  1. No I'm disgusted by the corruptions of the partisan system in Canada. This is about party abuses no independent difficulties. You want civility why not start with fairness, openness and equal access. When you have a majority corruptly attacking minorities there is no room for minority civility. Civility comes from respect not disrespect and insult. Based on the charter individuals should have equal access to public office. The party subsidies and benefits are just a corruption, representative of the malignancy, selfinterest and greed of people in Ottawa. You can't expect an honours system to work with those sorts of people, or powers of censorship to be used fairly and with good reason. It is just another avenue of abuse and corruption for the diabolics. SHAME!
  2. Uhm should have been at work. How many days are the government Mps at work. You know they have all agreed just to take sitting days and schedules. They don't all show up and work every day like normal people. Unfortuntely MP's don't have to show up. It is not part of their job description. When they show up is their choice (part of the problem is not having enough seats for every MP) Also one can work while away from ones riding or the hill. Oversights. None the less show me where it shows how an MP is suppose to do their job, all I've seen is not to make expense claims they arn't allowed. Was the hill in session, was it scheduled? Was he scheduled to sit at that time by the party whip? Nonsense but this is all part of how government is run under partisan systems. How many days has Stephen Harper showed up? Vs. Trudeau? What 30 days a year?
  3. Ok what do they do that CBP, which should also be rolled into emergency service security, isn't suppose to do? Also now that Canada is a protectorate of the US under the security perimiter stuff what role isn't being accounted for? Then pay for a professional life gaurd, anyone on a boat should trained to fish someone out of water. First aid should be started to be taught in elementary school, and all Canadians should have adequate marine first aid skills by the time they are out on a boat. Having first aid cert should be prerequisite to being a commanding officer. Likewise coast guard training could be rolled into ocean going craft operation for all ships crew. As far as preserving the social ethos before preserving life is pretty straightforward the composition of society is more important than keeping people alive, yes kill people who are attacking society. If you have someone with a gun who is going to kill you or rape someone blowing their head off is a legitimate response, if the furtherance of the threat or intent of commission of an offence is not able to reasonably be prevented otherwise. I agree though taxes should be reduced, and the personal income taxes completely removed after the debt is paid off. Government services should be paid for, while core services should be there at base. Government protective services does include protecting society, but also government function. However, people who go out on boats should have their own means of survival and rescue. You shouldn't be out on a boat without adequate safety gear.Golden rule is if you can't swim to shore, you need a way of boating to shore. If you don't have a lifeboat and you can't swim to shore you are too far out. If you go out on the water, you can loose your boat. Don't go out further than your marine radio can reach to call for commercial boat repair services. Tow services are incredibly high, and almost pay for themselves up in remote areas without a CAA membership. I'm NOT saying you have to personally own everything but paying directly to a private service is 99% of the time more cost effective and with "help cooperatives" you are going to save money by paying the service rather than the government bureaucracy that won't even take your service needs into consideration when making choices, such as operating a support station. Having your own home security, your own personal security, your own fire safety equipment etc.. yes you should provide it. Don't depend on the government for anything they will fail you. Be Prepared! (and no doubt insurance companies would bill you for the services as not having any customers aint good for them, they'd have their own fire services and it would be your home insurance not your property taxes.) What is better paying for city police or a home security system with security officer responders like AD&T? What protects your home more when you are away or at work? My guess is police will be there to take a report for insurance purposes, home security and video, and an urban tracking system, eye in the sky via a private balloon that can track criminals will go a lot further in finding the guy and preventing the crime. The police don't do all this stuff https://www.adt.ca/en/home-security/solutions/monitoring and now only 100$ for an install, how much does your city police force cost you? You are effectively just subsidizing business and government costs by paying for police forces, they do little to protect individuals before a crime is committed, because they arn't community based, they are patrollers. The existence of police actually makes people less likely to directly intervene, in a timely fashion to prevent an offence. Instead they call police allowing offences to continue for minutes or longer. If people knew it was them or no one many situations would be responded to that otherwise would be allowed to continue. \ The problem is the corrupt government people don't want assertive people who respond to problems. So there are inadequate protections and training for people. Open public self organized militias would help greatly in reducing this problem. Police services arn't gearing themselves to protect people, they are gearing themselves to attack and arrest people. Especially, visible threats. There are almost no CCTV systems or balloon camera systems that can monitor neighbourhoods via heat source and computer tracking systems. These are not expensive systems (before the 60000% markup because they are being sold to a public service that can gouge the public for funding)
  4. I'm waiting for the office of expressive freedoms, and office of peaceful assembly freedoms, and office of assocation freedoms, also what happened to belief and opinion...
