Toronto School Board eyes "Afro-centric" school
kengs333 replied to g_bambino's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Where exactly is the hate and intolerance? Do you even have any clue what agenda these people have, where they get their "black nationalist" ideas from? You can't tell me after watching that video that these kind of people are out to do good. They're no more interested in having a multicultural society than a neo-Nazi does, but since they're not white we all have to sit here and say nothing about it for fear of being branded "racists" by people like you. -
Well, if that's true, then that means that dead bodies laying around is quite commonplace. That says much.

Anyone catch these people on TVO Thursday night? I haven't followed the discussion here, but I found the discussion on tv quite interesting. These people aren't congenial, well-intentioned educators who want to provide a better environment for students "of colour," rather are black-power, "de-colonialist" radicals who want to indoctrinate black children with their divisive, hateful beliefs. These people clearly have no intention of educating these children to be good Canadians, rather they want to instill in them a sense of black nationalism and a virulent anti-white/anti-Canada mentality. I'm wonder just what kinds of jobs these kids expect to get later in life with that kind of school on their resume? I wouldn't be surprised if this is the kind of guy that inspires them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ai0-6mWZivk -

Such hostility, anger, disrespect. A perfect example of how flawed your misguided God-hating wordview is. -

No it's not a complete seperation of Church and state. Seeing that being Christian and having faith in God and a belief in his existence and the teachings of Christ is a good thing, the attempt to remove Christianity from the institutions of this country is an attempt to undermine Christianity. There's no two ways about it. Of course there's nothing to say that this can't happen; Christians have existed in such situations before, and still do in some parts of the world. Persecution is to be expected. But once the influence of Christianity has been removed, and people are disuaded or intimidated into not believing; they become sinners, and the people who force this upon them are sinners; regardless of whether or not they believe in God, God is the one true God and unbelief will not change the fact that there are consequences from what people like you do. You don't know God, because if you knew God you wouldn't make such a falacious statement. What God expects of us is clearly stated in the NT--any other source is false prophecy. So wishing people not to be sinful and believe in God is "intolerant"? I don't think so. Jesus made it clear what is expected of his followers and that faith in God is the one true way. -

You're misusing the word tolerant. Why should Christians be "tolerant" of bad things when they clearly undermine their faith. "Intolerance" towards sin is different that "intolerance" of a person's ethnicity or opinions about politics and history. You say that your boss is concerned about what people will say about his letting you work on Sunday. Good. That kind of awareness of other people's concern about their Christian faith being respected is a good thing. Having faith, a conviction, a desire to abide by the rules expected of Christians to be followed may seem to you as being "intolerant," but that is because you deny those things and would rather put yourself before others or faith in God. Having faith in God means making sacrifices, being committed to something; that entails a certain degree of submission, which I suppose outwardly would appear to be "intolerance" etc. -

It's only hypocritical if one is ignorant and is also prone to making sweeping generalizations about history and the people who founded this country. Anyone with a basic understanding of Canadian history will know that the Europeans who came here did so for a variety of reasons, and not all of them were died-in-the-wool Christians. It's easy to draw simplistic pictures of everybody in the past being ultra-pious, but then, just as now, people adhered to the Christian faith--if at all--to varying extents. Some who came, came for economic reasons alone, or adventure, to get away from various problems. Unless you can specifically show how a soldier or adventurer specifically killed Indians based on his Christian faith, you're just blowing chunks. As you always have. Moreover, let's not forget, when Champlain showed up with guns, his Indians friends were the ones who asked him to come along on a raid and do some target practice on their enemies. If it wasn't for Christianity and European ingenuity, the people of North American would still be subsisting on cornmeal, dried fish and venison, eating with their right hand, wiping their asses with their left, dying by the age of 40, and be being buried in the floors of their crudely-built longhouses. -

Immigration and Multiculturalism in Canada

Your not exactly fooling anyone by "playing" the champion of human rights and then subscribing to exclusionist belief system that you have. Typical, you expect everybody assimilate and give up their belief systems while you go on your own way and not play by your own rules. I can't help but think that your post has once again proven why Canadians have the right to protect themselves against people who are bent on undermining the beliefs and institutions upon which it was founded. I'm a Canadian, a proud Canadian, and personally I really don't care for people who maintain a dual allegiance and spend their time trashing what Canada is and was when they no doubt are benefiting from the system they claim to have issues with. (Don't tell me you and your people haven't been profiting from "white privilege" all these years...) edit to add: The quotation contains parts of Rue's post prior to his edit which occured while I was compising my post. I regret not quoting it in full, as it was quite hostile and malicious. -

