  1. I thought his protest should be confined to the fake lake as opposed to the real and seedy parks he derides. One area is real, and the other is fantasy.
  2. CRAP!!! I never thought of that. I am betting with you.
  3. We can test that theory. Has a picture of your face broken any lenses or cameras? I am wondering where you got the "very low" from. I think its zero.. but it may be "very low" I could be wrong. I can't use my picture to test out the theory... I know your posts crack me up... I could only imagine a picture...
  4. I thought this is a fair amount of time. Mr.Canada wants to Protest the Pride Parade. I thought I might define a space for him and his 5 ( make it 15 minutes) of fame.
  5. Your funny.. Thanks for the entertainment. Welfare in its delivery is Provincial and not to be confused with the "welfare state". Every Province in Canada has Welfare and will continue to have welfare, be it the old Right Wing Social Credit or the Left Wing CCF or the Right Wing BC Liberals, the Right Wing Harris Conservatives, the Centre Right Ontario LIberals of McGuinty, any ALberta Government, Any Sask government and government and these are in General CONSERVATIVE and LIBERAL governments including the SASK party, because the Province would be far worse without it. And if that wasn't true it would have been eliminated decades ago. Welfare is NOT popular. Welfare is NOT a vote getter. The Majority of the population dislike the idea of Welfare. And the Majority of those how vote are those working and in middle and upper middleclass families. So, if you take a % of the population, stereotyped in the manner you have described, which may be supported by your anecdotal, then we wouldn't have it. The reason we do have it is because your post is bullshit. You may not like it, but I can point to a person I deal with who travels the globe today doing mergers and aquistions for a swiss firm based out of the US. She travels to India and China and helps purchase major CDN resources and companies. These actions have been one of the many factors to help move people from the Employment line to the Unemployment line. WHile she, her sister and most of her family all broke out of the welfare trap, there is little argument that it put food on the table and a roof over their heads. That horrible cradle to grave welfare state, put them through school, College and University. It helped pave their path for Economics and Law. Unfortuneately today, she would likely say the same thing as you, as she never had the courage when she made it to the Bay Street, Wall street and California to stand up to those who would bash people who come from a home of little means. Nice to have people like you shitting on others. But I also have personal anectdotal evidence and I can tell you it those people who lost their businesses and had to use welfare because their is no EI are greatful today that it is there and they will rebound. You just keep fretting about a pack of smokes while Billions are being bled from us. Continue to call people Lazy while wealthy people who have all the potential to be much lazier and complain all the way to the bank. Laziness and income are not the same. If you didn't have welfare to bash it would be like the other thread where a person is taking potshots on the working poor. Its easy to pick on the weak. Its much harder to get them out of where they are, but they will leave the system. It takes time, but it will happen. The costs of removing it outweigh the benefits, or it would have been quashed long ago as it has no political support from the general public.
  6. Dang that National post and its one sided opinion LOL. I think you have a great idea and there should be a story because what you have described is real and happens. It is no less of a story then a 17 year old girl drawing on the sidewalk and taking a club to the head. The Police are put in a very difficult situation. A no win situation, and they do their jobs as best they can under the circumstances. Things have progressed and luckily its not as bad as the past when peaceful protests could lead to 4 dead in ohio.....
  7. You might need a history lesson. The Social Welfare state started back in the 1800s and is responsible for creating the middleclass from which most of our society benefits. The welfare state will continue to exist in some form however the trend since the 1990s Federal was for the LIBERALS to clawback on the welfare state and services provided while maintaining a higher level of taxation. The method of paying has changed. From Income to Service taxes and this is the role the Conservatives brought in prior with the implementation of the GST and now the HST in BC and Ontario. The Taxation will continue and monies will be doled out, but to whom it goes is different today then 30 years ago. Taxation to provided services to the public is the reason for Taxation. However long before the strength of the welfare state was a centre piece of Canadian Society, those taxes collected came from the poor and middle incomes who at one time didn't even have the right to vote, while their monies was given to wealthy corporations run by wealthy people who didn't have to pay taxes. Such was the good ole days. The creation of the middle class changed Canadian Society and all industrialized nations that adopted it, grew in strength and wealth and better societies while those other nations never grew out of 3rd world status and remain so today. The frittering away at Canadian Society is eroding the middleclass and thus taxation must be shifted to the lower middleclass and the burden and hardships of taxation removed from those who could afford to pay. I am sure you hate this welfare state. But there is always one fool who doesn't realize the benefits of being born in this country and his mom not having to go into debt for such a joyous occasion. If you wish to enjoy a capitalist society with no social safetynet, there are always countries like Haiti to go to.
