Canadian History - Economic Inequalities?
MontyBurns replied to Hyru's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Ahh yes ... the good old days of the early 19th century. Before all this "equalness" foolishness got started. Now we are advanced and have discovered ways to make male=female and black=white. -

A day in the life of Joe Republican
MontyBurns replied to Carinthia's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I agree completely. -
I was never in Greenland but I have met people from there. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against natives, I would like to see them become successful. I see absolutely no reason why they can't be successful. I think in years past Canada has been almost too generous to native Canadians and has supressed their natural instincts to look after themselves.

A conservative vs. a socialist (NDP) government
MontyBurns replied to 1967100's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canada and the Europeans are both heavily influenced by socialist policies and have low birth rates. USA is more conservative and has highest birth rates in developed world. It isn't completely false. Conservatives are more family oriented and thus have more kids. -
I hope he doesn't inplement them.

A conservative vs. a socialist (NDP) government
MontyBurns replied to 1967100's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The aboriginal reserves are hardly a success story for socialism. In my opinion the future belongs to groups such as Christian evangelicals, Mormons and Muslims. These people see a future for themselves wheras secular people don't. For example, the Europeans (generally secular and socialist-minded) don't even see the point in reproducing. The Muslims are only too happy to come in and fill the void that the Europeans are leaving because of their defeatist thinking. -
I think Canada has been extremely generous to it's natives. I would love for them to be successful like other ethnic groups. Like I said, if you ever speak to Inuit people from Greenland they do not get on with the same foolishness as Canadian natives.

A conservative vs. a socialist (NDP) government
MontyBurns replied to 1967100's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So true. Human nature is the same in either conservatism or socialism. These are just two different ways of achieving power. That being said, if given a choice between the two I would choose conservatism. Conservatism comes naturally while socialism does not. All great cultures in history have been conservative. Once a culture becomes socialist it becomes sick. The people stop working for themselves and rely on the government too much. Another problem is that socialist countries are notorious for small families, abortion, divorce, feminists, anti-religion, etc. This causes the birth rate to fall and then the population begins to contract. The social programs promised cannot be provided as the population ages and things fall apart. Immigration is then needed to keep it running but this further destroys the original culture. -
That's for sure. Canada has spoiled it's natives. Just look at natives from Greenland. They act nothing like our natives here in Canada. They don't have the same sense of entitlement.

These ratings are made by left-wing organizations such as the UN. I'm not saying that these ratings are totally meaningless but I take them with a grain of salt. Look at the results of this poll. Ask yourself, do you really want a system where all your money is taken in taxation in order to further "disadvantaged" groups? Do you really want to spend all your time listening to feminists and gays whining? Myself, I would prefer a system where my hard work is rewarded by me getting ahead. I am sure you want the same as well. Just think about it. -
A conservative vs. a socialist (NDP) government
MontyBurns replied to 1967100's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There is no difference between socialism and communism. Socialism is a path on the road to communism. I do not think Sweden or Finland are sucesses in my opinion. They are somewhat successful because of their capitalistic market system not because of their socialist policies. All countries that have tried socialism have gone down the toilet. Even the Chinese only became successful after they copied the US open market system. -
I do agree with Harper and the above statement. Don't you?

A conservative vs. a socialist (NDP) government
MontyBurns replied to 1967100's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The Conservatives are in a strange position where they have to be socialist in order to make the country more non-socialist. By the way people, in case you haven't heard, socialism does NOT work. I repeat, socialism does NOT work. This is the reason why the Soviet Bloc went to ratshit and the good ole USA reigned supreme. If you do not believe this then I suggest you take a trip to a former socialist country in Eastern Europe to open your eyes. Canada is absolutely foolish to take it's policies from such a completely failed system.
