Who else is producing next generation fighter aircraft? For that matter what is being built for new airframe technology in the western world? Everything that has been put forward as an alternative on this board built by a western nation is airframe technology that is at minimum 20 years old if not older. There is only one company making these unless you want to open the bid again to the other x-35 competitor, boeing. But to open up a production run for 65 aircraft I wonder what the cost on that would be. But please pray tell who else would we get to bid on this contract with the requirements set out by DND? I bet you never knew about the joint strike fighter competition since you were probably too young in the 90's to have noticed it. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/f-35.htm Being an "educated" soul I would have thought they might have taught you about the the time value of money, inflation, and the effects of such on the purchasing power of currency. I guess I have given the "liberal" education system too much credit. You know nicky I am too old to be bothered with know it all teenager polisci students who have yet to live and gain a little life experience. Good luck on the ignore list, I am so tired of your rehashed professor's talking points. Go back to school the real world is going to eat you alive!

Does that reduce the need? Nope. Fine but like any liberal why pay less today when you can pay more later. Much like the fiasco the sea king replacement procurement has become. I wonder what something similar to this will cost taxpayers in ten years when the need becomes desperate and inflation has further eroded the buying power of our dollar. Not to mention the uncertainty of what the Canadian dollar will be worth ten years from now. Its like buying a home would you rather have bought 30 years ago when the dollar was worth more and the price was 20,000 - 80,000 or today when house prices are 260,000 to 400,000, dollar not having the buying power it once it and your mortgage cost eating up a higher percentage of your income.

Just when do you think the bulk of the geneva conventions were written? You may want to look this up, to verify it, but I beleive the first was written in 1864, the second in 1906, and the third which pertains to treatment of prisoners of war in 1929. But then again these would not apply anyway nor would anything else as nothing has really been set down in conventions of any type regarding the treatment of terrorists.

Whats the point of spending on public transport for stimulus, the only people it will employ are bus drivers. Not much point in taking the bus to work if you don't have a job to go to. so all those new buses and bus drivers would have been touring around town with close to empty buses, bet that would be good for the environment!

How exactly do you propose to do this in a foreign dictatorship? I am sure that a foreign government would be happy to have a referendum on whether or not their people should be liberated.

What is Maxime Bernier REALLY up to?

http://news.sympatico.cbc.ca/local/on/toronto_grocer_says_police_would_let_thieves_go/bfda46ea He was protecting his property. Bennett admitted stealing from him that day and returned to the store to do it again. But go ahead it side with the criminal put him above those he victimizes.
-
When protecting your property yes it is, the intent was not to break the law, the intent in this case was hold a person who broker the law until the police could take custody.
-
This is proof that in Canada we have no justice system, just a legal system.
-
How many average everyday people are trained in Criminal Law and know all the fine details of the criminal code of Canada? The message this send is either live with the boot of criminal on your throat or live with the boot government of your throat, in other words be victimized by criminals, or be victimized by the system your choice.

Do forget the shop owners in this area have had to pool money to bring in a security company because the police do not respond to their complaints. Note the irony of todays liberals contradicting the very philosophical teachings of the man that classical liberalism was based on.

"It is dangerous to be right when the government is wrong." – Voltaire "If you have ten thousand regulations, you destroy all respect for the law." – Winston Churchill

He conducted a citizens arrest which is not vigilantism.
-
The shop keeper acted when the police failed to do so. The government did not live up to it responsibility. If you saw someone being mugged or assaulted and had the power to stop it now rather then wait 20 minutes for the police to show up (if they show up), the perp to get away and the victim seriously injured. Would you still just wait for the police, if they even bothered to show?
-
What would make you think this was vigilantism, the shop keep wasn't wasn't applying his own justice, he made a citizens arrest and held the criminal until the authorities arrive to take custody. That is a big difference, and a very justifiable act.

Yet your willing to defend the methodology behind statistical representations. Why would it matter enough to you to defend that methodology even though you don't trust those types of surveys? Strange.
-
So are you telling me people (the Canadian public) have little understanding of break-ins, thefts of motor vehicles or parts, vandalism or theft of household property, theft of personal property, or violent incidents? Since this is what stats canada was inquiring about when they surveyed the individuals. I am curious small c do you really think you are more intelligent then the Canadians who answered this survey. What are you views on the Canadian public, because the picture I am getting from you is that you don't think very highly of them or their ability of comprehension and intelligence.
-
I though you said So no allowance for grey area here but its ok as it pertains to all other aspects of life?
-
You never answered the question. So small c do you support statistical representations or not because you are either blowing hot air in this thread or you were spewing it the thread for Ontario ER waits?
