  1. Developers do trust HDI because they have been consulting with 6N and now the HDI for over a year. The problem is the friggin' mayor keeps shooting her fat mouth off as if there is a conflict between what 6N want and what the developers want. It is just a matter of process and big mouth politicians have no place in that.
  2. Having an opinion and expressing it in creative ways is more than civilized. Trying to stifle discussion because some people don't like the words, or the content is bullish and somewhat pedantic. If you are offended by what you read hit the ignore button and then don't read it. I'm sure we'll get along fine discussing these threads amongst ourselves.
  3. That is just another baseless comment. Between drop-outs and teaching failures there are still about 28% of the kids in high school not obtaining a diploma. So that's over 1/4 of all students getting left behind..... The number of students who graduate after five years in high school has gone up - from 68 per cent in 2003-04 to an estimated 72 per cent in 2004-05.
  4. Of course the rise of the Western Civilization was the result of theft of ideas and technology from other civilizations.....If western civilization is such a grand concept, how is it that it is not self contained? I mean it requires constant expansion into other territories and markets just in order to sustain what it currently has. The problem is that using theft as a means of profiting eventually will lead to its end...oh wait...it is already collapsing... The first signal to collapse of the Roman Empire was the failure of its institutions and low and behold our institutions are failing all over the place - including our governments. Yet theft is still going on. That's not inventive, innovative or unique. And even though Genghis Kon might have been proud, theft is still a dirty corporate secret.
  5. Your ancestral claim to title is not the same thing as a Native claim to land. Claim to title is only a right, to which the government and the public holds a greater right. Natives hold ownership of all lands and it is recognized and protected by the Royal Proclamation 1763. There are no property rights entrenched in the Constitution. Ever wonder why? It is because Canada has no ownership of any land, and only holds a right through treaty, or agreement. Your title to land comes directly from the treaty or agreements made with First Nations. In the absence of definitive treaties or if the clarity is in dispute, First Nations can claim back the lands and resources since their aboriginal right to the lands and resources is protected under the Charter. The resources we use is subject to the treaties we signed with First Nations. However, they still own the land outright.
  6. Wrong. The Iroquois Confederacy among others have been trading up and down and across the Americas long before Columbus ever set sail. How else do you think Hernando de Soto knew there were vast deposits of gold here? You must remember too that the earliest record of human habitation of the Americas predates the occupation of Europe by at least 10,000 years. And had the Europeans not evolved to be the thieves they are it is likely they wouldn't have the technology, or the food resource to have even traveled here. In the scheme of things, whitey is a late comer and not smart enough to invent much.
  7. It's an opinion. You don't have a say in what I believe or how I express it.
  8. Anyone can attend. Anyone can attend. Anyone can attend. Many people love the idea of focusing on afro-centric topics and culture using modified teaching methods to reach kids that would otherwise be left out of the system. Maybe they'll even teach "gang-speak" (or whatever they call it) as a second language. Cool huh?
  9. What YOU don't seem to get is that the Confederacy IS a government. Constitutionally it has more power than the province IF it decided to be part of Canada. As a sovereign state independent of Canada, they don't have to answer to the federal government since it is nothing more than a Crown corporation. Our federal government also answers to the Crown. So IF the developers come and consult (and the province is requiring municipalities to submit their official plans for HDI approval) then there is more security of the future than there presently is with the province refusing to consult. You see as it stands the right of occupation (estoppal) in cases where there hasn't been any consultation leaves developers to what ever wind is blowing that day. The Confederacy historically have been people of their word so if there is a commitment and approval for certain development, then it is pretty much secure. The HDI isn't concerned about the money as much as they are in taking over jurisdiction of the Haldimand. They have been very clear in their assertions that some lands are considered "green zones" (development permitted) others are yellow (heavily reviewed before approval) and many others are red zones (no development). This is more intensive then the Grand River Conservation Authority, but clearly defines their jurisdiction. From what I understand the HDI is not opposed to development but wants to ensure that it fits in with their future needs and doesn't interfere with their claims in dispute over land titles. I agree that no one should be building on disputed lands. It is too bad that the provincial and federal government s haven't got the balls to deal with them honestly and clear the way for future development. You are right that develoment has fallen off greatly but the blame lies clearly with our government's refusal to deal with the issues, not Six Nations desperate attempts to get their own lands back under their control.
  10. Most of them are saying "cool!" All Black School
  11. Nah. Those are based on cultural differences and the propensity in the past was for white anglo males to dominate the workforce and make all the rules. We have affirmative action type programs for women too but you don't see us implying the gender differences are gone even if the women's skin colour is the same. The problem is that all those years where whitey was in charge he built rules that restricted minorities and women from HIS jobs. Now it is necessary to tip the scales in the other direction in order to find a balance. Right now with the top two contenders for the next President the democrats have put a woman and a minority in the running. I would say we are pretty much where we needed to be.