  5. Apparently not. Bottom line here is it is best to have the eggs in the basket rather than getting someone to cook them for you. The poor don't have nothing to protect anyway. Your view is saying intelligent people create chaos, quite the contrary, inept incapable stooges and sheep create chaos cause they don't know how to take care of themselves. Example - don't go pleasure boating when the water is so cold you die of hypothermia in minutes. ------ No actually firefighters let property burn if their safety is at risk, think again. It is really unfortunate for sure the bottom line here is, people shouldn't have to give their money to someone else to take a percentage, and then pay people to deliver a service. People should be able to choose what services they want, not be forced to pay for other peoples services, like lifeguards for when they go out in bad conditions on the high seas. Its deplorable people not near oceans are subsidizing your luxury and extravagance pay for your own hobby lifeguard. There should be CBA's for that stuff "Canadian Boater Association" Pay for the service, save on the taxes. If you host on your boat that is probably even tax deductible.
  6. I think this is a good start, but I think that the general public may be willing to pay for the service. so yes fire departments should be self funded services. LIkwise people should be interested in their own homes fire safety, and protecting their own homes, or even becoming volunteer firefighters, or having neighborhood watch. Investing in neighborhood fire hoses and low cost fire protection equipment that can be kept in a community shed. The problem is using the government as a middle man which adds unneeded middle layers for paper pushers to eat up money and waste time and centralized local services. With robotics this becomes even less needed as local neighbour hood drones can be employed for fire protection and rescue roles including flying drones. these are just the tip FIre fighters should be roled into a consolidated emergency service also. The more government services you get the more bloat, first you need to cut the fat, go to core services, and self fund to the furthest extent those core services. Keep the money out of the hands of bureaucrats and put it direct to those services. Not base tax rate we spend where we want, but rather, we raise funds for where it needs to go and you are billed specifically for that service.\ ps if you have a fire at your home, if you can't put it out yourself kiss your home good buy, firefighters will mostly just stop the spread of the fire to other homes... and at the least you will likely suffer massive damage. Having the ability to quickly put out your own fire and know how is the base of where you should be at for saving your home from fire. Having ropes and/or latter availability is another important thing if you arn't on the first or second floor. What you pay for fire service in a year for the paper pushing is probably more than the cost of those materials. over the lifetime of your home you could probably have your own sprinkler system which is very affordable to install in piping in homes.
  7. No, not at all, but I don't think we should all pay for a law that should instead be based on us all having equal access to execute it without a requirement for payment. I don't think it would happen that way. Some people would some people wouldn't look at the states militias for example. I think having a responsible public is more important that child proofing everything. No a captain is authorized to use force if required. None the less, the key is having a capable intelligent public not an incapable braindead public who depends on the government for everything. Likewise I'd rather have access to law than being subject to it. Government help programs should be aimed at capacitating not making up for deficiencies in public capacity and leaving them that way.
  8. Safety starts at home. Play safe. No I don't think it is up to the government to protect people it is a service for them to do so. People should protect themselves, first. Having access to a cop is just an advantage. Lots of people in remote areas, including the ocean are their own officers. As a captain of a craft you are responsible for your souls. Resources are limited, rescue at sea is not a given. Urban areas have quick response times, how many people own boats? Sure priorities could be better, but rule of the sea is to lend aid to your fellow sea people in distress. If you don't have a sturdy craft or the seas are bad don't endanger yourself Have a plan and boat in packs. These are common sense rules. Wear boyant stuff like a wetsuit, or drysuit while at sea, and have an emergency plan. emergency radio beacons or other systems. Don't stray far from shore if you can't swim that far in the water conditions. Law and Order is what is important people die, this preserve life kick is secondary to the provide an ideal society, which is the #1 priority not save life. People die and are killed at times for good reasons such as protecting the social ethos. If saving life was #1 fast food and other bad for you junk food would be banned, guns would be illegal as would sharp objects in general, people wouldn't be able to drive cars over 20km/h and we would have neighbour hood health status kiosks. Its not about how long you live but the protection of your life, liberty and happiness. The government is not suppose to provide this for you, but should make it available for you to secure it on your own. The safeguards should be there but this means insuring an order and law that insures the capability of all people based on the protection of the equal rights and freedoms.
