Ontario Liberals And The Media
Mr. Chater replied to dnsfurlan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If McGuinty rises to anywhere near Harris' ability to confront adversity he'll receive my praise indeed. Harris came from nowhere to win a majority government. He did it with the media and the elites snickering at him all the way. When he was in office, he implemented programs which had every special interest group and media liberal types calling him things like Hitler. Mcguinty will not get anywhere near that kind of scrutiny. But he can't hide from challenges forever. Life won't let him off that easy. We'll see what happens. Harris may have become a tired politician. Adversity, however, is something he did not back away from for many years. amen. I think Harris did a better job then most Premiers have ever. If Mqunty could do as good... -
Canadian Conservatism In 2007
Mr. Chater replied to Jerry Potts's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well many people have voted already. I think by then, we should have a merged right if we don't right now, though if we don't do it soon, there might not be a right... -
Where Is The Prime Minister In Time Of Need
Mr. Chater replied to RScott's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
haha, yeah. Instead they send Mr. Martin down here...go figures.. -
Some schools may not want you to use your own lock as they would need to know your combination. (hence why they give you their own.) They would need to go through your locker for safety reasons in emergency times. If you buy your own, you shoud let the office know your combination or give them an extra key.

I think that is somewhat sad, changing rules for a party to "participate".

Martin Becomes Beacon Of Canadian Conservatism
Mr. Chater replied to Neal.F.'s topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well i know PC lost a lot. And this will probably happen, though i don't know if Canada wants to be that right. Who knows, all i think is that there will be hope for the right once and only when they merge, no matter how long it takes and what they go through everyone knows that it is the only way to prevail. -
I'de have to be with Pellaken. Seems most believable and realistic.

Last week a friend of mine got a call from Revenue Canada. They were trying to track down his brother because he had not paid taxes in the last 3 years. The reason, unfortunately, was that he was killed in a car accident 3 years before. Now call me nitt-picky, but before the feds want to fingerprint me or tag my DNA for a database, should they not work with and organize the info they've got to at least know which of their citizens are alive or dead? (needless to say my friend was a tad upset) That is a little sad. I can only imagine the reaction from the them as he told them.

If he is a real leader, then this merger will happen and the right shall hit victory. But until then..they will be nothing.
-
Although Harper is showing Real LeaderShip. I believe it is time they both stepped down (which is why we are trying to have a coalition). I think it is time for a new face, like Mike Harris to take the spot as leader, hopefully not make the same flaws these two have and lead this country to victory...

Merger Proposal Expected Today
Mr. Chater replied to westcoast99's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I believe that the Leader should now be Mike Harris. No questions asked. Because he has backup from other MP's and Premier's saying that he is the better man for the job. he is a strong man and stays strong with every word he says. Because MP's and Premier's are saying hes even beter then the current two leaders, there shouldn't be a problem with Mike Harris getting it. I also too think that it's time for a new face. Harper and Mackay are not bad, but it's old now. Mike Harris i think is best fit for the job. All we have to do is wait the conflict out and hope that Mr. Harris gets it. If all goes well...in advance...goodbye Mr. Martin.. -
i would probably say: Steven Harper Ralph Klien Mike Harris
-
hmmm...its quite interesting. It somewhat sounds like everything is riding smooth "for the better of Canada" and i hope things are as "canada deserves it." heh, now we know there is a meeting this monday and will hear for the results hopefully they wont be too bad

Conservative Party In 2004
Mr. Chater replied to Alliance Fanatic's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And this is the problem if things don't actually work on the same page. Not everything will add up and in the near future, there will probably be a civil war between the Conservative Party. If that happens, the right wing is doomed.. -
Tory Mps That Support Merger
Mr. Chater replied to westcoast99's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
they have gone too far to back away now...like i have stated in other threads..all that is stopping them is a good, strong leader. -
Media Talks About Possible Leaders
Mr. Chater replied to westcoast99's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
hmmm, we were all discussing Mike Harris as well were we not Though i still say Ralph Klien isn't too bad either, its ok. -
I believe the following have a shot: Mike Harris Steven Harper Ralph Klien Peter Mackay

Paul Wells: Mackay A "sucky Baby"...
Mr. Chater replied to sir_springer's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
heh, i'm with the PC's and CA. Though i'm more of a "PCer". Though all you talk about is Mackay or Harper becoming Leader. There are other people such as Mike Harris and Ralph Klien and so on that probably both parties wouldn't have much of a problem with. You said that Martin might blow them off and at the end PC's will be history..i don't believe so, i believe that Martin himself will be blown away by the power of the right wing once it is merged and deep in its work. Though the name Progressive Conservative will be no more..it will only make their history better of making this their best move (merging.) Who knows...