  12. Maybe you should check out Osgoode Hall. They have a replica of the Two Row Wampum - a recognition of the Confederacy sovereignty - affixed on the wall of their Great Hall. Lawyers are bottom feeders for the most part. I'm not sure becoming a Great Bottom Feeder is something to get excited about.
  13. Ask the city or the upper tier municipalities the same questions and you'll get a good answer. There is no reason to believe that an organization that has been modeled after our planning agencies would be any different. Besides, it is our government we have to worry about since they have broken every treaty, agreement and trust with First Nations across Canada, not the other way around. Even in Ontario, a developer never has "clear title". All he has is an approval system that makes sure all the checks have been made. After all is said and done, the government can change its mind or insert a criteria that was not originally anticipated....and I have seen this time and time again when dealing with planning issues. The best that any developer can do is to consult with every agency that holds an interest in the development. That has always included Six Nations but was more often ignored by the area municipalities and the provincial government. Now there is a formal mechanism to apply to, consult with and meet the requirements of Six Nations.
  14. People who want to identify themselves as Canadians, can't be Mohawk. It is prohibited in their Great Law.
  15. "Rocks at Whiskey Trench". I would concur that the Army showed their true cowardly misfit colours on that day. Watch the movie.
  16. Ya and Jesus-sodomites is a good description. Sexual abuse isn't about sex. It is about power and the Jesus-sodomites like to ram it up the collective asses of anyone whom they can dominate.
  17. The fact is that not only was pedophilia condoned by the Church, but it is still being hidden and denied by them. This has nothing to do with "Indians" (a derogatory term in itself). It has to do with the deplorable, despicable violent and immoral views of religious fanatical Christians. Those who believe they have a God given right to impose their views on others are not Christ-like. They are sinners and egoists lost in their own insanity.
  18. Not half white either. All 100% Mohawk.
  19. No a Mohawk is person who can trace their Mohawk ancestry back through the women and accepts the Great Law. There is no dual citizenship allowed.
  20. A "white nationalist" = "white supremacist" according to Stormfront. Do you have the albino gene? Because there really is no such thing as a white person per se. We're all just different shades of brown. That really doesn't give you any credibility. It simply levels you to "nothing special".
  21. There is no such thing as a "half-Mohawk" or 1/4 or what ever. Either you are Mohawk, or you aren't. It has nothing to do with blood quantum.
  22. I didn't have a change of heart. Christians who try to impose their beliefs onto others are Jesus-sodomites, IMO. Just like the priests who try to teach little boys with their pants down. Where are you going with your point?
  23. The Crusades are always going on. Their format may change and their methods may change but their objective remains constant. Either become a Christian or be treated like a devil outcast. That's what you are doing, is it not? People can believe and practice their beliefs anywhere they want in this part of the world. However, the moment they use their religious beliefs as a weapon against other people, or nations, or belief systems, they become the devil incarnate. The Christ never forces its beliefs because too many people are heavily rooted in the ego of sin and misery and their judgment could be terribly tainted by that sin. Christians believe in sin, correct? That makes them sinners and sinners are not capable of realizing Divine Perfection because it is their nature to see imperfection where there is none.
  24. Being critical of someone at the HDI for not doing their homework, one would think you would have at least researched what you are talking about first. For the most part, development is approved at the municipal (or second tier municipal level). Permits are issued by the municipality having jurisdiction. Development approvals are completed there and for the most part cannot be appealed, since the approval is issued by way of a Site Plan Agreement, or Subdivision Agreement signed by the municipality and the developer. Other approvals, such as MOE may come as permits where some extraordinary imposition is on the land but rarely this is contained within the development approvals. Municipalities charge "user pay" fees for processing and researching applications. The cost of reports or studies is born entirely by the developer. Once the agreement has been reached and registered on title, the developer must pay development charges which often range into the tens of thousands for small store-type developments to hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars for large industrial or mega projects. This is the cost of doing business - no guarantees come with the money payments and it is put into a development fund for capital against community projects (publicly funded arenas, pools and parks) that benefit the citizens. The model for HDI appears to come directly from that model. They are acting no more mysterious or mischievous than any municipality. Since we are required by supreme law to consult and accommodate First Nations where they have an interest in the land, it would appear that the HDI fulfills that purpose, where our governments have failed miserably. I applaud them for such a forward thinking way to solve a problem and move on. Too bad all you seem to be interested in is raising the rhetoric against coming to a common solution.
  25. Sure. Just like the Crusades, huh.......? In fact the REAL problems in the world come from western Christian-based colonial expansions into other nations. People are not only sick and tired of having "the man: in their face, but are terribly disgusted with the hypocritical Jesus lovers saying one thing and doing another. When YOU can prove that you follow Christ in a Christ like manner, then you'll have earned my respect. Otherwise you are just another Jesus-sodomite trying to ram YOUR version of Christian hate and sanctimony up our collective asses. BTW the proof is in the works, not faith alone.
