  1. No kengs, it is a pathetic personal attack, because you have run out of any intelligent points to make on the topic. You lose!
  2. This is off topic. The thread is about the protest.
  3. Thank you I appreciate the effort to provide information. That was my concern.
  4. You are being served, every Canadian is being served, this mission was approved by our government and at the time the Majority of Canadians...want someone to piont the finger at , then blame them ...soldiers don't get to chose where and whom they shall fight.... Exactly. Army Guy, when we debate about whether the war is accomplishing what it should, it IS the government's judgment we are questioning, not the soldiers. In fact, it is our responsibility as citizens to constantly question whether we have made the right decisions putting soldiers in harm's way.
  5. AHH ... the ubiquitous personal attack that signals you have no legitimate argument against what I said. I will take that as acceptance of the truth of my post, reposted here for those who missed it: This isn't a moral issue but simply a matter of law. We have been fed a version of the law that isn't viable ... isn't true. It is the actions of the Confederacy in insisting on consultation about uses of the land in dispute that follow the law. Actions like blockading the landfill. Now take your personal attack and stick it where the sun don't shine, kiddo!

  7. kengs you are throwing defamatory allegations of criminality around about an entire group of people without a shred of evidence: That is called prejudice. Do what was suggested: Do a comparative study of another community too. Then we will have to take you seriously. Otherwise, you are just putting yourself in the same "zone" as people who simply hate with no good reason. The rate of incarceration of aboriginal people has little to do with their rate of "crime" and a lot to do with systemic racism in Canada, and quite a bit to do with genocide-for-land. They are much more likely to be incarcerated simply for existing than anyone else. They are also much more likely to die in custody than any other race in Canada. Perhaps you could do a study on that! At least that would be educational for people here, instead of just trotting out the same old stereotypes with no evidence.
  8. Oh and btw ... the local and Six Nations protestors were out there again today, and no truck came in. The owner is making himself scarce, and the media hasn't clued in to this story at all.
  9. Agreed, posit. As for "anyone who wants to tear Canada apart" ... that would be Canada's fault and responsibility. You don't kidnap and murder people's children, steal their land, outlaw their religion and governance, language and culture, denigrate, dismiss and deny them their rights, and then expect them to come sucking up wanting to be 'one of us'. Get real, kengs. You still have your head in those pink clouds of lies that our governments have fed us. This is the REAL history of Canada, and Canada now reaps what it sowed! And the vast majority of Canadians know it. Those who don't are choosing not to see.
  10. It was a bribe. Mulroney was paid off when he was still an MP. The final payment was (conveniently) after he was out of office. It was still a bribe. Read Mulroney's letters to Schreiber telling him how to cover it up, call it something else ... "consulting fees". It was a bribe.
  11. Seems to me Morgan that you are saying that if crime becomes more violent, law must become more violent too. Not sure I agree with that. I remember an alliance yahoo who bleated about stoning and thrashing or was it whipping young offenders. I wrote and asked him whether he would be doing the whipping himself, because he sounded all het up about that! Well, I ask the same of people who believe in the death penalty: Are you planning to be the hired killer? Seems to me that if you are demanding or supporting it, you'd better be willing to carry it out too ... or is that to be pawned off on some poor public servant?
  12. I did respond to that, bill. Go back and read my response and let me know if you have any comments or questions. Basically, though, your timing is off a bit because Friday and today, Six Nations AND local residents have joined forces to successfully shut down the expanded Edwards landfill. The ability of Six Nations to "get along" ... work together ... with the people of Caledonia and the County will depend on the ability of those people to accept that things have changed forever. Unfortunately the Mayor and Council and the County 'movers and shakers' were all primed to rake in millions from SPRAWL development along the Grand River ... on Six Nations' traditional land. They still won't accept that that is not going to happen, and they keep whining for someone to "get them off the site". People like that will never 'get along' with Six Nations, and probably never did anyway, but that is only a small minority of people, and shrinking fast. Especially now that the locals are all happily supporting Six Nations latest 'blockade', and are all happy that the Confederacy has the jurisdiction to do so.
