  1. I must disagree Blackdog. Afganistan was a legitamate war. It needs more support from more nations. iraq on the other hand...well
  2. And Christanity and Judaism have never done anything on this list? "Literal reading of the Koran to kill heathen that do not convert" Typical fanatical extremist right wing propaganda.
  3. Because the hysterial over communsim grasped the nation by the throat. I must agree with Hugo. China's militarty threat is non-existant except in ICBM delivery. There is nothing they can do on a convetional level that would frighten the US except for a massive landwar aganist all of its neighbors. However, China can marginally threaten the US through mercantilism. Depends how powerful you were. With a secular, strong youth base, you could probably say Muhommad was an idiot and survive in Tehran. With lots of money and mafia connections, you could say Lenin was an idiot in Moscow. However, you are ignoring the numerous nations that support free speech.
  4. Yes, because a single vial is 100 tons of active, ready to be used bio/chemical weapons! Wait, who said they didn't have any proof or any nukes or nuke projects after 1999! Even i was generous! Um, the time report has already dealt with your statement. Sure, i'll wait for the inevitable attack that will commited by weapons that don't exist. Executed with expertise they don't have. Delivered by delivery systems that don't exist. With money that wasn't funded towards a non-existing nuclear and bio weapons programs! Before 1998. wait, if you had it before, you still must have it now. Thus, i had $500 a year ago, so thus i must have that SAME $500 now! I had a sandwich I ate two days ago, thus I must have that SAME sandwich today in my lunchbox! If you bothered to read the posts and reports, none of them state they had any large amount, or even moderate, or anything beyond a tiny fraction of what they had before. Definittely not 100 tons. Maybe a vial or two, or maybe two or three canisters. But not 100 tons.
  5. Hugo: I never mentioned Child Abuse, you have someone else's post mistake as mine.
  6. Isn't the point of most religions to provide comfort, a thing to believe in, a reason for life, a reason for going on, a reason to believe that you are doing something more then your daily life? Something to put faith in. Is Islam failing under those conditions?
  7. We didn't cause the need for the Marshall plan. BIG difference. the ROK is perfectly capable of defending itself. its military is highly trained, armed with advance weapons, has good intelligence, has the upper hand on the North in every aspect except Nukes (for now), and has a stable, strong economy. 50 years ago the ROK needed help, but today is a very different situation. If anything, Japan's defense force can be called upon to help defend. Their F-16/FXs and recent purchase of F-15s will help strike at the North Koreans and aid the ROK well. Your definition of failed is not the dictionary one. Stop thinking that everything you say is correct. Right, because Haiti never happened, Kosovo never happened. Bosnia never happened. Let's ignore all data that contricts our arugment eh craig?
  8. This nothing like Japan or Germany. Japan submitted and did not rise up because their Emperor accepted surrender and urged them not to fight. If we forciably removed their Emperor, this world would be much different. Germany knew there was two options. Allied occupation or ruthless, brutal Soviet oppression. Take your pick. Obviously the Germans went on their best behavior. Few US troops were lost in Germany during the occupation. The political and local reasons, as well as sentiments are completely different then those that the average Iraqi has. The Shittes have given the US 3 days to write an apology about I think a brutal investigation or they will turn on US occupiers. That was yesterday.
  9. Well, should the US convert to Biodiesel or somehow make a economical breakthrough in Hydrogen cells, oil will become useless. Byproducts from oil, such as plastics can be manufactured from other substances, such as corn oil (i'm not joking, it's pretty nifty). I wonder if we compeltely abandon the Middle East, would alot of our problems dry up?
  10. From a Native Iraqi.
  11. Right...like they do here! If we didn't get into this mess if the first place, none of that would be needed. or the next decade or two. Nice avoidance of anything relevant
  12. The ROK army can withstand any attack from the North. It has come a long way since the Korean war. Trade relationships: Doesn't mean you survive only because of good trade. Market access: Once again a principal of capitalism, ROK can trade with other countries, it doesn't survive on US markets. Direct monies such as....._________Link? The Korean war, do you see them invading each other now? The few US troops in South Korea are speed bumps should the North attack. Pull them out and ROk won't notice in terms of overall defense. What's 37,000 to 650,000?
