Pretty odd for a Democrat... Education, global health and global development aren't leftist causes. The only difference between the left and the right on the latter two issues is where the money should come from. People on the right would favour that moeny coming from private philanthropy, like the Gates Foundation...

Yes, that is one key to that poll. Another is that magical 40% mark for winning a majority probably won't be the threshold if the Greens stay a strong as they are and their support is national rather than regionally centered.

The Conservative party has never polled within the margin of error of the Liberals for more than two consecutive polls since they have been formed. Sad, sad Liberals still trying to use the scary Reform name, coupled with the inaccurate GW Bush comparison. You aren't in government right now because you couldn't think outside that box. Try electing a leader with real, practical policies that will help people instead of scaring people. Stephen Harper has been Prime Minister for almost 14 months. Persuadable voters are moving towards his party because they see what a sham the scare mongering is.

Even that can be carried to the extreme. *cough* *cough* Paul Martin, aka, the most unsuccessful Liberal leader to date. When Harper wins a majority this spring and Dion is forced to resign it will be interesting to see who is judged more harshly ... Dion or Martin.
