Natives have right too says Canada
charter.rights replied to William Ashley's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Trapping licences are "commercial licences" and I pointed that out earlier. But I never said that hunting lodges constituted a licence. What I said is that lodges are a commercial hunting industry. You do need to keep up. -

Not at all. I believe Shwa was pointing out that you are supporting a bigot. I already did. Hunting lodges support commercial hunting even though licencing is individual. The same applies to the vast fishing lodge network in Canada. On another front since natives are entitled to earn a moderate living off their hunting and fishing, they can sell some of the harvest (and they do). -

Incorrect. Straw man arguments like yours are typical of those who prefer to deflect identification of their weaknesses. The real problem is that guys like Saipan are so fixated on their hate, that when facts are presented them simply ignore them and go on repeating the same crap. That is the real sign of a bigot. -

The bigots will never change their mind even after being proven the fools they are. -
Seems Ford has already started to cause trouble. He clams he can scrap "Transit City" without the rest of Council's approval. Seems there will be people fighting against him just because they are fighting for democracy and he may not get his subway after all.

It is the poverty "industry". Solving the poverty issue would throw hundreds of thousands of workers out of a job, just in Toronto alone.

After 4 Bil. where's the jobs?
charter.rights replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The stimulus jobs did nothing to create new jobs, or to save those destined for the bin. Instead, I know for a fact that most of the stimulus went to already wealthy construction companies who were the preferred selections for projects. All that did was inflate the cost of many infrastructure jobs and line the pockets of Conservative supporters. In one place I know of the stimulus paid $80,000 for energy audits for about 100 homes, and the energy contractor made recommendations for the replacement of windows and doors to the tune over $500,000 for the 100 houses. The net savings will be about $40 per year per house in energy savings. Tell me that was a good use of the fund. -

There would be a worldview difference. What you see him nodding his head, he is merely agreeing that you are an idiot. Ever hear him say ah...ah.... (native speak ah = asshole). Very few "Indians" that I am in contact with every day see colour in people. Rather they are very aware of the settler worldview, which embraces justification for murder (Crucifixion) as a basis for their beliefs, or where "good" is apart from "evil" in the face of a reality that evil and good are often born out of exactly the same action. Good intentions often have an evil experience and conversely evil intentions sometimes work out for the good. As has been explained to me, their worldview is based on good and evil being what they are and instead balance is far more important. Differences are evident but it is hardly racist to point out that their worldview is different from ours and the influences, and colonizing of native people has led to the failures in their communities, and we are fully to blame for that. And by the way. When you are talking about an Anishnabe their nation is Ojibwa. Ojibway is the language they speak, or their linguistic group. Obviously you are not very close to your neighbour or you would have known this. And any anecdotal evidence you were trying to claim at his or her expense is based on a false authority argument. Poor boy. -
Equality? No such damned thing!

Nah. You expected the insult because you see yourself as inferior or less than his equal. Otherwise you would have stood up to him and simply walked away without another thought. He got to you because you believed there was a grain of truth to his put-down and all of this occurred within your own mind. He had nothing to do with it. In as much as he is rich, he cannot exist to you without your poverty. If you want what he has, and you think he wants what you have then you are exactly the same person - not of same value but the same person. Being wanting is evidence you are not free from your own master. -

I'm still not sure whether you are just dense or you are really that stupid. First Nations are involved in every profession, including the Armed Forces. Taxpayers are getting milked by the government and big corporations who ignore our rights. We OWE First Nations 100 times more than they have every received from us and it is unlikely that we will ever pay them back in full in the next 10 generations. Another stupid and mentally retarded statement. Early Europeans had pissed and shit in their water for so long that it was undrinkable and when they first came here were drinking beer (and giving it to their children). They spent most their time in the early years being stone drunk or stone on ergot infested rye. Time for invocation: FOAD Dumb ass. -

First Nations want what most people want - success and security. They want to do it their own way however, outside of the interference of government and the police state that tries to keep them down and disadvantaged. Yes. The failures of society start at the top - the Prime Minister and his government, corporations and big business who have no regard for the law or the rights of Canadians. -

Mohawk, Seneca, Choctaw, Ojibwa, Algonquin, Abenaki to name a few. Rights denied are rights removed. Ontario Hunting Lodges, Camps, and Outfitters and Resorts These are commercial hunting operations. There are many where the resort owners and guides are aboriginal as well. -

Nope. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms protects their rights just like it protects ours. They have the same rights as us, except because of their nationality (not race based) as First Nations the Charter also protects them from the tyranny of the majority, or from being strip of their inherent and inalienable rights because some people like you prefer racism to education. The very fact that we have over the centuries abused, ignored and obfuscated aboriginal rights to our benefit is evidence of attempts to remove their rights. -

It is neither. Both are the same person. -

Not at all. It is possible to know and live the rule. However, if you knew the secret no doubt you could be wealthy, with every need satisfied and no need to condemn either the rich man or the poor. "For what is freedom but needs met? To be bound by a yoke of poverty is not a life to be lived, but one to be loathed in servitude to the master. You know him well. His name is written on your forehead." -

"...they are pretenders." No more than the poor boy who sits on his ass in the mistaken belief that he holds the secret of all life. I mean the rich guy the and poor guy are exactly the same people. Both worship money, one for what it can do and the other for what it can't. The truly gifted person is one who can balance both sides to benefit not only him or herself, but others around them, without tipping into one or the other. And those who hold the secret needn't boast about it, since knowing does not require showing. -

So this is your CV. Hmmmmm. very interesting. But since we all knew you were a whack job beforehand there was no need to post your credentials...... Nope. I don't work for any Bands or any Governments. I am self-employed, sit on the boards of 2 financial institutions, and am a partner in a development company on top of all that. Money money money...I love what I do for a living and people just send me money....well...because I'm me.... But I don't need to say more. My dogs have more ambition than a two-bit underachieving mail clerk working for the government...ummm.....that would be you.... Oh and one more thing. I would put my $3/4 of a million 10 acre estate up against your cock roach infested apartment any day. For you the Royal Ottawa would be luxury accommodations. Take a holiday you DESERVE it -

He is making a racist statement. Whether or not it is based on his belief that race is a determinant would be subject to further examination. -

Social construct or not it exists every bit as much a homeless people do and we have to deal with its implications. Racism exists. -

You are still wrong about brown people. East Asians and Africans are different races so in this example it would still be racist. The definition describes racist, not just different colours of people's skin. -
What can you do to stop racism?
charter.rights replied to charter.rights's topic in Local Politics in Canada
It depends. If you are a brown person of the same race, then it is racist, just ethnicist. However, if you are Caucasian, then yes it is racist. It is all about belief and intent. And TrueMetis only has half the brains of Argus, so I wouldn't listen to her. -

You can deny the definition all you want. Your opinion means nothing. And if you want you can find another term for it but it is not racism. Now the term you could be looking for is ethnicism
