In essence I agree with two exceptions.... Chretien was a thug and a sleazebag. I have absolutely no respect for him. Unfortunately ... as the case may be...Mulroney really did get caught in the headlights with his proverbial hand in the cookie jar. I suppose you could include the much villified Mike Harris in the list of strong leaders who fell from grace. Essentially I never for a minute accepted his having to take the blame for Walkerton but he did act like a dumb thug when it came to Ipperwash. I really wish we had another Joe Clark on the sidelines. All we have now is a Jack Layton, Ignatieff (with a Bob Ray looming) and U-Know-Who... Oy!

Now yer being silly about it. The bill is essentially to prevent a bullying husband from beating the crap outta his wife to get an abortion that is against her will. In effect..her choice is being removed. It aint likely gonna pass and it aint about recriminalizing abortion.

I didnt say the bill was a good idea. I was merely correcting your version of its stated purpose. Coersion doesnt always mean physical threat. It could also include economic threat.

The bill calls for making it a crime to intimidate OR coerce a woman into having an abortion. A far cry from trying to simply convince or discuss it with someone.
