  1. Too bad, So sad....canoe isn't Canwest......but if it was? Do you think the unions are pro tory? Anyway, you whine too much.... Same thing.... Registrant Name CANOE: Canadian Online Explorer Inc. Registrar egateDOMAINS Inc. Renewal Date 2009/12/01 Date approved 2000/09/21 Last changed 2005/12/12 Description CANOE is positioning itself as a major contributor to the Canadian arm of the Internet, creating a distinctive, integrated Canadian offering of news & information, sports, entertainment, etc. CANOE currently employs a 15 person team of WEB developers and will use content from the daily newspapers of The Toronto Sun Publishing Corporation as a base for WEB product offerings. CANOE is a separate operating division of The Toronto Sun Publishing Corporation. Right wing. Canwest/Sun Media. No diff. Pro-Bush. Pro-Harper. Conservative Party mouthpiece.... By the way, Dancer. What is Brian Mulroney's role at Sun media?
  2. Canoe is not Canwest Global? Go back to jail. Do not pass Go. No wonder you are citing internet sources. You haven't a clue. Any idiot at Dartmouth can put up a web site. Colleges are all about free speech, right? And again, I ask you. Where is your referreed journal? Or do you know what a referreed journal really is? Be a sport. Dancer .
  3. http://palestinefacts.org/images/map_mandate_overview.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...e_1481-1683.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...lestine1920.png ...common knowledge And here I thought there might actually be a referreed journal or published work that would back up this crap. But what the hell. Everything you find on the internet is true, right?
  4. Gee, a quote from a Canwest Global controlled web site. Holy cow. Why am I not surprised? Could it be just another front on the Tory whine campaign (oh sorry, attack ads)? John Tory and Stevie Harper have one thing in common. They like to whine. Doesn't matter if they are in power or not. They just like to whine. It's OK. Little boys like to whine. It gets them mommy attention. "I don't like it" "Mommy, it's bad" "Mommy, can I drive your car?"
  5. Cite your source for your claim that "Palestine encompassed a much wider area, including all of present day Jordan". And no Argus, Rue spew won't do. And by the way, Argus. Learn how to spell. You are functioning at the level of an elementary school student.
  6. Too much on the sauce lately?I have no clue as to what you're talking about. What I'm saying is you seem to want moderators that would shut up the likes of myself, Rue, Scriblett and WestViking. You've just insulted perhaps three of the finest posters this Board has. I don't want moderators who will shut people up. I want moderators who will establish rules of order and apply them equally to all. Under Canadian law, acts of racism are a crime. Rue has repeatedly called me a racist and therefor a criminal. The criminalization of people requires a court judgment, not the opinion of an anonymous internet voice. Jbg. Get a clue.
  7. Yes you are right. I should have said the only country in the Middle East. Sloppy writing on my part. I do still wonder why you are here, though.
  8. North Korea hasn't used theirs and they are without doubt the wackiest we have.
  9. Scriblett brought Israel into the discussion. Obviously not a lawyer who would know to be careful about what to bring in testimony - you can get nailed on cross. You want to go after someone, then scriblett is your culprit. Suck it up Seinfeld.
  10. Really? Were we a country during the American Revolution? Now that's a revelation. What kind of citizenship were we offering then? Do you have a cite for that? We get tens of thousands of refugeees every year? Well why not put it in perspetive? At the time of Israel's War of Independence the populations of Lebanon and Jordan were a couple of million. Both countries, but especially Jordan, were very poor agrarian societies. Each had hundreds of thousands of refugees come fleeing across its borders. So instead of using a number like tens of thousands, Argus, why not consider something of equivalent scale? How do you think we would react if 6 million refugees came flooding across the border in the space of a month? Would we make them all citizens? Or would we do like Australia has done and build refugee camps. Further Argus, you need to consider the economics of refugee influxes. Neither Jordan nor Lebanon could afford to suddenly absorb such a huge inflow of penniless hordes. However, if they were housed in refugee camps, the UNHCR would provide, as it has been doing ever since. And finally, Argus, keep in mind that the Palestinian refugees do not consider that they need citizenship of their host countries. They already have a homeland. This is a trick used so often by Israel's supporters. The Palestinian refugee problem is not Israel's problem, even though these poor souls were made homeless by the very creation of the state of Israel and the actions of Zionist fighters from the Hagganah, the Irgun, what have you - specifically at the request of David Ben Gurion. No, no. It's all the Arabs fault!