The thing is, that "comedy" about "Festivus" is a subtle anti-Christian attack. The normalization of certain ideologies in recent decades has often come in part through television sitcoms--not that's always bad. Watching M*A*S*H with its strong anti-war message as a kid had a significant influence on me. But on the other hand, it has contributed to a breakdown of North American society; has paved the way for the anti-male, anti-Christian, pro-gay, moral relativist and hedonistic society that we now have. You just have to look at who has much of the power in the entertainment industry--it's certainly not decent, moral Christians. In the end, Hollywood is rotten to the core, yet most people blindly accept the propaganda it spews out. They think that because it isn't controlled by the state and is the product of people who wear swastika armbands that there is nothing to be concerned about. -

Yeah, let's go back to the good old days when the Indians celebrated their "holidays" with mass human sacrifices. Nothing says tolerance like slicing open a captive's chest and yanking out their heart while they're still alive... -
Here's a news item that has received scant attention and will likely fade into obscurity, as do all cases of persecution of Christians: http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/071226/worl...ligion_unrest_4

Actually, I think most men in government, including that of Pakistan's, usually aren't all that "old". Politics requires certain attributes that many women usually don't want to develop, and that's necessarily not a bad thing from a moral and ethical point of view. Those that do take the plunge have long ago proven that women are quite equal when it comes to being ruthless, manipulative, deceptive, corrupt, self-serving, egotistical, etc., etc.--and sometimes even better than men at it. Like Belinda Stronach.

for starters try "The Canadian Revolution" by Peter C. Newman, pgs. 108ff., in particular pgs. 112ff where he discusses Canada's move into the "post-national world". He eventually states that "none" of the trends that he discusses will result in "the end of Canada"--but that's debateable. We've comes so far in being Americanized, that it's really just a matter of time.

The irony is that Harper comes to power and starts blowing big money on new toys for the military.

Most homicides are connected with some sort of criminal activity, though.
-
Excuse me? This has nothing to do with "conspiracy theorists". The general trend seems to be that our economic elite would prefer full integration & political union with the United States. This is something that has been around for awhile, and isn't exactly something that is within the realm of "conspiracy theory."
-
Doing quite well, I guess, if your inclined to see the country swallowed up by some sort of North American union.
-
Oh, yes, my mistake; I realize now that you didn't string five or six 1000+ word posts in a row, each specifically including my handle eight or nine times. So I guess you must not have been referring to me at all... Give me a break. We all know what kind of obsession you have with me, you fixation with trying vainly to prove me wrong. Nice try, no cigar. And of course you have to deflect criticism by making yet more personal attacks, unfounded accusations. I always find it interesting how people like you accuse a Christian's desire for people to be good, decent, and free from sin "hate". It sounds to me like you're the one expressing hatefulness with such remarks. I stated excluse, not superiority. I suppose this is not supposed to be construed as a slur against my supposed beliefs? To me it's no different than me making a patronizing remark to you about "run[ning] along" and playing with your dradle. Just another example of your typical baiting. Some things just never change.

America Envy/Anti-Americanism - Whence it Came
kengs333 replied to jbg's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Wow. Big deal. The only reason we have fixed election dates is because the Liberals managed to use the former system to their advantage to rightfully keep the conservative parties out of power for much of the last 40 years. Anyone who believes that this is somehow indicative of the Conservative's attempt to democratize the Canadian electoral system is a fool. If they really wanted to accomplish this, they'd institute a PR voting system, keep the senate the way it is, and stop eroding Canada's ties to the Monarchy. -
Let's hope this is Harpers last. Unfortunately, none of the alternatives are any better. Dare I say future historians will recognize this era (the end of the Chretien reign, his usurper Martin, and the Harper minority) as the beginning of Canada's decline. Canada was such a good thing, victim to the age old problems of corruption, bad leadership, and social balkinization.
-
I can only laugh when I read this. I wonder who you could be referring to... But while we're on the topic of deceptive misrepresentation, I find it interesting that people like you really feel justified in making such comments given that you adhere to a belief system that is fairly exclusive and is based in large part on the maintanace of a distinct idenity based largely on race.

Yeah, but, you can only discuss what happened according to what the article claims. In my opinion, an anti-Christian and a secular agenda are essentially the same thing. That's the way she's characterizing it. We have no way of knowing what the content of the emails/phonecalls really was, not how "Christian" the people making the comments were. Nobody's rationalizing "this behaviour" because none of us really knows what the comments were like. And you know full well that the response to this incident is not the same as that to those cartoons. Nobody's burning anything down, nobody's calling for a holy war. -

People complain about the cost of elections and consider it an excuse for not having elections on a frequent basis, but the fact of the matter is that given the way that governments spend, having elections more often would probably save money since it would keep governments from thinking that they can spend with impunity since they won't have to face voters anytime soon. I'm always up for an election; they should happen every 1.5 to 2 years.
