  1. Very gracious of you. Most people don't admit when they're wrong. I would, always, except that I'm never wrong.
  2. I doubt that's true, but I don't have the time nor inclination to look it up.
  3. What exactly is your problem? Canada was a colony of Britain in 1834. It had no autonomy. Britain abolished slavery in 1834, and because Canada was a colony, that means it was abolished in Canada in 1834, before Canada gained autonomy, by virtue of its abolishment in Britain. What's so hard to understand about that? It's both A and B. They are not mutually exclusive in any way.
  4. Where exactly did that come from?
  5. The "World Court" is a farce. It has nothing to do with "the world" and even less to do with a court of law. It has everything to do with polical maneuvreing. Now you can thank me for that bit of education too!
  6. If the information is in the public domain, there is implied consent. Look it up. You don't even have to; you admitted as much yourself. The privacy act covers the release of information, not its subsequent uses. You're flogging a dead pony here.
  7. Well, let's get past the "victimless crime" meme. I would say a good many of the druggies doing hard time plea bargained themselves out of far worse things. Or, alternatively, they are drug dealers, including those selling to kids. You make it sound as if everyone got caught smoking a joint while singing Kumbaya, and that's obviously not the case. I strongly suspect the vast majority are not innocent victims who just managed to have the bad luck to be persecuted by "the man."
  8. If you're as much a pundit as you seem, you know very well that at this stage it's momentum and upside that counts. The Cons have no real downside, and dion is standing at the edge of a cliff with a heavy wind at his back. Certainly nothing is definite yet and things can change quickly, but it sure ain't looking good for the Libs.
  9. Oh, pardon me, I should have addressed that to Momo. I wasn't talking to you. I didn't even read whatever you wrote.
  10. When it's not used as a noun, yes.
  11. That's hilarious!
  12. Speaking of looking intentional and suspensions, I won the silver star in English class for bravely throwing myself in front of a comrade in arms... *scene shimmers and fades out to a 7th grade class many years ago in AHS, Mexico City* ...the tables are arranged in a circle in keeping with the more inclusive style of early 70s class organization, coincidently giving each member of the class a clean shot at every other student. Books are set up on every desk as shields, pockmarked with evidence of past firefights, and the constant quiet whistle of flying paperclips and the thwump of spitball mortars fills the air, punctuated by an occasional loud thwaaaack as a paperclip imbeds in a shield across the room, giving the scene an eeriness made even stranger by the fact that a great fat substitutte teacher strides through the middle of the warzone reading obliviously to the class. Imelda, a really hot babe who doesn't speak much English, but whose eyes do the talking for her, glances at me in a way I hope is lovingly, and draws back her rubber band, jokingly aiming it at the substitute teacher's giant targ. I start to smile, she starts to smile, her fingers slip, a thunderclap of steel impacting lard roars through the class, the teacher leaps in the air, Imelda bursts into tears, I burst into laughter, and away I go to the office and thence home, knowing I bravely threw myself in front of Imelda's sexy eyes.
  13. 'Funny' is the operant.
  14. What is a Bliar? What is the purpose of this silly thread?
  15. The seakings are used only in emergencies, to plummet sweep down on top of unsuspecting list members.
  16. You'll find that the tide is shifting on this issue in a big way, having more to do with demographics than a morality issue. The pig has pretty much passed the baby making stage of the python by now, the feminist movement has descended into surrealism and become a laughing stock, and both women and men all across the west are taking a hard look back at a real dearth of replacement babies. The rhetoric of Roe v Wade is as much a memory as burning bras and bell bottoms. Couple that to the fact that few are going to vote on this single issue alone, and I don't think it's as damaging as you think. It may even surprise you and be a bonus for them.
  17. Good Grief Shavluk, I suggest you sort out yourself and get a bit of education as to how provincial and federal politics work before you saunter into Ottawa with a broadsword to clean things up. You're in North Delta allegedly running for federal office...what in the world are you doing ranting about a provincial party in another province? Tell me, do you think the Liberal Party in BC and the Liberal party in Ottawa are the same thing?
  18. I bet your IP number is al Queda headquarters, since almost the entire post is completely made up. Do they actually pay you for this kind of low quality agitprop?
  19. Why would I want to rephrase it? Is it hard to understand? When did Canada get autonomy again? When was slavery abolished? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_in_CanadaYou should probably learn to walk away when you're ahead, before you get trounced. This stuff is common knowledge. Basic history, a la grade 12.
  20. Actually, no. I thought you did though, what with trying to raise a lynch mob to string me up. That seems to have fallen flat on its face, though. Oh well, keep your finger jammed on the report button, maybe some day...
  21. Very cool. I can almost hear the roar of the crowd now. You should get pretty much every vote between the ages of 14 and 17. But why aren't you actually listed as a candidate?
  22. You debate whatever you want Higgy, but don't run around telling others what to do in the forum, ok? I know you want to direct everything and report everyone you don't like, but why don't you just worry about you and leave other people alone?
  23. I'll pick Gaza too, but can I wear the bedsheet? I'd blend right in.
  24. Anyone who claims a corporation has a distinct personality, but that all corporations have the same personality is a psychopath.
  25. Well maybe they ought to stop using drugs if they don't want to be in jail. What do you think?
