  1. So, if Michaelle Jean's boss is... Then who are soldiers swearing allegiance to? In the unlikely chance that Canada was to go to war against the United Kingdom, who would our soldiers fight for? The whole situation of this `Queen' of Canada needs editing.
  2. Oh, sarcastic fool. You seem to have forgotten that Khadr's trial will continue in June... Yes, there is still a show trial, a military trial, off and ongoing, and that there are Canadian Lawyers involved in said trail... perhaps if you pay attention to the facts, you'd be less of a buffoon.
  3. I know Stephen Harper wears a lot of eye liner but are you saying he's a `queen' too? Tell me, who is Michaelle Jean's boss?
  4. Hopefully not. National Post has sucked from day one.
  5. Patriarchal, manipulatively Christian crap is good stuff for the country, eh? GWB was good for his country?! Glad it's not Canada, man.
  6. It's those who want to ignore Khadr's rights who are a greater threat to Canada.
  7. Oh, you must mean Michaelle Jean.
  8. Whatever, buddy. Seems you've got us all figured out. If only we could be so enlightened.
  9. Figures a `small c' Conservative would say that. Some Right Wingers here have always preferred the infantile position of being a `colony' and always looking to Daddy Britain for guidance. As a Liberal, I say that this reliance on the past is not sustainable, Canada's her own Nation, has been for awhile, and our soldiers should swear allegiance to the Maple Leaf before the Union Jack. And no friggin crowns; Daddy Britain would've had us in Iraq.
  10. Oh, sorry. Well, in my opinion, that should be changed.
  11. Huh? What "Queen"? It was to serve Canada, screw the `Queen'. Former Imperial Powers are part of the problem. UN-Empowered Forces are part of the solution. Those troops are there for that.
  12. Well Said. I bet some of the others carried out and/or were charged with worse things than Khadr. Funny how you haven't provided a link to this claim of yours.
  13. Tolerance: the appreciation of diversity and the ability to live and let others live. Intolerance: lack of tolerance; unwillingness or refusal to tolerate or respect contrary opinions or beliefs, persons of different races or backgrounds, etc. I can't tolerate your sophistic equation; 2 plus 2 does not equal five and tolerance isn't the cause of crime. But intolerance might be why Canada's treated Omar like a 2nd class citizen.
  14. Gosh, if only immigration review and the process to become a citizen was a simple as math, eh? I would say our system is ok but we're a culture of blame and policy is an easy target for the lame.
  15. Geeze, Man, you list examples of one country using it's troops for bad purposes. This does not relate to the Afghanistan situation. The troops there are part of a UN-Mandated Mission; an organization of MANY countries agreed that something needed to be done in Afghanistan and MANY countries sent some troops to help the cause. NATO eventually took the helm with the UN's blessing. Your criticism that Canadian troops are being used for nefarious purposes does not apply here. The UN and NATO are respectable organizations. I don't mean to criticize the way you think but please try to be rational. You've got an issue with educational freedom in Canada, I understand. Personally, I think the public system is the best but you've got an issue with private schooling options that the government won't allow? I dunno but... ...Please start your own forum topic about this seperate issue.
  16. Sorry, Narcissus, but Omar Khadr is the topic. Any thoughts on what our idiotic Prime Minister will do in response of the Canadian Court telling him he must repatriate Omar Khadr?
  17. What Malarky. Karla's slap on the wrist was partially a plea bargain where she put her accomplice away completely. If anyone here thinks Picton's gonna get off that easily, then they are short a few cards. "Oh, Canada doesn't punish its criminals." " Oh, Canada lets terrorists through." Just think what your half-witted perpetuating of these myths does to Canada's reputation. Is that what you want? To be cynical cause it's the popular attitude? Is that why so many assume Omar's a monster?
  18. Like Noahbody's mistake revealed he had a habit of redirecting, misdirecting, and general bait-n'-switching mainly for attention yet noahone knew what he was trying to say.... But anyways.... back to .... oh yea, OMAR KHADR
  19. I've had a Support the Troops ribbon on my car since 2002, I believe. I also have extras that I've offered people for their vehicles. I am proud of our troop commitment in Afghanistan because it's a UN-Mandated Mission. Forget NATO, my Canada listens to the UN first and those soldiers are on a Noble mission. But Canada needs to treat Omar Khadr like a Citizen too.
  20. Walker-Lindh was given a federal trial within weeks of being captured. Not a Military trial, a proper, federal trial in his home country. Canada has never done that for Omar.
  21. I have one question: Why would anyone still care what McCain thinks?
  22. Let's not forget the name of the person we're discussing; OMAR KHADR IS NOT MAHER ARAR!!! Your mistake reveals a lot. (Your quick edit is graceful)
  23. We need to learn the truth about Omar, what happened and Canada's role. There are far too many uninformed Canadians who will continue to perpetuate all the lies and rumours that can be found in these forums if Canada doesn't take responsibility for this citizen and grant him his day in court, a real court or a public inquiry, but something. There's too many people trying to `muddy the water' and distract from what is a very serious issue for every citizen. Our current PM is even trying to ignore it, like a child.
