  1. Absolutely no peer pressure involved, eh? Firstly, maybe Columbine wouldn't have happened if those teens weren't on Prozac. Secondly, has Khadr killed anyone? You should get yourself to Gitmo and be a witness for the fake trial if you have some evidence!
  2. The Star and CBC are far more balanced than the alternatives. Hooeh for good journalism. As for Thomas Walkom's opinion piece, he'll definitely provoke debate. I like the fact Iggy knows his honesty will provoke too: He's not out of touch. Can't you hear the irony? The fact he worked abroad means he's not as provincial as most of us.
  3. Oh, yea. We'll unlock his cell for the victory parade... Define "over".
  4. I've stated over and over again in these forums that I think he should be put on trial in Canada. For you to suggest otherwise is manipulative, Biatch.
  5. Well thankfully you're not someahbody.
  6. Yea, Khadr'll just go to the local Radio Shack and pick up the latest in explosive belts. Nobody'll notice...
  7. Dude, that's not going to happen. Neither the execution nor the `dramatic rescue'. Omar's fate is somewhere in between.
  8. Hey! I'm the grammar and spelling nerd! Not Benny. Throw that challenge my way, buddy. Benny's far beyond being intimidated by someone merely spell-checking. You got something to proof? Eh?! Harper doesn't even give Khadr a chance to defend himself. Obviously the charges are just a distraction from the true political prize of Khadr; they want to what with his captivity?... influence al Queda? In my opinion, it's backfiring.
  9. It's a red-neck ritual to bury their favourite dog near where they pee. At least he didn't say he'd throw the corpse in a swamp...
  10. I agree; that cynicism reveals a bad faith, an innate paranoia.
  11. Sure! There's more baptist terrorists in the world than Omar's ever met. Kimmy, "has been raised"? He was fif-f'ing-teen.
  12. Canada didn't kill his Dad and he probably won't be allowed in the US ever again. What sort of `avenging' are you imagining? I've thought about this too and it seems the longer we leave him there, the more legitimately angry he'll be with Canada. Mr. Harper's decision today was dumb.
  13. This is my biggest worry too; by not respecting Mr. Khadr's rights, we are losing `hearts n' minds' globally. We should be following our democratic process (if we truly believe in it).
  14. There's the rub, eh? His Dad and Mr. Bin Laden were buddies.... is that why Canada's ignoring a kid's rights?
  15. Army Guy, I hope you understand that I'm not `narrow' and I honestly don't know what the Simple guy feels, other than hate.
  16. In fairness, Army Guy's view is affected by his experience `over there'. Mine would be too. But, for those civilians here who haven't been in Army Guy's shoes yet still wanna treat Khadr like a monster, I have little patience.
  17. Did he plant any EIDs? Did he skin a man? Did he cut out the tongue of anyone? Do you like making it seem like he did all these things? Are we supposed to feel bad for questioning? Did he even throw that grenade? Has he a chance of a fair trial anywhere?
  18. Wow, sounds interesting, Kimmy. Although I don't see how pinball and snowflakes can have anything to do with Khadr. I doubt he's had much of either for most of his life. Just cause he confounds some of you doesn't mean Benny's typing gibberish. It only means you can't understand.
  19. I assume each candidate would get one toonie per vote cast in their favour? I naively assume that the candidate will need money to campaign... does it become a gamble that only the rich can afford to take? STV sounds worse than proportional representation but better than first-past-the-post.
  20. `absolutely' not? why? What is STV and what does BC think?
  21. China won't accept pork flying in from Alberta but I didn't think that was religulous...
  22. A number of religious quacks were prodding him with pitchforks.