  9. I agree. There needs to be more cuts, and the government is just playing with money not addressing the issue of slashing the debt. I think they are anything but a command economy mind, and they are basically just a mechanism to convert public funds to the private sector. They are just managing a malignant system. That is 40% of all GDP is just being converted to slush funds to fuel partisan interests. Just another from of embezzlement, this is why we need to get rid of income taxes and make government fiscally responsible by only providing core services, and charging for the rest based on demand. The first mistake is expecting the government to provide for you. This is why equal rights and protections are so important. Only the destitute should be protected and given work, aside from core support services. Government needs to be dumbed down it is full of unneeded bureaucracy that is just a make work project for professional paper pushers that are better suited to the inefficient corporate sector..that makes up for the inefficiency by charging a 600% markup on their goods that are protected corporate monopolies due to IP protections. The public shouldn't be forced to pay a 600% markup plus interest to pay for government emulation of a failed economic system in terms of the bang for the buck delivered on tax dollars collected from your pocket.
  10. Well, I think what is absent is who made the call, I'm not aware of Mr. Clement being a boater, or what his basis would be for doing this? Could the coast guard have decided this based on a strategic review? You know save 10%, well... where is the best place to do this. I do think that self organization is the answer on this one. Why don't you organize local plebs (no offense intended.) to have "rescue" capability. IMO though once it gets cold, moving the small boats to the lakes and rivers BC has seems prudent. Boating in the fall and winter seems risky. I'm not sure who there is. THE DEFICIT NEEDS TO BE SLASHED, the debt needs to be paid down. I would say to the boaters organize your own rescue We can't depend on the government for anything. Organize it as a business and claim cost write offs rather than out of pocket, then its still being paid for. There are really cheap cmos telescoping sensors that can be rigged up for an emergency detection array. Heck even a self piloting rescue craft could be rigged up. Even one that is supercaviated for super fast rescue (including from an electromagentic cannon for really fast launch) for subsurface rescue then surfacing for retreival, a self rescue pod could be made less than the operating cost of the station, actually a bunch could. Alll aquadrone no need for much staffing costs or boats. Even electronic craft, no gas etc.. An alternate design may be an EM catapult "skipper rescue craft" that is launched out into sea and skips on the ocean. Robotic arms and other attachments like launched netting can scoop people up quite quickly. Dryer air systems, etc... it just is thinking old here. If people can organize life guards why not boat guards? If community watch, why not sea watch/ Do not trust the government, do not depend on the government. *golden rule*
  11. That is a whole different bag of Charlie. You should start a thread... An absence of notice does suck, but did they know it was closing in advance, if so were there national security concerns on it?
  12. Since rescue will probably be by helicopter anyway, 40km isn't that much. People should realize they capsize in the ocean they are probably dead if they don't have a lifeboat. A helicopter flying at 200km/h though works out to about10minutes additional reponse time? How many people have died? Out there? How many people have survived due to that station? If there is such a demand why don't local marinas pick up the emergency. In a high traffic area, there should be boats available to respond to a pan or sos. The coast guard should be rolled into the CF and RCMP anyway. that is a public security and emergency service agency. Never exceed speeds on the comorants are 309 km/h Although in reality even if staff arn't there they could still base a team there. If required. The facilities that is infrastructure is still there, so it can still be used, it just won't be maintained. Ultimately this will likely be a sell off but conditions of sale should be that there are boats or helicopters operating there that can respond in event of an emergency call going out. This is why private militias should be supported, because they can both fill a public need and infrastructure doesn't go to solely private interests. Obviously though something needs to be in place to field those 1 call a day needs. that is what $2000/day / call? what is that like $100 extra per year on marina fees to cover a SAR facility? Are boaters and shippers willing to put up an extra $100 on port and marina fees a year to cover a coast gaurd station that is next to like a yatch club and a marina? an emergency call is suppose to be answered by everyone ... not just the coast gaurd.. the location is nonsense. There are also ferry services operating. Due to the density of traffic I would think a boat would be available to lend aid. I think that for a private / public rescue service to raise funds from those people who use the service is much wiser in terms of peoples needs such as marinas using it and claiming the write off as a business expense. Or port operators writting it down as a shipping service. I strongly believe private individuals should insure their own safety. The government should be there to maintain order and lawfulness. The government needs to operate merchant marine service on ships that can be modified for military use if required. But the merchant part means that they should be maintained from service fees, such as subscription charges. Covered by port fees, and facilities access. Example turning the station into a "rental marina" with people having access to showers, washroom, internet, etc... as well as limiting on shore boarding and other such goods, while a staff person and ski or other equipment could still be kept on site. This shouldn't be about eliminating costs, it should be about leveraging infrastructure to generate government income from sources other than taxes, while maintaining the ability to perform support roles in event of emergency. Yes this is right up there with operating police jails and closed bases as day rental shelters and camp grounds.
