  1. Bubber, why continue to flog a dead horse. Accept that there is evidence that Trudeau acted inappropriately toward a young female reporter. She has recently publicly confirmed the incident did take place but does not want to pursue the matter further for personal reasons. That's fine. What's at issue now is Trudeau's hypocrisy as a self described feminist, declaring zero tolerance for sexual misconduct and the iron fist he showed Liberal MPs who faced related allegations. He thinks he's above that level of punishment. He's shallow and a hypocrite and that will be his undoing.

  2. Oh boy. Rempel rises up to the challenge.

Michelle Rempel, the federal Conservatives’ immigration critic, tweeted her support for MacLeod, and slammed Hussen’s “disgusting” behaviour.

“He is a bully, who tries to shut down scrutiny of Trudeau’s failure to address the illegal border crossing crisis with name-calling, insults, and condescension. This is no way to build a compassionate immigration system,” Rempel wrote.

Normally, it is Liberals who call Conservatives bullies.

Yes, it would seem that Ahmed Hussen's big mouth could be a big political liability for election season.

Indeed. He also brought negative press to the Liberals by attending an event in a known criminal establishment.

Trudeau's puppet masters must be mortified.

  4. Hussen is biting off more than he can chew. Now, he's got 2 feisty politicians taking him to task. Conservative MP Michelle Rempel and MPP Lisa MacLeod are going at him. If he thinks he's got the upper hand here, he is mistaken.

Ontario’s minister responsible for immigration has demanded an apology from federal Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen for saying the province is promoting fear about asylum seekers.

“Maybe the minister should sit down and have a nice cup of tea, calm down a little bit and maybe phone me and apologize for calling me unCanadian,” Lisa MacLeod said Friday.

Federal, provincial and territorial ministers were meeting in Winnipeg to discuss immigration issues when Hussen was asked about Ontario Premier Doug Ford demanding that federal government pay millions to provide supports for asylum seekers.

Ford has said the federal government is ushering people across the border and asylum seekers, whom he calls “illegal border crossers,” have caused a housing crisis in Ontario.

Hussen said the new premier’s messaging is irresponsible.

“It’s divisive. It’s fear-mongering and it’s not Canadian. It’s very dangerous,” Hussen said.

“Ontario sadly has chosen the language of fear. They’ve chosen to intentionally use language that could potentially criminalize asylum seekers in the minds of Canadians.”

MacLeod said she thought the minister was acting mean-spirited towards her personally.

“His answer was directed at me to try and intimidate me,” she said. “And I will not be intimidated.”

    ---

Conservative immigration critic Michelle Rempel accused Hussen of denigrating rhetoric and name-calling. The federal Conservatives have called for an emergency meeting of the citizenship and immigration committee.

Very dangerous applies more to the Liberal plan for dealing with the illegal migrants debacle which is of their doing.

"In future, we have to monitor the entrance and exit to the cave. This cave has become world famous … we have to install more lights inside the cave and put up signs," Prayuth told reporters in Bangkok.

"It's a dangerous cave," said Prayuth, adding that the cave would be closed to the public for a while until "everything is in order". He did not elaborate.

Last week, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said it planned to promote the Tham Luang cave as a tourist attraction after it featured so prominently in the news.

My gut tells me we have not heard the end of this cave. And, if you want to visit the cave, it will cost you handsomely.

  6. You know Trudeau's in deep doodoo when the CBC turns on him.

This is about hypocrisy — not about what did or did not happen at a music festival 18 years ago.

The prime minister is now experiencing first-hand how a one-size-fits all approach to dealing with accusations of sexual misconduct is extremely fraught. But instead of conceding that admission, he is simply changing the standard to a one-size-fits-most: Everyone except the prime minister. That's the issue. It's the hypocrisy, not the act.