  13. If you haven't noticed, (suprise suprise), He pushed hard for ground troops. The "Regan Letters" Newsweek proves this. His bombing at high alttitudes was the only option left to him by the clinton admin. That or let the genocide contiune. Do you blame Joe for not doing something when his hands are tied and he is powerless to untie them? Can a car keep running with no gas? It was beyond his power to change the tatical equation. You cannot hold someone accountable for restrictions placed on them from above. It was either bomb from high alttitude or left that manic kill thousands. There were no other options. Would you have rather let thousands die faced with that option? Wait, I forgot, you're willing to let millions die rather than swallow your pride. But since you don't like clark, let's ignore all ration thought! He's wrong in that we cannot win a war aganist an concept? Terrorism will exist as long as human do. The situation in Iraq is becoming a huge mess. watch this How can you declare him wrong when the situation is far from where it is suppose to be?
  14. You're missing the whole point, as usual. No one has contested that the WMD did exist. We are contending that they existed at the time that Bush called for war on the threats of the WMD. There isn't any evidence that the WMD programs existed past 1999. The article does not support your claim that there were the WMD that Bush said were a threat. It supports the claim that there were no WMD or even the ability to produce them.
  15. Yes, miniscule amounts of weapons. Not the tons and tons and tons of WMD that you and your extremists have been lying about. I'm suprised you haven't declared that Time should be destroyed like BBC.
  16. Just like the proof of WMD. Because Bush is such a reliable, honest, trustworthy, genernous, selfless person! If he wanted to not take over the oil, he would have started iraqi oilfirms. Do you see any of that happening? No, he initally gave a huge contract to dear ol' Cheney's company! HMMMMMM. And the oil thought to be in the ANWR is more then Prudhoe bay. Your point? However, the greatest amount of oil is thought to be underwater. Because they have no choice. Oil has become one of Russia's lifelines. If they had their way, they would be charging us a arm and a leg. The way to cut down the costs is to lean on OPEC. Russia's oil prices flucutate with OPEC production. Making Iraq a huge supplier will force OPEC to drop their prices, if not shatter OPEC itself, which in turn would allow the US to save trillions of dollars. And i'll get Greg to delete your flamer posts If you had ties to large oil corps, wouldn't you siphon off millions?
  17. I like your complete lack of any proof Craig. Do you believe that opinions are always facts? I'd rather have someone who thinks before he leaps.
  18. I am not asking you to completely disgard your opinion. I am asking you to add the idea that new science will ultimately prove the truth. To debate with such fury and passion over something that no one can say beyond a doubt is ludicrious. A sane and rational person does not attack another with full knowledge that new evidence and new science will prove either side. Previous scientists thought that no new evidence would come to light on the topic of where life arises from. They thought it was from dead matter, like logs at the bottom of a lake. Are you going to be like them?
  19. The US's death penalty is flawed. Severely. If you want a large (8 page) research paper, I can e-mail you one. It details the history of the penalty in the US, life sentence vs. death, bias, innocent killed, moral dilemmas, effectivness, local economical impact, ect. Unless the penalty trials are reformed, it has no place in American Justice.
  20. And Time proves me right, once again.
  21. South Korea? Can you provide any evidence? Burma? Since.... Turkey doesn't survive on US aid. It's helpful, but they can do without it.
  22. Anyone can produce chemical weapons. It's called the Anarchist's Cookbook, here's another link, Cookbook 2. A simple basic knowledge of Chemistry is helpful too. Working at a science dept at a college grants you access to much of the needed chemicals and means to produce them. If you wanted to produce a large amount of napalm, it would be extremely easy. Using parts of a laptop and clay, and a few household objects and tools, you can produce a decent size bomb. Anyone can be a chemical/explosive terrorist if they wanted to. It's not hard. Now with that said, do we go after everyone who MIGHT just be angry at us?
  23. Hugo: No it hasn't. One ministry building was defended as the rest of the minsitry buildings, holding valuable information burned to the ground. The first takeovers were of large oilfields by special opps troops then relived by large amounts of marines. Us's first order of business was to get the oil production back into pre-war lines. The US will save BILLIONS, upon BILLIONS, upon BILLIONS of dollars in the future, (if not trillions) by directing controlling a vast oil producing country. Special trade agreements between the future Iraqi government, US oil companies and the US gov't will allow the US to buy oil at cut rate prices. The ability to dictate a large oil reserve is something the US misses. Hardly. The Russian federation is a sham. The russian mafia essentially controls a large portion of Russia. Any large sum of US dollars will easily be sliced up and taken by those in the mafia. Also, much of the oil is in Siberia. The logistics of massive production and movement of that oil is mind boggling. Also, Russia's reserves are signifigtently less then Iraq's, nor will the US be able to dictate Russian crude. Russia in the short term would be more profitiable, but not even close to a US puppet state in Iraq.
  24. So it's ok to quicken our stay on this planet?
  25. Derek: Have we forgotten that the Koran strictly prohibts killing yourself?