  13. First off, no the payoffs are to put money in their pockets and their supporters pockets, not "level the playing field" they were the ones who have removed a level paying field by requiring private auditors even for non spending campaigns, as well as requiring "participation fees" to run in an election, making the cost of running in an election at base a few thousand dollars. This is not to enable the poor access to democratic process and enfranchisement or "level a playing field" it is about putting the process out of reach and turning it into a pay for play. Then the parties give themselves deductions on their fees, but not giving the same benefits to independents. Basically they made a fee, then gave their parties write offs for those fees, while leaving Joe Blow out in the cold to pay the entire fee without cost recovery. Or we could go to a point where everyone has a vote, and representatives don't get paid by the public, nor do we pay their parties to exist. Civility in the house isn't about partisanship it is about destruction of the partisanship and turning politicians into Canadians and humans. Those are the grounds to which we can all get along. They are just trying to remove the humanism from process so people won't reject what they stand for. Censorship in parliament due to cultural considerations is contrary to a free society that can freely express. The only type of speech that should be limited is that speech which is illegal in Canada, and not a violation of the constitution..
  14. I think the budget this thursday/throne speech will pass, I have mixed feelings on this 1. Cost of an election is wasteful 2. I think it could go Tory, and the NDP probably don't want that even if they pick up a seat or two. 3. If the Tories don't win the game will be the same but if the liberals take one more seat they have a majority None the less, the more I see the government they appear as a pretty soft and easy group, and they engage, but they more and more appear more talk and less action. I think the government they are suppose to run is just totally corrupt though, I personally don't have confidence in the government, but I always have the sense is there some other option that won't be worse? Of course there is also the whole, an appointed premier by the party isn't a leader who was elected to be premier. but in my head it doesn't play out that way. Interaction with the government didn't appear to be publically centralized anyway. It was a very departmentalized government. Although I do think it is corrupt I'm not sure the PC would be any less corrupt if they were in. The scariest part is, at the public will hundreds of millions of dollars has just disappeared more or less, that is never good. The government is corrupt but it could be worse. The cabinet has thinned out a bit to say the least. This ins't the same public band as it was 5 years ago though. then of course you have this.. http://www.oyetimes.com/news/canada/36576-polls-show-increase-in-ontario-liberals-support-since-wynne-s-victory they have been teflon.. If I was Tory I'd kill it, if I was NDP I would be reluctant to have a Tory government in place of a liberal government that give in to some of their pleas, especially a Tory majority.... I always feel like the Tories are out of touch, as such I can never feel confident with them, the liberals are corrupt (or illicit a corrupt government through non management) and the NDP always appears as labour to me, which also isn't my cup. There is just no party committed to public service and public well being without partisan self gain as the golden rule. I think I should know soon what type of government Wynne is behind.
  15. Teachers already have pretty good salaries, I think they should just regionally lock in their fair wage with the cost of living index and be done with it. I think that all public servants should get the same wage though (which includes military police, service canada, postal workers, etc..) (this should be based on hours working / hours on call) and danger pay (including occupational health dangers indexing) consideration. any pay ontop of the base pay itself should come from the board itself.
  16. Well first off, just pulling the plug is never the answer, overnight revolution is dangerous, and can cause instability. The key is to migrate to autarkism this means producing what we need. Canada has tons of resources, we really don't need to import anything. Although, as stated this is about growing resources. The problem is we get say 50% of our revenue from Oil, we then see 30% of that consume people who then do not produce goods that Canadians need. Since we loose our ability to create our own goods, we become dependent on oil revenue to meet our needs, and we become "unable to provide for ourselves" A responsible government would set policy to insure we provide for ourselves, and allocate any revenue from exported goods for infrastructure programs that provide for self provisioning. This simply isn't the case. Instead our infrastructure is sold off for monetary injections, which are soon spent, on paying off loans that were financially inprudent to take on in the first place. Canada has a long way to go but oil dependence is not the path to lasting freedom. This goes hand in hand with the IP issue, IP laws need to be rejected. A compromise may be 1 or 2 year exclusive use allowance, but in todays world we can't BS around progress, we don't have the time.
