  1. So again I ask what happens over the summer and winter breaks when the house isn't sitting do those departments cease to run? Parliament has not been suspended indefinitely.
  2. You are a staunch liberal partisan. It is a normal occurrence, who says the government has thrown their agenda out the window, in fact with this they will now be able to rebuild the committees in the senate to better reflect the make up the senate so that they are better able to move forward the government agenda.
  3. Is the culmination of those rights removed when the house is suspended for the summer? The government cannot rule by decree new legislation still requires the approval of the house of commons and the senate.
  4. So you have a problem with the information on the number of times proroguement has been used by all the governments of this country coming from the Library of Parliament, since that is where this data came from?
  5. It hasn't been shut down all the parties can continue asking the questions they want when parliament resumes on March 4. Nor has democracy been suspended, has your right to suffrage been removed? Nothing is stopping the opposition from making statements to the media.
  6. oh yes it will, I have learned not to take such things at face value. I want to know the reality of the situation so that means looking beyond the provided commentary.
  7. I haven't seen the conservatives do anything like adscam, has the PM choked a citizen? Face it you just don't like that it is a conservative government controlling the agenda.
  8. Thats not what the left have been saying they have been misquoting to make it sound like its what the majority of canadans think not those that kinda have been paying attention or don't care to at all. Somebody earlier stated that those who don't care probably don't vote but this is incorrect as well because 65% have not payed attention or are vaguely aware and vote turnout hasn't dropped to 35% yet federally.
  9. Haven't seen you do it.
  10. Ekos itself is holding only half the poll accountable do I need to bold it for since you seem to be incapable of reading. [if aware of Stephen Harper’s decision to prorogue Parliament] Do you support or oppose Stephen Harper’s decision to prorogue Parliament until early March? Right here ekos removes 41% of the respondents
  11. Funny you seem to ignore any argument that refutes your opinion. But i guess you are incapable of critical thinking.
  12. So you don't dispute that when the numbers are actually looked at only 27% actually care that parliament was prorogued.
  13. go back and re read my post on your "numbers". And how they are wrong. I even included the math for you. But I bet you never read the polls or look at the methodology. Vitally important.
  14. I guess this needs to be reposted for both yours and others benefit. http://www.scribd.com/doc/24917646/EKOS-prorogation-report-January-7-2010
  15. really what have you been posting for the last 24hours....spin. no response to the numbers in the ekos poll though after a little light was shined on the questions.
  16. go back and re read it, I hit the post button before it was done. It has been edited.
  17. So that means the 41% that strongly opposed were only of the 67% that new of the issue. so whats 41% of 67% 0.41*67=27.47% are opposed
  18. Looks like that other then the liberal party (4% difference) The majority of each of the other parties doesn't seem to think this topic warrants much attention since they either aren't following it closely or are even following it at all.
  19. So 23 days they miss, they will still be sitting 118 days, hardly the extreme you seem to think it is.
  20. In the last election Nanos was 2% off on the CPC vote percentage and a fraction of a % off the other parties vote percentage
  21. Well since the then liberal dominated senate couldn't pass a two paragraph bill to reform it, I guess when it is re-introduced now a CPC dominated senate will.
  22. How many people can they talk to between late friday night and sunday night and spend a least an hour with the family? Do you live in Reality because a vast majority of the Mps live beyond driving distance of Ottawa. some mps have hours loong flights only to have to drive a couple of hours once they get off the jet.
  23. Funny how this poll lists 65% of Canadians either aren't following this story or are not following it closely.
  24. In three weeks the liberals and the NDp will be whining about something else, in fact I'm sure it will be as soon as Harper appoints new senators to fill the vacancies.
