    In other words, that's what you hide behind when someone calls you on your defamatory statements. Got it.

    Perhaps when the state of Palestine is created they can become Palestinians and be granted full citizenship and equality. I'm certain the peace-loving people of Palestine would be only too overjoyed to have a more culturally diverse state.

    You claim to denounce propaganda in other threads, and here you are using terms like "apartheid wall" to once again try to defame a certain people and their nation.

    What do you call it?

    If expansionism is part of their agenda, why have they relinquished so much territory they formally controlled? Gaza? Southern Lebanon? The Sinai? Israel's agenda is security, not expansionism.

    How did they get those territories?

    The borders proposed in the UN partition plan in 1948? Do you know how many people would become displaced if Israel reverted to those borders? You seem to have no hesitation proposing policies that would involve the displacement and disenfranchisement of hundreds of thousands or even millions of Jews.

    They don't have to move do they?

    Disenfranchised? How?

    And millions of others who have been displaced could go home.

    Are you acknowledging that those are the legal borders?

    And yet you claim to stand up for people that lost their homes and their land. Your utter one-sidedness is plainly obvious in this statement. Statements like this are where your hatred is most evident.

    Even the slightest offense of Israel against the Palestinians seems worthy of starting a new thread to you, meanwhile the displacement of vast numbers of Israeli Jews you deem inconsequential, or even just.

    According to the link that was provided, it's actually 40 km/hour. So you're right, they can't even come close to the minimum speed limit. I predict a 1,000,000% rise in road rage.

    You are missing the point. These are city cars, not commuter cars.

    Just for us folks who have time to spare to putter about town doing our errands.

    Problem is, Ontario refuses to license them, because they don't want to have two sets of standards, and I think that sucks.

    I"m not trying to help anyone.

    I have a tendency to defend Israel in the same manner as I do the federal Conservatives. That is to say, I'm not particularly fond of the Tories, or their leader, and there are a lot of things about their policies I don't appreciate either. But when I see Liberals attacking them, well, the blinding hypocrisy just draws me in to point out that everything they complain about - their party has done, only more.

    In the same manner, I'm not at all blind to Israel's many blemishes. I don't particularly like their governments of late, and the place is full of religious wackos.

    But compared to its detractors, that is to say, the Muslim world, and most especially the Arab world, they are virtually saints. Everything Israel is accused of is childs play compared to what its neighbors do and have done.

    Example. Why did we see stone-throwing Palestinians on TV week after week, month after month, for years, but see no such protests in Arab nations which, after all, are complete dictatorships? Why, because if groups of protesters started throwing stones at the army in those countries the soldiers would have opened fire with automatic weapons and slaughtered every single person on the street. Political protests, especially violent ones, don't tend to be looked on favorably by the government in the Arab world.

    And yet we hear these Arab leaders wringing their hands and decrying the human rights violations of Israel. What bullshit. As if any of them gives a damn about human rights abuses or freedoms. As for the Palestinians, their own governments, be it the PLO or Hamas, routinely practices torture and extra-judicial murder on a near daily basis, without, as far as I can see, anyone much caring, including all the people here who continuously posting about Israel's bad habits.

    Which brings me back to your cause. Given my knowledge that there are scores of nations on Earth which are more vile than Israel in terms of human rights abuses, I have to look at the continuous whining about Isreal with a jaundiced view. Why all the care and attention from people who clearly don't give a shit about human rights abuses in China, North Korea, Sudan or anywhere else? Could there be something else motivating them than a concern for human rights?

    Perhaps because most of us have rooted for Israel since we were born, and we expected better of Israel. It was horrifying and really disappointing to see them murder civilians and children so callously.

    It was a turning point for world wide perceptions of Israel, there is no question about that.

    And I'd like to see something better than denial and coverups too, but Canada is no country to be a judge of that, being in denial about its own genocide.

    Please reread what I said about white supremacist thinkers who may be infesting the board. There is no point discussing anything with those types who thrive on ethnic/racial hatred, particularly virulent against Jews.

    However, many of us are not haters, just horribly disappointed with Israel.

    Then you are off topic because that's what we are talking about in this thread.