  17. Muddy you see, when people MAKE money they pay taxes. I'm sure as a "public servant" that is an MP, he probably does take money from the tax payers but that is only due to corruption within the parliament act which parliamentarians gave themselves income from the general revenue fund rather than funds that parliament raised itself through enterprise. He however is no different from any other MP in that respect. (I have to add though that they did this before he was in office) Now what he is doing in taking speaking fees, is getting paid money, from the institutions. now institutions such as universities do not get "all" their money from the government, some comes from alumni, others comes from patents, or other revenue streams, in the us for instance college sports generates revenue for some schools. None the less the bottom line here is that in regard to paid speaking engagements, it is institutions that are paying those fees, not the government itself. It is the government that has control of those funds, but once they give it to the schools they can use it for purpose x or y. I must also state that some student organizations raise money from students, not as a federal or provincial tax but to dedicated funds, for instance, and some of these funds bring in speakers, who at times may be paid. Now ontop of this recognize that universities in Canada have political science departments so the value of a high profile MP such as Trudeau speaking is actually quite beneficial, he is a bit of a celebrity in Canada. None the less to see speakers fees as "tax payer funds" for activities which are privately contracted, and I do beleive MP's should be able to moonlight, so long as it doesn't represent a conflict of interest, or a backdoor to create embezzling slush funds. I would be very surprised if this is the case. In terms of money well spent, if looking at paying Bill Clinton $100,000 to speak from educational funds or $10,000 for Trudeau, I would have to say that giving the funds to a Canadian is far more patriotic and in line with Canadian cultures and values. To say that Trudeau isn't educational, a former teacher himself, I think that is just an attack that isn't very substantial. However, I think that universities funding speakers is problematic (if from the wrong fund) but self funding a speaker by student societies, organizations, or other private entities (or from a fund that wasn't earmarked for other purposes from a grant) is completely ethical. However, I do think this is problematic to fund from tax payer revenues (if the grant wasn't ethically given for a purpose to which the speaker even an mp fullfilled..). However, there is no indication the institutions used tax payer grants to hire Trudeau to speak, provide that info if you have it. As an MP he doesn't get paid to tour the country. As long as he isn't claiming travel expenses (for his MP accounts0 for his moonlighting activities no biggie. Although if he claimed it for business costs it is within the CRA act.. he can. but as long as he isn't double dipping on stuff more power to him, people who work are good for Canada. People who hold two or more jobs are even better. You know because MP's who are also ministers basically do that exact same thing, they work for the crown, and they work for the public as part of parliament. It is more than one job. Although that is also a corruption from the early 20th century SHAME! Unrelated those same MP's who also act as a crown agent should man up and join the executive council and leave their seat or refuse the appointment. Not both saying they work for the crown, then also saying they represent their riding.
  18. Just a follow up on my bug sink --- all you'd need to do is just set up some sort of pendulum trap with a bubble pump,, with a high efficency high lumens LED at night.. this way the bugs would be attracted to the light, the pendulum trap captures the bugs near the light and the bubble pump will move the bugs to the trap area... that is one concept It may seem pretty plan but for high bug areas, this is a massive source of free protein... . plus it would get rid of pesky bugs. This same concept can be ramped up to an industrial scale. such as mobile bug sink stations that can then be used to make "bug protein powder" With no feedstock or other initial inputs. Although you could "plant" to environments to encourage bug growth, but really if controlling larva that is another product right there. These are untapped food sources. For boreal Canada it is a mechanism to enhance the carrying capacity of the land without any inputs other than this device. Not only for survival but also for living - bugs. http://www.fao.org/forestry/edibleinsects/65429/en/ As much protien as beef, that little mosquat and blackflew. Hey and if you are just debugging, why not use it as feedstock! Yup its able to be fed into animals who you can then murder to get larger chunks in the slice. Oh and if you are in the "I would never eat bugs" camp... http://www.mun.ca/biology/bpromoters/edibleinsects.php "...t the average North American inadvertently ingests 1 to 2 pounds of insects each year." This just had me question, perhaps the adena serpent mounds were actually worm mounds? lest wasteful societies actually use the critters as food http://nopr.niscair.res.in/bitstream/123456789/6263/1/IJTK%208(4)%20485-494.pdf "BIOPROSPECTING"
  19. I don't understand are you suggesting people who are 'elected' are responsible? Just give direct rule to the people. And insure equal rights and access to the non government militia that is self forming by the citizens. rather than oligarchical elitists.. We have the systems to give the people the vote on all issues so why are we forced to representatives to maybe vote the way we want? I'm not calling for instantaneous revolution but create a third house, the house of the people. If we all are expected to bank everyday via ATMs then why doesn't government use ATMs to allow us to register our votes on issues, and to suggest new legislation. These are within our technological means, yet the people are still disenfranchised. Parliament is not the will of the people but rule by party elitists. Bring real democracy to Canada instead of the farce that is a dual party system of corrupt politicians that has debted and robbed the common people of Canada for over a century. The people want a vote on laws that will rule the people!
