1 in 5 people in Canada are now immigrants
kengs333 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Before WWI Germans were among the few preferred immigrants, largely because they were hardworking farmers, industrious, efficient, and rarely complained. Then the war came along and their culture was destroyed and Canada has suffered ever since. -

Radical Feminism and environmental contaniments; that's what's happened. (By the way, Gunter Grass served in the Waffen SS during WWII) -
Why have Israelifascists overtaken this board?!

Yeah, Einstein, it's also against FORUM RULES to quote massive blocks of posts like you did and just type a few words of your own. Maybe you should smarten up before you go around telling other people what's "illegal" around here. -

Yeah, whatever, this is this is the biggest pile of kosher baloney that I've ever seen. Your Kerouac-esque stream of conciousness diatribes have done much to lower the level of debate here a couple of notches alone. I'd sure love to debate Israel here in a reasoned manner, too, if it weren't for the fact that certain people like to laden their responses with like fifty accusations of anti-semitism. -

If we stopped allowing mass immigration for a generation eventually we'd get to the point where the vast majority of people under the age of 25 would be Canadians regardless of ethnicity, and so that stupid hang-up of assuming visible minorities are foreigners would no longer be a problem. -

No, I think you've got things mixed up a bit: you should really be asking "Since when did Canada and Canadians [want to] become... closed minded, closed hearted and ignorant gits?" Not wanting certain groups or ideas to enter a society is not always indicative of intolerance and bigotry--sometimes it is actually better for the society in question. No, it has nothing to do with "undesirables" in a racial sense as you would have it, rather there is a problem with the agenda that certain groups have. Moreover, at some point immigration simply has to stop and Canada's society has to grow and evolve on its own. One aspect of a functional society is the ability of a citizen to go anywhere they want to and to be able to communicate and function wherever they go in that society. Allowing 250,000 people--regardless of where they come from--a year to enter a country of only 30 million is really causing certain regions to become balkanized. Not to mention the fact that Canada is slowly being fractured through the landclaims process, as well. -
No he didn't bring up an "interesting topic"--it's among several inflamitory topics that he started to cause s--t and hijack the forum in general. Which is why he is no longer with us.

If they didn't pull back, they'd either still be at it or WWIII would have started by now.

Interesting way of putting it: "main religion". Most people are little more than Christian in name; those that actually attend church, understand the Bible, truly have faith in Christ and try to lead a Christian lifestyle are in the vast minority. Simply put, we live in a secular society; the education system is secular, the media is secular, our "culture" is secular.

The times have really changed, and the situation is somewhat more complex. Here's a thought: Let's say Spain became a facist dictatorship again, but this time decided to wage war against Britain, France, and the rest of Europe; surprisingly, within the course of several months they are victorious and occupy much of Europe and begin turning it into a fascist Empire. Throughout the Spanish-speaking world there is a new found pride in their heritage and widespread sympathy for Spain and fascism. Canada decides to join the effort to free Europe once again from the evils of facism. For whatever reason Canada's immigration policy also dictates that there is a need for 1.6 million immigrants during the next five years and that for whatever reason the majority of people interested in immigrating come from Mexico, central and south America, and even Spain itself. Given that the rise of the new Spanish empire in Europe has had some sort of impact throughout the Spanish-sleaking world, would it be logical to allow 250-400,000 Spanish-speaking people into this country during the next few years while involved in this war? -

In all fairness, though, I think we should be finding people who are more interested in becoming Canadians, though. I'm not saying that all people who immigrate from China or who are Muslims don't have this intention. Some want to escape from deplorable living and political/social conditions. It's just that in my personal experience I've noticed that people from China in particular seem to view Canada merely as a place to accumulate personal wealth for the betterment of their lifestyle in China. As for Muslims, well, where to begin... As well meaning and nice as most Muslims may be, they bring with them in some cases the seeds of future problems already seen in places like Britain and France. These are problems that won't be negated by a more tolerant and accomodating society such as Canada's, because the problems are inherent to Islam and will always fester where there are larger groups of Muslims. It's not the same as what has happened in the past with other ethnic groups arriving in Canada, where they did settle down and assimilate. On the other hand, if you look at the influx of eastern Europeans and Ukrainians in the early 1900s and look at the impact that this had on labour radicalism, the spread of Communism and Socialism in this country, and how it has continued to have a lasting effect, we do see what could potentially happen when another large group of people with a strong ideological identity establish themselves in Canada. -
I'm "green" to a certain extent, but I could have told you that all this alternative fuel stuff is just an attempt to find alternatives for continuing along the same consumerist course as we are now--most people who are environmentally concious still don't want to give up the comforts of modern civilization. The sad thing is even if we went back to using horses there would still be serious problems, because the ultimate problem is the fact there are too many people on this planet.

The only sensible thing you've said so far in your 48 posts-per-day rantings and ravings.

You've been here only two days. If your conduct is at all indicative of your conduct in personal relationships--if you have any--I loathe to think what they have and/or will become, and what you may one day end up perpetrating against innocent people.

