead. Ya, that's what I already said.
  12. I don't know, but I've always had some respect for him. I mean, he had the foresight to see what was coming and was able to protect the people of the soviet union from catastrophe. The huge changes he brought to the soviet union were done largely without bloodshed. Although Yugoslavia and other problems occurred afterward, they were the result of secondary actions. Gorbachev was awarded the nobel peace prize at a time when it was still worth something. Not worthless like it is now.
  13. If Quebec is on drugs, it's the federal money. We need to do a big favour and put that province in rehab.
  14. Even leaving Egypt off the list, we got Jordan, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Morocco. ->Outside of golden and labrador retrievers, and Newfoundlands, whicih breeds? Any breed. It's not necessarily a breed specific problem, in either case. Sorry that these issues are too complex to fit into the simplistic black-white definition you folks crave to understand the world by.
  15. Nonsense, there are muslim nations where such violent acts are not at all condoned. And some dogs rove in packs, and would tear you to pieces.
  16. No, the payers for this, if they choose to pay at all will be German taxpayers.
  17. Which democratic country does not do that?
  18. You broke them, for no apparent reason.
  19. That's got nothing to do with what we were talking about, so I won't be distracted by your post.
  20. He became a Canadian citizen in 1991.
  21. What he actually said is the most honest thing I've heard a politician say, especially a conservative one, about the attitude towards marijuana use in our society.
  22. Sure wish they would ignore Sarah Palin a bit more though.
  23. That still doesn't justify cruel treatment of an animal. Then again, look what soldiers did to the prisoners in Abu Graib. We have governments who approve secret renditions and torture, even by proxy using other countries. Even when there is little or no evidence that it's warranted. Probably happens far more than we are aware of. Maher Arar. Now who are the real animals.
  24. My brothers dog eats another dogs grunt. Sounds unclean to me...