  8. If you believe yourself correct why did you reply in similar fashion?
  9. I'd normally associate that with the Big Business Conservatives. Fat Cats at the table. Harper doesn't throw money at things, he throws money away.
  10. Your thoughts!!! Are we going to the polls? Conservatives are making calls asking people to take election signs in the fall. Are they going to go for it or not?
  11. Mr. Canada threads aren't to be taken seriously. They are funny though. And I always thought it was a cranky 70 year old engaging in self amusement. Sure the posts are looney, but sometimes we need that humour.
  12. Treason is for those selling out their countries. Your logic suggests the BLUE AND RED SCUM should be tried for treason. Your comments failed to address Communist China.
  13. LOL, The Liberals provided a decade of budget surpluses. The Conservatives frittered those surpluses and then campaign from cloud 9 in September of 08. These goofs are as disconnected as anyone else. Don't go blaming the Canadian public for Corporate handouts. Who was that singing as that Gala Ball. Wasn't that "Stephen Harper" getting high with his friends....
  14. ??? You forgot to limit protests to under 5 minutes.
  15. The G8 and G 20 Idolize China. No mention was made of their trade imbalance or their financial manipulation of their currency required to maintain this trade imbalance. The USSR is unlikely to have any kind of support amongst protestors however the other half of the USSR , now known as RUSSIA is also sitting comfortably at the G8 and G20. Che is from Argentina. He grew up in police states and died in a foreign police state. Maybe the only comment you got correct. Che is idolized by many including brilliant capitalistic marketing firms that use his image to sell Motorcycles and Motorcycle accessories in the US and worldwide. Probably more popular today then in the 60s when he was killed.
  16. Hey Federal Servant. Are you on the Clock using the internet again??
  17. Better you read what you post... The Poll states that when people see the costs of the G20/G8 their opinion reverses For those who don't know the cost, yes is an easy answer. When they do know the cost, support becomes difficult to obtain. Of course I am sure you already know that you were trying to snow us with that poll the same way paid polster snowed the media with its timely release and questionable outcome.
  18. And you wonder why the Conservatives are going to lose the blue collar vote LOL. Blue Collar wages are falling from the $40,000 -$60,000 range to the $20,000 to $40,000 range. CEO salaries have increased during the recession from an Average of $350,000 to an average of $800,000. Its been tough on those CEOs. Stand up for them. They need your support and ours. Government handouts are required to help them make it, but I know its coming and they will be able to protect those Mercedes, Mazorotties, and why I am not certain, Jaguar, but they will make it through these tough times. With your help.
  19. Your posts are so funny you crack me up. And you said you were leaving the forum sometime ago. Some of the wealthiest people have an education and come from working class Families who worked and struggled for a better life for their kids. Seems though they might have raised you, which is a shame, based on your attitude of Privilege and entitlement. Many of the Wealthiest people I know, who did it on their own without being a corporate Pirate with an MBA in mergers and aquistions, actually built companies from the ground up and could do all this working class tasks and trades that kept their companies afloat and profitable. There is plenty of education out there. Some of those people never finished high school. Trillions of dollars in business is done over the phone & internet every single day of your life. This is the 21st Century not the late 1800s. And apparently you don't either.
  20. Seems they blew it .... What a waste of money. This is going down in G20 circles as the event not to be repeated. Countries cannot afford nor will their constiuents put up with such waste. If anything, Canada might have made a good case for Disbanding the G8 and G20 meetings as so little was done for so much expense and the nonsense it brings with it. From Fake Lakes and Phoney Stock Exchanges... Seems they couldn't find a real TSE in Toronto, to fringe anarchist groups stealing the thunder of the media. Waste of time and money and a complete lack of common sense on all those who participated this weekend.
  21. Sounds like the people who came in for the G8 and G20 then hung out for all the freebies funded by us. The taxpayers. Yes
  22. Argus. You still surfing on the taxpayers tab??? Keep reading about Federal Public Servants spending hours and hours on the internet and not doing your jobs.
  23. You August1991 are boxed into a corner. I will bet you will vote Conservative in the next election and the Conservatives are betting on it too. Eat it and weep.
  24. Once again, more money wasted!
