Sue The Airlines For 9-11 ?
Mr Farrius replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The families of the American citizens killed in 9-11 should have every right to sue the airlines. Looking over those claims, I find that those are actually valid reasons to sue. Why? Because if even one of those were implemented correctly, more lives would have been saved. You say it's insane, but you don't truly know the feelings of the families that are still grief-stricken even til the 2nd year anniversary of this tragic event, of their lost brother, sister, father, or mother. I doubt you had a relative who died in the event, and if you did, I fail to realize your motives. This is why I'm a liberal. I'm sensitive to the views of others and take as much as I can into account, whereas conservatives seem to disregard the views of the people in general. -
Quite right nova satori. The Americans tend to be extremely impulsive without thinking about their actions. Part of the reason Bush is stuck in his sticky situation of having no choice but to ask (beg would be more appropriate than this euphemism) the UN to participate in Iraq. Same goes for charging off to Afghanistan and not being able to find Osama BinLaden in Afghanistan, which nobody on this forum seems to want to explain. With the horrible way things have turned out, an assault on North Korea would definitely bring much more dire consequences. But hey, let the U.S. assault North Korea. Let's see how events unfold after that mistake. Let's see again, that the American government never really thinks out their plans and as a result, fail to achieve them correctly.

The Right Wing Needs To Grow Up!
Mr Farrius replied to Pellaken's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Point is, the average Canadian isn't as dumb as the average American citizen. I didn't base my assertions on feelings or enmity towards the U.S. I do have support for what I say. First the average American is pretty much mostly the lower-class, as the lower-class makes up most of the American population. They are ignorant. In a reality show searching for some of America's most talented youth, ironically many contestants said that Sacramento, or New York was the capital of the United States. The average Canadian is definitely not as ignorant as the average American. This is a fact, and not an expression of hate. -

Tell me how this isn't hate speech? Let me quote some of your fellow conservative statements on the ignorance of Canadians: Craig Read- Krusty Kidd- Tell me how this isn't hate speech? -

Mr Farrius replied to Pellaken's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I apologize if what I stated was libel in any way. Looking over all the posts in this topic, shamefully I believe that one reason Canada is supposedly not as "great" as the U.S. is because its citizens don't really care about Canada. It is purely nauseating when citizens of a country do not care, or condemn it's own nation. You conservatives always complain that liberals do not care or respect their country. Yet here I find Canadian conservatives who hate their country. Pathetic. What's also pathetic is how Canadian conservatives fawn the U.S. and wear a facade of an American. No wonder Americans say our country is in a mess right now. If you don't like your country, I say you should renounce your citizenship and get the hell out. KK and Mr Read, you both commented on the ignorance of Canadians. Excuse me, but Canadians at the very least know the capital of our country, unlike a large portion of young American citizens according to a reality show. Hm, makes you wonder where the education budget is really going. Also not to mention that America has one of the lowest education rankings in the world and the average citizen is appallingly ignorant and stupid. -
Of whom do you state that America was attacked by? Surely not Iraq? Surely you're not saying that America will eliminate terrorism from the face of the earth either, because right now the American government hasn't done much in finding Osama Bin Laden (who American intelligence supposedly claim has been behind the cause of 9-11) or any other real advance in the "war on terrorism".

And you call AA racism? You've just called minorities stupid, Hugo. -

Mr Farrius replied to Pellaken's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hey! If only things could be like this who in this large country would need AA? That statement has been overused, and certainly doesn't reflect reality. Unfortunately Gugsy, that's good for you, but not a lot of other supervisors or managers reflect your views. Take for instance some white dominated American companies. Abercrombie and Fitch. Did you hear about its flagrant insult to asians? "Two wongs don't make a white" I believe was the atrocious remark on one of their t-shirts. You think that an asian person in this case could apply and get a job in this company, regardless of his or her skills? Get real. AA doesn't just apply to colleges, it applies to the workplace. Having racial connections and ties gets you farther than your skills and brain. With the way you Americans tend to hate Canadians, could I even get a job in the States?? Chances are pretty slim. -

Exactly. That's why AA is needed. Fact is, minorities just don't get equal opportunity. You don't think if much more of them were exposed to such opportunities that much more of them would take advantage of them? -
How altruistic... Btw, the remark about certain areas of the world becoming "black zones"; it's never going to happen. I suggest you speak realistically.