  13. Oleg, you are making this up and it is not true.
  14. http://www.thespec.com/article/281329 Brian Mulroney has declared himself the victim of an extended smear campaign but former political allies weren't quite rushing to his defence Tuesday. In fact, the onetime chief of staff to Mulroney says he's dismayed that his former boss managed to escape questions for so long about details of his business dealings with Karlheinz Schreiber. Norman Spector accuses most media outlets of ignoring - until now - what could be one of the great scandals in Canadian history. He says he was bothered by some of the things he witnessed while working as the top official in Mulroney's office from 1990 to 1992. "(There are) things that in retrospect don't make sense to me," he said in an interview. "Things that I thought were a bit unusual at the time that now trouble me, as a result of stories that have emerged." Mulroney has accused several media organizations of libelling him and of conducting a longstanding vendetta - but Spector notes that the former prime minister has never sued those organizations. Spector is pleased that the story of the $300,000 in cash payments delivered by Schreiber to Mulroney is finally receiving public scrutiny. He says he has spoken out about the issue because, with the Liberal and Conservative scandals of the last few years, Canada's international reputation has suffered. Canada has dropped to 14th place from 5th place in Transparency International's corruption index in just over a decade. "I see this issue as an opportunity to clean up the system. It needs cleaning up," Spector said. I quote this to point out two things: First, what happens inside Canada and what the world thinks of it DOES affect us internally ... economically. Secondly, Norman Spector is indicating clearly that "this issue" is only the tip of the corruption iceberg. I don't see this as an attack on the Conservatives, but just a continuation of the cleansing of corruption in our entire system ... I hope!
  15. Well then just give me your address and we'll send the trucks full of toxic trash to be buried in your back yard! Then we'll see how quickly you change your mind about democratic civil disobedience! The land is in dispute. There should legally be no development (eg expansion of a landfill) on land that is in dispute, without consultation with Six Nations. Consultation did not happen prior to the expansion, so the Six Nations Confederacy is legally halting any further dumping until that consultation occurs, as they have halted development elsewhere. They are doing this with full support and participation of the local residents, because the old dump and the new expansion are both environmental disasters from the getgo.
  16. Oleg, I must say your habit of quoting yourself is a bit disconcerting ... I believe you just called yourself an idiot! Very confusing! And gee, you are painting all Canadians with a very broad brush, when you seem to be talking about only the posters here. I must remind you that this is a 'conservative' board populated mostly by those extremely so ... or extremely young. If you are looking for the kinder gentler Canadians, believe me you generally won't find them here: Here you find the ones who will kick someone when they are down, or roll right over them to get to a meeting faster if there is a buck to be made. These people exist in every country. They are so close to 'white supremacists' in their superior attitude that it is sometimes impossible to make the distinction between that and conservatism. It takes a few posters like me here occasionally to remind them that they are only a narrow and extreme little cell in a much broader and smarter population, most of whom don't spend their time on a discussion board (unless they are retired like me! )
  17. If Harper's career takes a dive for this, won't that be ironic ... baggage from the old PC party killing the 'Reform/Alliance'. Personally I think Harper is already dead, and taking the Conservatives' chances with him. Canadians can see through his manoevering and know he is only flirting with the 'moderate' position until he can get a majority and impose a more extreme regime. People see through it and they don't like being played for fools, nor will they take a chance on unilateral 'rule'. People have seen how he has muzzled their representatives even with a minority government, and they won't take a chance on any further oppression of their democratic rights to representation. Now if Jim Prentice was leader, you would see a better outlook for the Conservatives, I believe.
  18. geoffrey, you are an ignorant little puke. And I mean ignorant in the 'unknowing' sense, and 'puke' in the uncaring sense. It is one thing not to know, and quite another to not care that you don't know. Let's see ... by your rationale 'They can have their land IF they want to live a traditional lifestyle' ... it is none of our business what they do with their own land, anymore than it is their business what we do with ours (assuming we can prove valid title, of course). Get off your friggen high horse that "WE" get to decide. We don't: The law does. By analogy, we can only have OUR land (if we have any) if we live the lives of our ancestors: Heads on pikes anyone? We Euros were good at that back in the day! Of course we downsized to scalps in North America because heads were too hard to transport the longer distances. Traditionally too, our ancestors used the streets as toilets, their wives as punching bags and their kids as slaves. Ordinary working people were ruled by corrupt failed aristocrats (eg, the "Family Compact"). Oh HURRAH FOR 'CIVILIZATION'! No, contrary to popular EuroMyth we did not bring civilization to North America: It was here already and we tried our best to destroy it. Witness, for example, the Edwards Landfill protest, the subject of this thread. 'Western civilization', as the corporatocracy likes to call itself, put a toxic landfill in the crook of a bend of the Grand River, a pathetically loutish and uncivilized thing to do. And now the same 'western civilization', acknowledging that the previous landfill is a leaky, toxic mess, has expanded the landfill to gargantuan size and put in a flimsy little liner. Hooray for civilization. Another environmental disaster in the making. In case we all haven't figured it out yet ... "western civilization" is just the propaganda name for corporate profits at all costs. Nothing civilized about it at all. Just the same old feudal cr.ap. And fortunately, our more civilized Indigenous neighbours have had enough of that and they are putting their foot down. We all stand to benefit from their stewardship of the land and environment, because there is no stewardship in the 'western civilization' theftocracy.