  11. Funny you should mention this. Back in January there was an interesting article in the Globe and Mail describing how women in Israel were being forced to sit at the back of the bus. Shades of Rosa Parks. Apparently if they refuse and try to sit near the front, they are harassed by Orthodox Jews who see women as having a, well let's just call it 'special', role to play in life.
  12. Well, on third thought, why abandon the field to my lessers just because they behave like thugs? West Viking dwells, as so many of Israel's supporters do, on the victim mythology Israel likes to spread so thickly. Note how West Viking just simply refers to "The Arabs". Apparently you know so little about the Middle East, you can't even distinguish between them. You probably think Iran is full of Arabs. Then there are the vague statements about the Palestinians never having owned anything. You apparently haven't even bothered to read this thread. You don't belong here. Take your ignorance somewhere else. You are no match for this crowd. JBG does a fine job of showing what "impute" is all about. I stated that this place needs proper moderators and JBG immediately imputed that this would involve the apparently sorry moderation seen at another site. JBG, try to stay focussed, will you? And of course we have scriblett. A classic example of the Rue technique. Anybody who disputes the historical mythinformation laid on so thickly by the pro-Israel crowd is a "hater of Israel". As I have stated so many times, scriblett, all of the facts I cite come out of heavily researched and widely acclaimed works by internationally recognized Jewish Israeli historians. I don't recall you citing any of your references. Come to think of it scriblett, I don't recall seeing you bring anything new to any of these discussions at all. Just the same old tired slop and accusations regurgitated over and over and over.
  13. On second thought, I think I'll just give up on Maple Leaf Web. Much of what is posted here is about hate - either people hating the Arabs and Moslems or accusing others who disagree with them of acting out of hate. Desperation is so sad. Anybody who takes any time to delve into history can spot the tired old distortions, exaggerations and misrepresentations that Rue and the other Israelites have made their stock in trade. Those who can't are not sufficiently armed to be particularly dangerous anyways. With proper moderation, this place could be an interesting debating society. With little or no moderation, it's just a bad joke.
  14. Of course, Argus prefers the US way of doing things. When murderous dictators abuse their people, the US just goes in and kills more people, destroying the country in the bargain and turning it into a haven for terrorists.
  15. I love it when people like you throw stones at Iran with respect to democracy. Do you rmember a guy named Mossadegh? In any case, any democratic government that the US doesn't like gets immediately attacked and starved out of existence. Democracy my eye.
  16. Apparently you're not bothering to keep up with the news. Palestinians in that refugee camp are leaving to get away from the militants who have installed themselves. The Palestinians have publicly said they do not support these militants.
  17. I'm having trouble remembering Argus, but perhaps you can refresh my memory. When was the last time Canada had a flood of hundreds of thousands or millions of refugees come flooding in over the border completely uncontrolled, as a result of a major war of displacement taking place a stone's throw away? How did we deal with that when it happened? Refresh my memory.
  18. Such erudition.
  19. So what are you doing here? If you can't respect our voice, then go somewhere else. What a democrat!
  20. Tell that to your friends, JBG.
  21. Not at all. My post was about the timing of Israeli offensives and the "Walk With Israel" initiative. If you want to talk about rockets, start your own thread and stop hijacking mine.
  22. Well certainly any government that lacked the balls to build an economic model not dependent on the Canada Ponzi Plan so we all could share in the wealth of our nation. Sad. An opportunity missed because of a government that has yet to grow any balls of its own ... How could we expect any better from Lyin' Jim Flaherty and Steve "New York Times" Harper. Losers.
  23. Finally somebody else who recognizes that Rick Mercer is an opportunist who makes applesauce from the low hanging fruit. When are we going to have our own political satire of the same quality of "Yes Minister"? Instead we seem to be stuck in "The Nanny" sitcome territory. 22 Minutes has improved since Mercer left, IMHO.