    I was responding to Tango's views that we should deport people whose views we disagree with. I'm just wondering why in her opinion that should be restricted to racists, when there are so many other unCanadian views we could deport.

    What's the top speed of these little cars?

    Around 50k - fine for smaller city streets. There are streets I wouldn't take one on, where the commuters are gunning on or off the highway.

    I'm retired. I'm not in a hurry. And I belong to the largest demographic of retired people ever, and we want our cheap putt-a-bouts! :D

    I think we're going to have to protest for them, though. Watch out! Here come the raging grannies! beep beep! :lol:

    Horses and buggies are allowed on the road (with plates and a slow moving vehicle sign). Maybe we'll get horses to pull our EV buggies to Queens Park. :lol:

    Seriously, though, I'll be the first one to admit that there may be white supremacist types on here who hate everything Jewish, especially Israel. I know that.

    Your challenge, though, is to distinguish those half-brained clowns from the people who simply abhor Israel's recent and deadly attack on (-edit-) Gaza.

    We can hate the actions without being Jew haters or Israel haters.

    You don't help by making generalized put down statements like that.

    Even if this were to be true, how would the Palestinians know this and, why would they not celebrate the removal of troops and then explain to the world that Israel is going to attack in the near fuure without justification rather than providing unarguable justification for the attack?

    It is Israel's security that Israel is primarily concerned with and, since Israel is the one who can provide what the Palestinians desire would it not make sense to address their concerns?

    Try 'trade in return for stable guaranteed peace' instead. Work any better?

    Israel has to withdraw from the borders to allow an international safe zone. Then they can talk. They cannot talk while Gaza is under aggressive siege by Israel.

    It's not just about doing something nasty, but about what was done:

    Racial taunts and attacks attempt to exclude people from society by race.

    Those who attempt to exclude others should themselves be excluded.

    Of course, the 'deport on an ice floe with some Macdonalds fries' was a joke, but serves to illustrate the point: If you don't respect multicultural Canada, bugger off! :D

    You're missing the point, tango. Your analogy is flawed from the get-go. What would the US do if Canada and the rest of the Commonwealth (UK et al) had launched a sneak attack on a national holiday...July 4th, say...or perhaps Yom Kippur.

    Point being ... if besieged, maritimers might be lobbing a few projectiles into US territory.

    When they are not besieged, they won't be.

    Stop the siege of Gaza, Israel's problem projectiles are solved.

    I think cultural differences are what we notice. For example, I'm the same 'race' as lictor, but his culture is entirely foreign to me. We speak the same 'language' but with entirely different meaning.

    And it's a mistake to assume that race or culture differences are hierarchical in any pre-determined way, though they are in practice in some places sometimes.

    We're just different.

    But white supremacists are a 'different' kind of different ... so you see I'm doing it too.

    Maybe the white supremacists are right. They should be allowed to mingle with their "own kind".

    I would suggest putting them on an ice flow in the Arctic with an order of large McDonald fries. I would think that by the time the seagulls and the polar bears they would appreciate some diversity....

    I don't know. What should we do? Should we start teaching our kids to be suicide bombers and start launching useless rockets across the border?

    Anyway, the question is meaningless, as it assumes a completely incorrect version of history - that Israel just suddenly decided to blockade Gaza and launch military incursions. That is not the case. Israel has been doing this to defend itself.

    If Canada was jam packed with terrorists that constantly launched rockets and sent suicide bombers into the US, I would expect the US would have long since annexed all of Canada, permanently imprisoned everyone suspected of having participated in the attacks, installed a puppet regime that would be friendly to America, and maintained an occupying force of tens of thousands for the next half century at least. And they would have had every right to do so. In fact, not being one of the terrorists, I probably would have been cheering them on, as my quality of life would improve substantially under an American puppet government compared to a regime ruled by terrorist madmen.

    If Gaza was not blockaded and under seige, they wouldn't be responding with rockets.

    When people hold Israel to an impossible standard, forgetting what their own nation would do when faced with relentless terrorist attacks, that is imbalanced and biased.

    What do you think Canada would do/should do if penned in by military and naval blockades by the US?

    Because that's where the problem lies that gives rise to the Palestinian rockets.