  19. Absolutely! And I vote every town incl Toronto, have to build containers for its own trash and bury it in their own back yard, if they think it's so 'safe' to bury it in someone else's. I couldn't agree more.
  20. I was listening to Cross Country checkup and the issue of the translator came up over and over again. I have heard nothing from the airport authority yet. It is said none was available "at one in the morning" when the RCMP were there. Well, what about the 10 hours before that? No answer. One woman described how she had the same problem with students coming from Japan, having to go through immigration, baggage, all that without being able to help them or maybe even find them. She was able to contact them by phone with help from airport security. Another woman and her husband were planning to have their teenage nieces from Chile come to visit, but now they are afraid to come. They were shocked that officer was not in jail, but still working. Frankly I am surprised if he is still working. One would think a death would warrant some recovery time. Another said, and I wholeheartedly agree, that the coverup and backpeddalling coming from the RCMP brass is the absolute BIGGEST CONCERN. "How can we trust them?" ... over and over. The incident is over, and if the RCMP continues to act guilty, so be it: It is CLEARLY time to raze the house-of-cards that Zacardelli built, imo. ... in order to be fair to every officer who is on the line everyday ... to be fair to ALL of the RCMP officers who put their lives and those of others on the line everyday. Clean out the corruption, the pretense of infallibility, the coverup of incompetence. WHO THE HELL TRAINED THAT OFFICER? HOW? WHAT WERE THE PROPER PROCEDURES? WHAT WERE THEIR ORDERS? WHO GAVE THE ORDERS? And why do Canadian cops use potentially deadly force on unarmed citizens in distress, seen as barbaric by other countries? WHO THE HELL MADE THE RULES? I watched some of the Senate hearings where Zacardelli bold-faced lied, his 2IC threw down his pen and said "See! That's what he does ALL the time. He is not telling the truth! He does that at the office ... constantly ... and now he's doing it here!" I heard Zacardelli say "There are no administrative transfers." and all of the many RCMP officers in the room cracked up, hissed, booed, guffawed ... (called him a liar), clearly and publicly in a Senate investigation. We need to hear more about how this culture is being changed, how the officers morale, respect, etc. is ... all of the things that contribute to competent policing. It is just so Canadian to sweep things under the rug. We gotta get over that and look at ourselves squarely.
  21. I think this argument is pretty old and stale now. Afterall, we know clearly from the research that it doesn't mater whether you are single or couple, same sex or not, daycare or at home parent (who might be a Dad, btw) ... what matters is good parenting and good care, no matter who is doing it: Children who have good care turn out well. Children who have bad care may not. And despite all the hype about single parents, samesex parents, etc, the norm still is very much the two parent male-female family.
  22. That is not true. There were about six homes in the process of being built. ALL but one has now been removed. You don't have a clue about the facts and you are spreading lies and rumours. Get your facts straight. In fact, the Six Nations people have insisted the buildings be removed from the DCE and from the Burtch Tract lands, to be transferred as soon as the government complies. No, the developer came to consult with the Confederacy. I assume they have a business deal. Wild Bill, opinions based on untruth can be dangerous. Please try to verify your facts as these are all wrong. You are using these incorrect facts to insult a group of people you know absolutely nothing about, and that is just plain rude.
  23. I think if I was a cop, I would want to find a translator before doing anything. It is unbelievable that one was not provided in the 10 hours he waited in the airport!!
  24. I read the crime reports from that area. The vast majority are not from Six Nations. You had to dredge 6 years back to get a few. There are that many every week in the county. You are making it up. You have no credible evidence. Are you a white nationalist? Certainly your views fit the pattern. Why don't you check out Stormfront and see if you like the fit.
