A possible solution would be to place a link at the close of the old, unmerged version of the thread to the combined thread. On balance, I think merging is good. There was one poster who used to start about three (3) "Stephen Harper" threads a day, by my count. But what's the point? If I had a perfectly good thread trundling along and all of a sudden and entirely different thread got stuck on the end, I'd be pissed. On one of two occasions, I've seen someone open a thread identical to another thread, and in those cases I can see why they should be merged. Well, you just never know what the future will bring. One thing is absolutely certain: Walmart is not run by idiots and if they are selling something with as much potential for controversy as this, there must be a substantial market out there. I'm not a practicing Christian and hardly even a nominal Christian, but I'd adopt a crusader's cross if only to make a statement about the current assault on the west by those who think we're weak.