  20. The further north you are the more luminesence.... most of canada is as high or higher than germany. as northern europe (denmark) is about 50 degrees north.. which most of Canada is above 50 degrees. SO Canda has more sun than germany. It is weird that daylight hours are weird depending on what latitude you are at. http://astro.unl.edu/classaction/animations/coordsmotion/daylighthoursexplorer.html Solar energy isn't exactly the same as how hot it makes it. As heat is at one wavelength, photvoltalics can be at others. Although there are some solar heat systems. Like solar water heaters for instance. There are factors like "time of year" lattitude, and angle of panel alignment to the sun wave direction. Methane is the ideal base heat source because it is the fuel that is created from our waste products. If you are wondering why climate change is happening, it is because we are unlocking all the carbon that is trapped in the earth. Our wastes leak methane anyway. The coldest places in canada are now leaching methane from their soggy soil, all that must be done is collection of the methane being released, and "bottling it" for winter use. It is mind numbing that our non renewable resources are being eatenup when we have ample renewable resources available.
  21. this is very acheivable. With the solar tiles and water and wind mills nearly all our energy needs would be met. Solar tiles cost little more than the cost of reshingling ones home. New homes could also provide these. Even windows are solar chargers these days. Canada is remarkably energy inefficient, but this is because people don't care. No one want to "pay ahead" the cost of energy efficiency. I am off grid but I am also a low energy consumer, and I have a battery bill coming up hopefully next year or the year after at the soonest. Due to my low energy lifestyle 250 watts cells in capture is enough for me, even though I also have a small windmill available that could also supliment the system. Overall though I'm one person but a family set up would cost perhaps 10,000 or less if doing it budget. If anyone is interested by all means contact me. It is remarkably easy. the only hard part is having enough room and setting up solar aligned "shelving". it might cost less depending on how much energy you use but this depends on your needs. 100 wats can run $200 and less these days for laminants that are very resilient.
  22. I disagree with you here, first the schools don't have to have him speak, they want him to. second it ain't cheap to run in politics.. it costs millions of dollars, the liberals have suffered from party debt in the past, I think what he is doing is "good" that is earning his own money, instead of taking it from the tax payers. One might question why schools are being partisan if they are government funded... that is the real issue here.