I've always disagreed with this treatment; the most decorated Canadian in WWI was Francis Pegahmagabow, and Tommy Prince I believe was among the most decorated in WWII. Both were Ojibway. Both were treated disrespectfully despite all they did by the Canadian government, and recognition of they accomplished did not come until too late. I understand how this mistreatment has probably influenced in some way the continued resentment that some Natives have towards the government; but at the same time it needs to be recognized that this injustice is not something that many Canadians are now proud of. So what exactly does holding it against us and future generations of Canadians accomplish? Incidently, it should be noted that Natives were not generally regarded in the same light as Blacks; Natives did usually serve in front line units, while Blacks did not. Not to lessen the discrimination that was inherant in the military, but still, there was a distinction.

Gary McHale Assaults a Six Nations Woman

Funny how every time some "warrior" from Six Nations gets arrested they have outstanding warrants for assault, attempted murder, smuggling... No, that's right, "no laws broken by Six Nations"... -

Have they looked at your tape where you guys make fat jokes about him? -
Well, let's see... the persecution of the Christians began prior to 70AD, and among the persecuters was a man named Saul who as you may know became the Apostle Paul, who in turn was persecuted as well and eventually put to death. Some verses from the NT that may be of interest: Acts 6:12--So they stirred up the people and the elders and the teachers of the law. They seized Stephen and brought him before the Sanhedrin. Acts 7:59--While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Acts 11:19--Now those who had been scattered by the persecution in connection with Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch Acts 13:50--But the Jews incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. Acts 14:19--Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. Acts 17:5--But the Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city. They rushed to Jason's house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd. Acts 17:13--When the Jews in Thessalonica learned that Paul was preaching the word of God at Berea, they went there too, agitating the crowds and stirring them up. Acts 22:4--[Paul says:] I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison... Acts 23:12--The next morning the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul. and so on and so forth... Let's not forget that there Christians were very much caught up in the events of 70AD and afterwards and it's no doubt that many are to be included in the inflated figures you provide as they were really regarded to be a sect of Jews rather than a seperate religion; that didn't come until the second century, when Roman writers started paying them more attention. Face it, wherever the Christians went, they were subject to persecution; initially by the Jews, later by the Romans when Christianity began to spread among the Gentiles. You may want to bone up on the ideological basis for the Nazi regime, because while the Nazis may have sugar coated things a bit with pseudo-Christian rhetoric--as was usually the case in Europe when a worldly ruler wanted to undertake something or other--it was by an large secular humanist, paganist and at times totally fabricated. Nice try, though.

Yet you recognized it as being German... There are many online dictionaries where you could get a translation, so stop being a nob. I'm wondering who you really are, and I wouldn't be surprised if you are one of the two or three current members that I have in mind. I notice that one began posting on this thread a few minutes after aras called it a day. Coincidence? -
Figures. There'll never be true equality until people like you learn when to shut up. Racism isn't only a white-on-nonwhite phenomena, no matter how mauch anti-whites/anti-Europeans will try to argue otherwise.

So basically I'm a bigot because I differentiate Christians who truly follow the teachings of Christ from those who are Christians in name only? So I'm a bigot because I belive that my denomination, which relies more heavily on a personal and literal understanding of the New Testament, was persecuted by the Catholics and Lutherans, not to mention the Communists, among others? So I'm a bigot for suggesting that Jews are no less inclined to allow the privilege of being the majority to effect their dealings with minority groups? So I'm a bigot for suggesting that Jews deny Christ as being the Messiah?

Oh, it's not a belief; it was just a flippant remark in response to one of Rue's stupid accusations. I don't even know what the "Aryanist" theory is on Adam and Eve because I don't read their literature and have nothing to do with them. Simply put, the book of Genesis talks about another race of humanoids already existing, not to mention the fact that many conquered people absorbed by the Israelites. As for my comments about Jews and Israel; so I said that Jews persecuted Christians and that they have always had animosity towards Christians. To me this is simply a statement of fact. Of course once the Christians became the majority, the roles reversed sometimes; but this doesn't negate the fact that they initially persecuted Christians, that when Jews are in the majority, Jews are more openly hostile to Christians. Of course I'm not saying that all Jews are the same in this respect, and that some Jews have no problems with Christians.

Boycott Catholic, Anglican, United churches
kengs333 replied to jennie's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Apparently neither do Indians, since this kind of thing was the norm prior being civilized by Europeans. Not to mention a whole host of unseamly "cultural" practices which now are conveniently ignored whenever Indians talk about reclaiming their culture. -

Ummm, no you don't, actually. -
I always wonder what would have happened had the United States simply committed all of its resources to Afghanistan instead of using the war on terror as an excuse to go into Iraq. A multi-national force of 500,000 really would have done much in the course of a year than will ever be accomplished with the current half-hearted effort in twenty. And probably a lot cheaper, too.
