No sources were name. No evidence was provided when Newman made his presentation. How do you know? What are you on about?
-
It's an UGLY political move.
-
W/E Let's try to remember the facts, shall we? Serious money had started to flow into the forces already under Chretien, and accelerated under Martin. Steve has continued this. My rage! Oh yeah.
-
Never alleged any particular person of being behind the rumour. How do you know it's a rumor? Because until any proof of such conversations occuring are brought forward, is it, in fact, a rumour. But how do you know that there was no proof in the report?

How dare Harper act according to his principles ... And what, pray, are the principles evidenced in Harper's choices?
-
Ah, but in legal terms they are exercising their first amendment rights. They can exercise their first amendment rights elsewhere, when exercising those rights infringes on keeping an orderly society that's called disturbing the peace and is a crime, (albeit a very minor one) No, amigo. The consititution is primary. People who are exercising their first amendment rights (peacably) can't be disturbing the peace. Ummm... if it doesn't hold up in court, then the cop did NOT have ANY right to do so.

I would call it happiness at evidence of justice in the universe. Harper turncoating on the principles he claimed to stand for and selling out the interests of the very people who supported him is 'evidence of justice' in your eyes? My my.

Question for any police or prosecutors...
Figleaf replied to Figleaf's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
In contrast to the prosecutors? BTW, how do you explain the various and diverse wrongful convictions, the frequent jailing of innocent people, the repeated, seemingly endless parade of victims of unjust verdicts? Cripes, I can't even name them all anymore. And that's just the murder convictions! Imagine how many poor sods must be doing time for lesser wrongful convictions! Probably 20-50% of the guys in prisons are actually innocent. -

The first two are very valid criticisms. ... Ridiculous.

Never alleged any particular person of being behind the rumour. Just found it very interesting that the CBC again found the most negative light in which to portray the Conservatives. I don't see it. Harper said disgraceful thing he said. The CBC didn't make them up. And if some Conservatives recognize that Steve's sniping is disgraceful, that's positive not negative. 1. Fuck that. 2. Respect is earned. 3. My comment was on point. You made the sidetrack. 4. Look up diatribe before you think about using it next time. Please explain what disdain the Liberals have revealed for the forces, specifically. Or slink away.

Those seem like interesting takes on the matter, but they seem like two different things. Any way we slice it though, 'I am who I am' is still wrongheaded, of course.

I was actually talking about your reference to the actions of our Prime Minister as false and filthy. Well, here's two things about that: 1-there's no forum rule against criticising the actions of political figures 2-Harper's smears are false and filthy. Age, reputation, respect. Another poster brought that up. I don't know any more about it than what was posted above. {EDITED to add: it was jdobbin in post #6 above who brought this up. He never mentioned 'unnamed' or 'rumor'. I suggest you check your facts.} In any event, whether reported as rumor or fact, I doubt that Newman made it up as you were alleging.

What possible reason would you think that they don't already???
-
Wow! Didn't you report me for my behaviour on the board? Your behaviour that I reported violated the forum rules. Use of the word 'fuck' does not violate the rules so far as I know. I've got a great idea! Why don't you READ the rules, then maybe you won't feel the urge to bother me with crap like this. I see, your partisan-mind-lock leaves you thinking that Don Newman, dean of Canadian political reporters, makes up stories. Yeah, that seems likely.
-
How do you figure that? Why don't you read the rest of his post, being: "Quebeckers are merely rationally using this unsustainable law to their advantage, at the cost of the have provinces." Quebec's special Charter status elevates that province's ideologies and culture, up and above, the normal level of politics in this country, along with 75-federal seats all national federal parties have to fight for. Anything that relates in the 'Charter of Rights and Freedoms' to that provinces ideologies and culture could be seen as an infringement to the 'basic inherent rights' of English speaking Canadians concerning the Crown and our Constitutional monarchy. So basically, you're full of shit on this subject.

Any names for these imaginary MPs? How do you know they are MPs? If they are going to make something up, why not go big? ??What??
-
What doesn't 'sound good' about human rights for human beings? Oh yes. God forbid a tory blunder should get publicity! What the fuck do you mean 'called to account'??? They have nothing to account for. They weren't called to account, they were the target of a false, filthy Harper smearjob.

Dion was asking for it. There were soldiers in the gallery. Harper's a pretty smart guy and made Dion look like a fool. Harper owes Dion nothing. Politics is rough, if you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen. Bullshit. There are limits of decency and Harper is too often on the wrong side of them. Calling people pedophiles and saying they support the Taliban are poisonous lies and unbecoming a senior civic leader. The fact that his supporters cheer on that sort of disgraceful behaviour is simply sad.

Why does the PM have to act like a demented bully? Personally, I don't care to have my government led by someone with that kind of unrestrained vicious streak. It's like having a cobra for a babysitter.

Watch me not feed this troll.

Well, you're right that the Westboro baptists don't have much to do with the New Testament, at least as far as I can tell. I wonder if technically they are 'Christian' at all? But why would they leave America just because it's Sodom Time? As she says, God's mercy is the only salvation. Fleeing his wrath won't do a damn thing.

Ontario going to $10 hrly wage within two years.
Figleaf replied to Topaz's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Dirty lowlife working-poor. Fuck 'em. Keep 'em down, I say. Better bring in a 60 hour work week too. 'Overtime' my ass. LUCKY to have any job at all. And why can't they be better parents, too? Dirt poor lowlives raising dirt poor kids. Lazy, that's what they are. And poor morals to boot! Slutting and rutting with their 'rock and roll' music. Disgusting. By God, that Trudeau... he screwed up this country but good. It's gotten so a white male can't pinch his secretary's ass anymore without a goddam feminist inquisition!
