Gary McHale Assaults a Six Nations Woman
kengs333 replied to Posit's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
It's an interesting assertion in a first post after an eight month hiatus. -
Oh those evil UK Muslims (and other darkies)

It seems to me that you're missing something here; the way I read it is that these people for some reason think that they have the authority to actually reassure Christians that we in fact do have the right to celebrate Christmas openly. Well, that's quite interesting. So now evidently we need the okay of recent immigrants with heretical beliefs before we native-born Christians can celebrate holidays the manner in which we are accustomed. -
Well, I suppose that's why he sent Jesus, isn't it? Jesus died for our sins because people are sinful, this is something people wilfully engage in and is something that God does not want to see happen, but regardless most people choose to do so anyway. To suggest that there is a sort of desire on God's part to see people suffer for eternity when they die becuase they have been unrepentant and lived a life of sin and denying God is a total--probably intentionally malicious--misrepresentation of what's written in the NT.
-
That's just utter nonsense. You clearly don't know what you're talking about. Yes, why indeed. Is it really that difficult to figure out that to understand why Jesus was sent, that one has to understand the history of the Israelites, what the prophets said, etc.? Who are you to say such a thing when you clearly have little understanding of the Bible and prefer to twist and misrepresent what little you "know"?
-
Again, you're argument loses any relevance when you start quoting from the Old Testament and clearly without understanding the context in which the verse was written. You said you were raised an evangelical Christian? Honestly? What denomination? The fact of the matter is that the early Christian movement had many female converts, and a number of disciples who were female. Actually, when you think of it, Christianity is very pro-woman--especially when you think of the time in which it came about; women were little more than whores and had little respect or importance in the pagan male-dominated societies of the time. With Christianity, women were assured a faithful partner with whom a peaceful, moral, and decent family could be raised.

It's really a no-brainer: The Queen is our head-of-state and therefore she should be here regardless of whether or not someone "invites" her. If I were her, I'd assemble a nice big Royal Navy armada escort and sail right up the St. Lawrence in grand Imperial Britannic fashion, too.

Why is Israel the biggest terrorist state in the world?
kengs333 replied to aras's topic in The Rest of the World
Although the connection between Nazism and Christianity are superficial, it should be noted that Hitler was raised a Catholic, that the Nazis first became significant in the Catholic south, and that the Catholic church fared quite well under the Nazis. The Nazis even supported the creation of a Croatian Catholic puppet regime. -

In all seriousness, the only people that I've every heard use "Earth to..." are haughty teenage girls and gay men. Would you care to reveal where you stand in terms of what you are? I've made it quite clear who I am and what I believe in, but I get the sense that you ( and several others) are hiding things that are clearly motivating factors in their ultra-hostile posts. -

Well, let's see, there are Jews that are hostile to Christianity, always were. Those that weren't usually became Christians because they recognized the truth about Christ. It's also not a big secret that many Jews joined the ranks of socialist and comminist groups, have always been leading proponents of these ideologies. And as for "insult Christans," well, what exactly is it you've been trying to do recently? It's really convenient to paint anything somebody with a differing opinion has as "anti-" something, and you obviously know what the implications are for somebody being branded an "antisemite". The fact that you would resort to this in such an unnecessary and brazen manner is, quite frankly, disgusting, shameful and repugnant. There's a difference between "refugees" and "immigrants," and my comments about refugees refers to their arrival in large groups. That's just the way it is; if that's the truth of the matter as revealed in the Gospels. It has nothing to do with people not agreeing with me, rather is the consequence of living a life of sin and not recognizing God as the creator and Jesus as our saviour, sent by God to die for our sins so that we may have an eternal life when we leave this mortal world. I guess that I'm not supposed to infer anything from your indirectly hostile critiques of the Christian faith, though, as that would just make me an antisemite. -

Not quite. But I guess one has to be something of an academic to fully appreciate and understand the nature of the debate surrounding his works. -

Oh, right, I'm really impressed: quoting a graduate of Bryn Mawr College, a women's "liberal-arts" college and someone who has either "feminism" or "feminist" in the title of the majority of her published works. -
It does, actually. It's funny though how people mock what's written in the Bible about punishment, but the second something like this happens they want these people's dicks cut off. Hypocracy. The fact of the matter is that they still have to be treated as humans regardless of what they did; but they also need to be removed from society.
-
Sure, when cops, lawyers, and judges are the very kind of people that perpetrate these kinds of crimes, there is. Sadly, too, the very kind of people who want these guys dealt with harshly in there own way contribute to the moral breakdown of our civilization.
-
Right, which is why Jesus came to die for their sins.