Bush Looks To U.n. To Share Burden On Troops In Ir
Mr Farrius replied to SirRiff's topic in The Rest of the World
I don't SirRiff would have been complaining if there was actually a decent liberal in the presidential office of the U.S. My point was, it isn't in the nature of conservatives to do such a thing, it's the liberals. Big difference. Conservatives can't take credit for liberal actions and say it's all for America. -
Who the hell said America has to be "policeman"?? Let everyone sweep his own and the whole world will be clean. Besides, just because the United States does not have nukes, doesn't mean they dont' exercise at least some bit of superiority in the military.
-
I think every nation should be allowed to have nuclear weapons, or no nations at all. Why is the U.S. is trying to monopolize WMDs all over the world, claiming that other nation's having them is a "threat". Of course, if the U.S. had gotten rid of all of its nuclear weapons and said something like that, I'd have no complaint.

Hugo, you forget that the Marshall plan and the "billions of American dollars poured into Europe and Japan" was under Harry Truman, a liberal. Surely you're not using liberal actions to support your statements are you? -

When I said minorities do not get into schools, I wasn't speaking for each and every single one. I thought everyone realized that. I was speaking for the majority of the minorities which is true; the majority of minorities don't get into good schools. Like RB pointed out, racism still exists. It always will. Without affirmative action, the majority of minorities will always get nothing but lower than the best, be it the workplace or in the realm of education. -

Nice post Sir Riff. Obviously since the U.S. hasn't found the WMDs they charged into Iraq for, it's wanting out. What better solution for relief and more support than the UN? I say the UN should leave America to its own troubles in Iraq and make it clean up the mess it made. Wait, that would make the U.S. look like a fool another time. -

Without AA, blacks, hispanics, and native americans DO NOT get into decent colleges. Simple as that. -

dnsfurlan, it's not about a lack of faith in minorities. It's about statistics. Statistically minorities just DO NOT do as well as majorities. As a result, liberals want to change that through affirmative action. Like I said, we need diversity and people in America want a better solution than "hard work". -

Mr Farrius replied to Pellaken's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Okay. I see your point. BUT, since diversity is extremely important in a society such as the United States, what would YOU propose to facilitate it within the workplace and education? If affirmative action is such a bad idea you know. If you can criticize it surely you have an idea that's much better? -
The Right Wing Needs To Grow Up!
Mr Farrius replied to Pellaken's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No problem. Let's start with reforms. We liberals want change. What kind of change? We want equal rights for all people. I personally support affirmative action. I've noticed people throughout this forum saying affirmative action is racist. However it is not. All affirmative action merely does is be conducive to diversity. It does not discriminate. It does not restrict. All it does is attempt to include a more variety of races and ethnicities into colleges or the workplaces. After all, the American constitution states all men are created equal right? I as a liberal Canadian shake my head when I see conservatives complaining about not getting all the opportunities they already get. Another type of reform is economic reform. Right now America is in over a trillion dollar deficit. Regardless of what anyone says, America needs to get rid of that. The only thing conservatives have done right is in regards to the defense of our nation. Domestically, they have plunged America deeper into a deficit. It started declining when Bush came into office neh? Canada is a more politically stable nation, because whatever it wants to get done isn't influenced by a divide in politics. We are not at each other's throats because one of us disapproves of the action of another. In other words, we get what we need to get done without constant bickering. Good enough? Or do you need more explanation? -
Canada Doesn't Deserve To Be A Country
Mr Farrius replied to guest123's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Regardless of those statistics, my point is that I as a Canadian am satisfied with the way things are. You say we should take things and improve it? Well guess what, America also has many things to improve right now. Take foreign policy for instance. Americans better find WMD's in Iraq pretty quick or it's going to look like a fool a second time (not finding Osama in Afghanistan). Then take a look at domestic policy, which brings many a shake of the head. Our "problems" in Canada are insignificant to what America needs to do to fix itself. -

Mr Farrius replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
What's really hard for the Republodumbs to comprehend is the fact that it's their fault the American economy is down. You present this nonsense of Congress not allowing Bush to cut spending. Well maybe because it would just do more damage to what the tax cut has done already. You do realize that when Bush presented his silly idea of a tax cut which point was really to benefit the rich only, that over 600 economists in the United States presented a report stating the absurdity of his idea? Maybe liberals don't understand basic economics. But economists surely do.
