It's not silly  but it shouldn't be based on race or height, it should be based on shoe size. I wear a 9 1/2. And we are the elite of everything. 9 1/2's of the World, Unite!!!!

Okay, jousting aside, if you have actually served in the military, let me say thanks. America is the one nation that largely keeps the world safe, including Canada, and let me go on record as saying I respect the men and women who serve in the US Forces. I certainly don't mean any disrespect for America's veterans or Veteran's day. Salute!

What the...? It 's not like the Tories have given Alberta anything we didn't already have. Ralph Klein's former seat is now held by a Liberal, remember?

And put all those US Defense Industry employees out of work? No you wouldn't. -
RWandan Lives saved by Canadian Forces: 30,000 Rwandan lives saved by US forces: 0 Like I said, the world doesn't care how much "renewable" blood the US loses on the battlefield. You sure as heck are not out there offering yours though, now are you. Talk about writing cheques with your mouth.

As long as it's arrogant American blood, the rest of the world doesn't care why the hell they fight.

No offense, Eyeball, but the big problem with Anarchy is that it doesn't work.

Never mind the squirrels, here in Edmonton our neighbourhood has been terrorized by huge gangs of bull-rabbits!!! Sure, they sit all quiet and cute and fuzzy and white in the snow on your lawn, but look at them the wrong way and they'll go for your throat, I'll tell you. The have the look of death in those little bunny eyes they do!!! And those little buck-teeth...SHARP! You ever see one, you best off to cross the street and just keep on walking. Those little fluff balls are killers. Australians are better off to stay home and take their chances with those Funnel-Web spiders.

Not sure I follow you here. The tone of the person posting as Bush-Cheney sounds very much like someone I know from Chilliwack, BC who's very pro American. I myself was born in Edmonton but my father's side of the family is from the US Midwest

George W. Bush lands at Tel Aviv and....

At least it don't take them Kuh-nadians over a year to decide who they wan't to be prime minister. Unlike our own Pres'dential race every four years, an' the las' couple times, we'all still couldn' quite figger it out when it was all sayed and do'd. Gonna get worse 'afore it gits better, too, I reckon. Heck, anymore US debt gets bought up by them Chinese, mos' of us 'mericians ain't gonna know who owns the mortgage on the family farm. Might hafta move the young'uns ta China and take up share croppin'. O' course y'all can jus' throw me some greenbacks for now an Ah'll agree to fergit the whole thang 'til it's too late. -
Don't tell the Americans...they think they run the world and they'll be upset. Don't want to upset the Americans.

What's so novel about wind pulling ships across the ocean? That's how it was done for centuries before they had steam.

Don't be defined by other people's standards. Responsibility is an individual thing.

There's a lot happening in China that will come to light as it opens up more. I have a friend in Edmonton who is a computer tech and is from China and also another who is a professor at the U of A. Both of them say the central government can only rectify problems if they know about them. The way China is emerging politically is making that a difficult process. The emerging power base now is at the level of local government, which is good, because it's becoming more democratic, the problem is that they are subject to presure from business interests as well. I think media reports, even if they cast China in an unflattering light, will be good for development in the long term if ithey focus the attention of the Chinese leaders where it's needed. Even though China is still communist, some political pressure can hopefully be brought to bear.