No, it states that women should respect their husbands and men should love their wives; it does acknowledge men as being the head of the household which the norm, but the NT teachs that all people are equal before God. Perhaps if you care to read anything on early Christianity you'd learn that women were instrumental in spreading the word of God, and that many of early converts were housewives and high-born women. Expecting that a woman devote herself to raising children is neither controlling or oppression; it's simply an acknowledgement that men and women have different roles, and in a truly Christian household, where a husband respects and loves his wife, this sort of arrangement is not a problem. The problem occurs in not truly Christian houselholds or in non-Christian households where there is no godly basis for the union, and men feel that they have the right to abuse their power or neglect their wife and child(ren).

I've actually requested that your repeated flagrant twisting, misrepresentation of my arguments, false accusations, etc. be dealt with in some fashion, but evidently that won't be forthcoming. I've grown somewhat tired of your hyper-rants, and this is a perfect example of the kind of content that I find objectionable. If you really cared to just stop and think, perhaps you would realize that I put the word undesireables in quotation marks, which to more literate people would suggest that I'm implying that I don't agree with the term; in other words, according to Nazi ideology, there were Aryans and non-Aryans--Aryans were good, non-Aryians were not good, and were considered "undesireable" races. The part of the sentence that states 'Jews and other "undesireables"' therefore refers to other races that the Nazis considered non-Aryan. -

Nazism was largely based on non-Christian philosophies and pseudo-scientific concepts such as social darwinism. http://web.csustan.edu/History/Faculty/Wei...hitler-evil.htm One can argue that North America is also "predominantly Christian" on a superficial level because there are a lot of churches around and a Bible is found in most every home--but the fact of the matter is that most people do not live a Christ-like life, rather simply consider themselves Christian in name, understand a little bit about what is written in the Gospels; but otherwise live a largely secular lifestyle. It's interesting that people put so much onus on the Germans for what they should have been aware of, but know next to nothing about what it must have been like to live in Germany at that time, just how little could have been known given the control of the media. -
Well, that's the kind of justice system we get when there is a collective moral breakdown in society.
-
This is hardly the case. Each case is subject to a number of factors, and anyone who pays any attention to what the judicial system does will know that these sorts of nonsensical things go all ways. One can only wonder how many people--most people in jails are men--are in jail on wrongful convictions. And let's not forget that a man can be arrested and go to trial based simply on a woman's accusation of rape or abuse, and if she can weather the attack on her character during the trial, they guy is toast. Also, when women go to jail, they go to resorts where they live the high life like Karla did supposedly in order to facilitate their rehabilitation; meanwhile, men are caged like animals, which only makes them more likely to re-offend. There have been several cases where a boy has been assaulted by a female teacher and the judge in one even said something to the effect of "lucky you".
-
And the judge is a female, no less. That's quite astonishing. Sadly we live in such a morally depraved world that such disgusting acts are committed all too regularly, but to have a "justice" system that is in itself depraved is most unfortunate.

Congradulations. But there is a difference between being able to read the Bible in its entirety and being able to comprehend it properly. The problem with referring to Genesis as a reason why people don't need religion, ie. Christianity, is the fact that everything that was written between the envent in Genesis and the coming of Christ is ignored. And, of course, it's always the Old Testament that is referred to, isn't it? No one ever seems able to make a convincing argument against Christianity using the New Testament.
-
Look at what you're dealing with, though. You could make rational, factual arguments about tis all you want but it will just not make a difference to some people. People who are wrapped up in their own sin simply have to lead a life that justifies their past indiscretions because their lack of faith leads them to believe that there can be no forgiveness for the error of their ways, that there is no meaning to life other than satiating wordly desires. And one of the means by which they seek to justify their lifestyle is to attack and destroy the faith that tells them otherwise; they fear goodness, they fear admitting they are wrong, and they fear taking responsibility for their actions.

Nazi ideology was not based on Christianity, although they may have twisted and then incorporated some elements of Christianity--largely derived from the Old Testament--in order to make themselves more palatible to the German people. Again, as I said, the Nazis were master propagandists, and they fooled many people into following them. Many intellectuals who initially supported them prior to 1933 later did not because the true nature of the regime became increasingly evident after they took power. But by that time it was already too late because the Nazis were quick to consolidate power and eliminate any political rivals that could pose a problem. Much of this went unnoticed by the German people just as what happens behind closed doors in Canadian politics goes unnoticed, and we have a much freer media than the Germans had access to. It's unfortunate that you have to make such hyperbolic statements that misrepresent my faith; of sourse were I to do the same about you, you would go hysterical with accusations of antisemitism and I probably would end up being banned. But what you are doing is, of course, nothing new, and really just does little more than the confirm things. Sad that you have to be that way, but I guess that's just the way it is. From Wikipedia article on "Christian Zionism" (emphasis mine): -
I'd have no problem with it. I do, however, find it interesting that Canada's inaction in this regard, and on the plight of Christians undergoing systemic persecution in other parts of the world, is not eliciting much condemnation. Interesting.
