  1. They have one or two, nothing that will destroy the world. It would be rather stupid of them to use them especially on south korea.
  2. No matter the Canadian channel thats what we get.
  3. All this worry about a news station. WOW People need to get a little perspective. Shmucks
  4. The data is there to come up with the percentage, do you know how to work a calculator?
  5. I implied that they were wearing out, I've never said they were bad. It's like the Sea King probably the best helicopter for its use with us, but we have wore them out.
  6. Its going to take ten years to get a replacement.
  7. I don't think you get it. http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/f18-hornets-keeping-em-flying-02816/
  8. Smallc military aircraft go through immense stress and strain and point hits when you can no longer service the airframe no matter how good the maintenance. The modernization is an upgrade package (weapon systems, avionics, engines ect) they don't rebuild the who aircraft. The term airframe refers to the mechanical structure of an aircraft,[1] and as generally used does not include the propulsion system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airframe At certain point the main-body(airframe) of the aircraft wears out and it loses its serviceablity.
  9. You don't like following links do you. You have still yet to provide on article of reference the supports you assertion.
  10. And yet the population per seat is a lot closer, in the HOC. The numbers are much closer most within a margin of 30,000 people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Commons_of_Canada#Members_and_electoral_districts Not to mention the redistricting and addition of seats with can happen, but is unavailable to the senate. What skews the numbers in the house of commons is the minimum number of seats each province must have as set out by the constitution.
  11. The CF-18 is nearing the end of the service life of the airframe they need to be replaced. We Just had another hit the turf in Alberta, luckily the pilot was able to eject. The G-20 was a waste, just as the expo is. As for parliament I don't care, the buildings need to be maintained.
  12. won't hurt them a bit. An Alberta Expo is a huge waste of money.
  13. If Edmonton wants the Expo Edmonton can pay for the Expo.
  14. Yes the liberals have, if you recall a phone call to the queen by Brian mulrooney for extra temporary senators to get legislation past.
  15. Prove it. With cites please. As it is stated in encyclopedias it was done based on region. 24 24 24 24, with Newfoundland, and the territories left out of the equation and assigned their own seats as was cited by wiki. It is not a house of representation by population.
  16. Someone should ask Nicky If it had to do with population why does Ontario have the third worst ratio of population to senate representation out of all the provinces. 1 senator to 509 000 in population. In other words they are one of the most under represented jurisdiction only slightly better then Alberta and BC. If it was based on population the ratio would be much closer to that of Quebec.
  17. This coming from some who said "The senate was set up roughly on a rep by pop basis just like the house." - Nicky Which was proved to be wrong. You had no idea how the seats were distributed.
  18. Your Argument isn't with me its with the encyclopedia and those who constructed the BNA act and amended it as they set out how the Sentae seats were to be divided. But I do wonder what they taught you in U of T since this highschool social studies in Alberta. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senate_of_Canada Your Liberal hero was such a genius (sarcasm). He didn't create a mechanism of redistricting to re balance the Senate when he fixed (cough cough) the constitution.
  19. Siapan all he can do is appoint those elected to a senator in waiting list, without a constitutional amendment. A Majority makes no difference.
  20. Thats fine I'm not looking for Ottawa to be able to unilaterally change the constitution, but as it stands now, any constitutional amendment is virtually impossible.
  21. What I'd like to see is the provinces get together and change the amendment formula to the constitution.
  22. Not if it is non binding and creates the expectation of senators to step down after 8 years.