  23. If the government weren't corrupt and untrustworthy, these sorts of privacy issues wouldn't concern people. In a corrupt police state people have concerns obviously. These are partisan and power hungry people, politics and vendetta is rampant within the government workforce, afterall they are human. its the people who are running the systems that matters, a lot of people don't fully trust the police. I think if these were for terrorism reasons it would be the CSE and CF intelligence services. As far as child porn etc.. I was really disturbed that it appears to have been popping up on a lot of internet porn sites as ads on those sites. Its really hard to tell peoples ages though. For obvious child porn this is another issue completely though and I've only ever encountered it online once when someone on MIRC spammed a link to a child porn site, I was greatly insulted and offended, and contacted the police accordingly. That was like a decade ago. None the less computer systems aren't secure, all these computer crimes are fairly circumspect. The only issue I have is that it is undoubted that these provisions will go well beyond what they are intended and the "creep" effect will come into play, as once you give police a taste of new powers they will find ways to apply them to instances they weren't intended for. I think people should just get over it though, this selective police state stuff is rather partisan. the divide between business government then the people is rather unfortunate when it come to policing. It is effectively fascist policy. Bottom line is the pedos will only up their technology and systems as soon as the government cracks down on one way of couriering. Good measures, but what the government should do hand in hand, is remove online copyright laws and make materials freely reproducible for personal non commercial use, such as self-educational use. Likewise people will just use encryption anyway, if that fails, they will use sign, codes, or elaborately hiding stuff. You actually by forcing the movement underground limit available leads from narcs and other informants. Then you don't get to the source of the materials. The only real alternative is employing software to analyze all photos and videos online all traffic specifically with software designed for porn, along with facial recognition software, paired with biometric IDs for all citizens where facial recognition software can be used to match it up.. that with cameras in schools for childrens registrations and all individuals in the vunerable sector in addition to getting a police check also get put into the system for facial recognition, and also for computer system use monitoing, cell phone monitoring etc.. since they are the ones .. oh and all parents of course and baby sitters... etc.. that is a start. (Of course Leave the people who don't have access to kids alone...... or how about a tax credit for child monitoring bands that can be read by gps? that set off an alarm if removed via wireless technology called the "Amber frequency" giving the childs code number and the last gps location? Set up cameras after every public venue "kids are allowed to go to alone" Oh and make a "kids internet" and an adult internet" and require everyone to log into their ISP .... with the "candaian internet access card" and oh how about prohibiting communications online without logging in.. you know so things can be tracked.... The two pronged issue is you can't trust a corrupt partisan political front, and you can't trust a governmentla police system embedded with organized crime elements. I think it is realistic to pump out a cheap electronic device for $10 or so, that is a commitment of only about say 4 million dollars, with perhaps an additional 5 million to upgrade municipal antennas to take in the tracking data. Perhaps another 10 or 20 million to implement the biometrics info since there are already government cameras etc.. at various government offices at various government leels, example health ministires and passport |Canada, drivers licensing places etc.. With only perhaps 400,000 new births each year and that comprising perhaps 50 million a year maximum threshold to monitor all children. The systems could use an active RFID system with antennas mounted to lampposts and telephone poles.. , to compliment the CCTV systems at all locations with children... oh and you know since all parents and people employed would need to be scanned too, they'd have their RFID cards too so that only people with cards would go near these systems without an alert being generated... and anyone who does show up would pop up on the system once in range. When you look at this in comparison th cost of the G20 or making a fake lake, or the primeminsiters personal security cost, who do you protect the children or the PM? I think the PM should man up and kill his own security budget and reallocate the funds to protecting the children of the nation. Of course corrupt government will use it for parents who care about their kids, abducting or threatening parents to do their wishes or face the torture of their chidlren. The more power they have over you the less you can resist their orders regardless of how much they violate your rights. the government program is to enable them to strip all civil liberties from individuals that don't follow the program, this includes charter rights. They want total control even if it isn't legislatively based, they create their own policies that commonly violate civil rights. It is effectively partisan corruption, because people are in their for their interests rather than insuring rule of law and improving society as a whole rather than special interest groups, lobbies, and associates. That is why these laws are dangerous.. why for example did the forum go down for a while after this post went up? The bottom line is, police can do these things, but if they told the truth about how they obtained specific evidence the evidence would be inadmisable. Now to be serious if police are investigating and unearth evidence of something I would hope that would be sufficient for a search warrant or a seizure of other materials which may be present reasonably, even if the evidence or tip off is not admiisble due to not obtaining it with a search warrant without a reasonable beleif that a crime had been committed. Of course a illegal wiretap would also open up the police to charges, but who would know? They have their own systems that basically eat up and analyze wireless signals. Wireless signals fireboxes or what not basically everything from laptop monitors to telephones are emitting information. It is just a matter of having suspicion and its all able to be viewed.
  24. Because the costs of trading with a foreign country are always higher. Trade is not the reason federation exists. Also this whole higher living standards is bollocks. I would pick a third world tropical country over a super industrialized and pulluted country to live in any day of the week. Northern Countries are cold for half the year if not longer. That is 6 months of bad quality of life. that is lethal enviornment. Not sure who the hell is making those charts, and if lethal climate for half the year is factored in. guess why they are socialist? CAUSE they DIE if they don't get along in winter. Much like why religion is prevalent in countries where heat stroke is easy to suffer by.
